Oh, record labels. I think know them. Didn't they expect Katy Perry to open with 700k? Yup.

I don't really think Blake has ever been a great album seller, so these are fantastic numbers for him. You're definitely right. His albums don't have legs, but his singles do. He's a big singles seller. He's never had a #1 full studio album before [he got a #1 with an EP], so this will be a big album cycle.

Blake Shelton will debut at #1 on next week's HITS Album Sales chart, but Sony will score four in the Top 5, including Adele, who has yet to fall below the #3 position in 21 weeks of release. Here's how it looks headed into Carmageddon.
*Blake Shelton (Warner Bros.) 110-115k *Incubus (Epic) 85-90k Adele (XL/Columbia) 75-80k *Chris Young (RCA Nashville) 70-75k Beyonce (Columbia) 65-70k *Colbie Caillat (Universal Republic) 60-65k Jason Aldean (Broken Bow) 40-45k Selena Gomez & the Scene (Hollywood) 30-35k *Theory of a Deadman (Roadrunner) 30-35k *Sublime with Rome (Fueled by Ramen) 30-35k Bad Meets Evil (Shady/Interscope) 27-30k Jackie Evancho (Columbia) 27-30k Lady Gaga (Interscope) 24-27k Justin Moore (Valory) 21-24k Now 38 (Capitol/EMI) 18-21k
I will be absolutely thrilled if Selena stays in the top 10. Just what I was hoping/predicting from her. :)

Nice to see Adele sticking to the top three, but it would be even nicer if she can increase her numbers from this week's chart.

Gaga really needs to haul ass back to the US, it should be stabilizing at this point with a current top ten hit.

Too? It's projected to sell less than 30K this week. I think there's something to that first-week Amazon discount affecting how the sales are holding up, at least in the first few months. Those who may have gotten the album down the road may have got it in that first week via Amazon.

Another ~20 percent drop for Gaga. At least she's coming back to the US to promote very soon.

Looks like Born This Way could fall below the weekly sales of Teenage Dream within the next few weeks, right when the two albums are about at the same sales total. Will be interesting to see which album wins out in the end (although singles-wise, it's obvious which album wins... TD destroys all other albums singles-wise). Sales for Incubus aren't so bad, especially considering the quality of their album. How can a band go steadily downhill for so long?

How much more promo can Gaga do? She's done just about all the shows in the US!

^ i won't be surprised if she does. she's bested expectations every other week.
and it's ABUNDANTLY clear now that lady gaga's 1st week sales were very inflated. She may not even make it to 2 million. we'll see how the holiday season goes. i still think she could drop a re-release in the last 2 weeks of december.

Lady Gaga messed up with the EOG video, if the video was better, the song would probably be at number 1 right now, and they album wouldve done better. That video was a momentum killer.

Teenage Dream has incredible momentum & i see it still maintaining it into the fall season unlike BTW..

I don't think they WILL, mind you, but it's perfectly possible.

The Fame's second disc was a completely separate album
So yes, I agree, one possibility is that she could release a 4th album

Not according to Billboard. In this thread we are talking about the album chart, where The Fame/Fame Monster package was treated as a re-release of The Fame. I'm not quite sure what you're going on about.

I'm not quite sure what you're going on about. I am going to assume you knew that BB200 listed The Fame Monster EP as a separate chart entry. Let me know if you think I am wrong. Anyway, if there is a re-release of Born This Way, it would be a 2nd disc since there isn't a lot of room left to add new songs to the 1st disc and the same thing would happen. A second disc available for purchase would chart as a completely different album

Bahaha We're pulling for you TD. 5 smash #1s singles >> 2 hot flops (whatever single #4 is), a weak #1 and a bland top 5 hit.
