So without amazon = 650k? I would say 750k. I think Gaga was going to sell at least 100k out of what she did sell because of Amazon's cloud stuff minus the Gaga specific 99 cent promo.

The 7 day week argument doesn't really hold up too well in my book. People who bought Monday just would've bought on Tuesday. The difference would've been minute. 6 vs 7 days makes no difference. lol you are not good at algeba shame on you. You want to say that 'oops..' on day no 7 didn't sold any copy? if oops had full 7 day week it would sell like 150,000 more Not necessarily. The thing is the extra day is 1st day of sale, not the 7th day. Most of the people who make the purchase on the 1st day are those most interested in the album and will likely have bought it anyway within the week. The album initial shipment was 2.1 mil. There's no way the label expected 400k with that kind of shipment. "Teenage Dream" shipped over 1 mil copies and was expected to sell 400k-700k. I think they were lowballing BTW on purpose to avoid 'Teenage Dream' kind of embarrassment. There's no doubt that there were impulse purchases made by those who wouldn't have bought it if not for the deal. But it's delusional to think that all of the .99c purchases were of that kind. The deal would not have made a difference to those who had no interest whatsoever in the album. Those who took the deal either would have bought it anyway from other retailers, or: - planned to buy it later on, just not in the 1st week, which would result in higher 1st week sales, but lower sales for the subsequent weeks. - were going to just pick and choose the tracks, which in this case would result in lower singles sales for the album. - would have downloaded it illegally. There's no way to break the numbers down. But there's no way you can just deduct the deal's numbers and assume that's what she would have sold without the deal. And then there are those who had downloaded it illegally already or will still download it illegally despite the deal out of habit and they don't want to make the extra effort of making an account on Amazon. Also, there are those who just wanted the single(s) and already bought it/them and didn't bother with the album. The latter would not have been possible with an album such as Britney's OIDIA for which the label intentionally didn't put the singles on sale and thus those who wanted the singles had to buy the album (OMG!!! Brit Brit cheated too!!!!! ;)). So the idea that the today's digital and illegal downloading era has little to no effect on albums sales, which had declined by more than half from what they were in 2000 btw, is pure BS.

TBH I don't think this would have sold NSYNC numbers in 2000.
I think her debut would have been the same, but with smaller week to week drops.

oh and don't forget she had full 7days(7.5) week of sales when Oops... had only 6 and 15.99$ >>>0.99$ ;) When you look at the fact that the economy has gone down the shitter and music has decreased in value since you can get it for free on the Internet, i think it's about equal actually.

Gaga will have the highest first week sales this year. Lil' Wayne and Beyonce will do 500K max, if even considering the crappy leaks coming from both their projects.
