Btw was it posted that over 70% of Bey's sales came from physical copies? 240,000 of the 310,000 were bought in stores or online. That's why people who were using iTunes to gauge how well this era would do were so off base. Isn't that normal?

Most get majority of their sales from digital albums? With CD sales still leading digital album sales, how would that be? Other acts have seen a greater percentage of their debut sales come from the digital realm, but, most others getting the majority from digital/ I don't think so.

Most artists, digital albums are higher than physical.
Not like 80% digital, 20 physical.
more like 55% digital, 45% physical

If that were true why is it that we just had our first artist to cross 1million sold in digital sales?

If that were true why is it that we just had our first artist to cross 1million sold in digital sales? The big names sell more Cd's than digital for now. For most artists it probably doesn't even make sense to release a cd at this point....Most niche artists shouldn't even bother with a Cd release honestly. When you are only selling 100k or less during the first week, it's probably better just to do a digital only release.

Most sell more physical than digital. The exceptions are showing up more often but...physical CDs are still the biggest seller

Um. So I was definitely talking about first week sales, not overall sales. For most big names, majority of those sales come from digital, not physical.

Don't agree with that either
Of course there are exceptions, but this definitely doesn't apply to the majority
Although it could someday

NICKI!!! Instead of album sales going up with Superbass exploding, she's constantly been losing sales. I'm afraid she won't make it to 2XP. Drake didn't either. YM debut album curse!!!

Isn't a Super Bass a bonus track thats not all editions of the album? Probably why sales are going down.. lol
They should re-release Pink Friday with Super Bass and a few new tracks. :)

Florence's current tour (and U2 support) must really be having an effect on sales, it's crazy how this album keeps coming back.

I know it's common for albums to inch up a few positions on a sales decrease, but I can't think of many situations where an album reached a new PEAK (particularly in its second week) with a sales decrease. Good for Selena.

Probably people go and pick up the album, check the tracklist, then don't see it listed and put it back on the shelf. DUMB.

^Perhaps this also explains why it's been selling so much better than her other singles, even though they had strong airplay as well.

I'd be surprised if the tour alone accounted for Flo's album's big percentage gains, but who knows.
