Eminem - MMLP - scanned 2.5 after two weeks. Relevant because? Taylor had somewhere between 300-320k second week. I want to say Lil' Wayne's was closer to 350k but I forget. As has been pointed out, second weeks from OIDIA, MMLP, NSA are WAY higher than Speak Now/BTW/TCIII

Eminem - MMLP - scanned 2.5 after two weeks. NSYNC - NSA - 2.4 after one week.

Well, that's a pretty big drop, but it's still good numbers. Overall, it won't top The Fame.

LOL at people throwing around Nsync, Eminem and Spears's sales of the early 2000's
I just ask one thing: How much those three acts made on their tours (each tour separate) back then???
Surely not $217 million dollars and being right there with Legendary acts such as Madonna and U2.
LMAO.... GaGa laughs at the haters all the way to the bank.

Their touring figures weren't anything to sneeze at though.

I can take an 80% drop as long as it doesn't continue to plummet. A month further of six figure sales weeks would be ideal and I think it's definitely possible, especially with EoG smashing and getting its video premiere sometime in the next 2-3 weeks

Nsync had two 80-date arena tours, including 42 stadium dates. I'm sure they were laughing on their way to the bank as well.

Wikipedia (who quotes some articles) says Nsync made over $70 million with their first tour and over $90 million with their second (with another $33 in their addenda tour and last tour)
90 + 70 + 33 = 193 < 227
And that's adding ALL of their tours.

Considering how GaGa had a 200 date tour, it's not surprising that her gross tour revenue would be higher than the others you have mentioned.
Although I am not sure why you are trying to compare the tour revenue here in a album sales thread.

Those *Nsync tours only added up to 157 dates in all. As Pikachu pointed out The Monster Ball Tour was 201 dates. That breaks down to roughly $1,229,299 per *NSync date and $1,129,353 per Gaga date...somehow I doubt that was the comparison you were trying to make. To be fair though, prices were likely different for each tour so what you really want to know is the number of seats sold, not the gross amount earned.

People fail to realize that STILL in this economy it does make it harder to sell tickets and for artists to put on shows. Anyone remember how she was broke during the whole first NA leg of the Monster Ball. It wasn't until the LiveNation deal that she got a break.

Honestly, a 90% drop-off wouldn't shock me.

people were talking about second week sales of million selling debuts. That's why i brought up Eminem. Also Eminem uses that line in a diss song to Everlast.
"Now it's all bout country, you gave up hip-hop. 49,000 copies, the week your s**t dropped. While my sales making records break. two and a half million scanned by the second week. M********ker I hit em up.[/i]"

I think GaGa's final era numbers will be similar to the front-loaded eras of Late Registration and Carter 3, about 2.5 mil sold after holiday sales factor in.

IDK. She's shown longevity. And those are hip hop artists. Their sales are greatly frontloaded in any situation.

True, but I'm not sure if she has enough radio stamina this era to cross 3 mil unless there's another re-release. Will be interesting to watch though.

lol this thread is a mess already
Death Cab for Cutie are flopping hard in the UK.. Granted, they've never been anything like Arcade Fire there but "Codes and Keys" is likely to fail to match "Narrow Stairs"' debut position.
If they can reach 100k in the US, that'd be ok I guess.

On another and LAST non-related, totally out of the blue post....
.... checking out Nsync's numbers, it really surprises me that they were huge really only in the USA, not worldwide. Just like Taylor Swift.
Eminem, Briteny and GaGa are/were WorldWide superstars whose US sales in some cases doesn't even make 50% of their total sales.

Lil Wayne : 1005545 + 308505 (-69%) + 209305 (-32%) = 1,523,355 Taylor Swift : 1046718 + 319701 (-70%) + 211778 (-34%) = 1,578,197 Lady Gaga : 1,108,000 + 200,000? (-82%) + 132,000? (-33%?) = 1,440,000 Source
