Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper" enters the Hot 100 at #10. It's the teen star's highest-charting solo hit to date, surpassing "Here We Go Again," which peaked at #15 in 2009. Lovato and her Camp Rock co-star Joe Jonas teamed in 2008 for "This Is Me," which reached #9. (The billing was Camp Rock Cast.)

Lovato has been overshadowed on the Hot 100 by fellow Disney Channel stars Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez & the Scene. But she is finally having her moment.

"Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock tops the Hot 100 for the third straight week. The smash spent four weeks at #1 in the U.K. in April and May. It's the first song to spend three or more weeks at #1 in both countries since "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis, which held the top spot for three weeks on both sides of the Atlantic.

Lil Wayne's "How To Love" jumps from #7 to #6, tying "A Milli" from 2008 as his highest-charting strictly solo hit to date. Lil Wayne has amassed 15 top 10 hits since 2004, but the other 13 have been collabos. The mid-tempo "How To Love" is from the artist's long-awaited Tha Carter IV album, which is due Aug. 29. It will also include the previous hits "6 Foot 7 Foot" (featuring Cory Gunz) and "John" (featuring Rick Ross).

Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight" holds at #9. It also tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The record has the super-tight dynamics of such previous top 10 hits as Hanson's "MMMBop," Metro Station's "Shake It" and Cobra Starship's "Good Girls Go Bad" (featuring Leighton Meester).

Here's the low-down on this week's top 10 songs.

1. LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock, "Party Rock Anthem." The song holds at #1 for the third week in its 17th week on the chart. This is its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #1 (215K).

2. Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer, "Give Me Everything." The former #1 song holds at #2 for the third week in its 16th week on the chart. This is its 11th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #6 (136K).

3. Katy Perry, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)." The song jumps to #3 following four weeks at #4. This is its fifth week in the top 10; its eighth week on the chart. Will it become the fifth #1 from Teenage Dream, matching the record set by Michael Jackson's Bad? Stay tuned. Digital sales rank: #3 (172K).

4. Adele, "Rolling In The Deep." The former #1 smash dips from #3 to #4 in its 28th week on the chart. This is its 16th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #8 (130K).

5. Nicki Minaj, "Super Bass." The song holds at #5 for the fourth week in its 12th week on the chart. This is its sixth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #4 (155K).

6. Lil Wayne, "How To Love." The song jumps from #7 to #6 in its eighth week on the chart. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #5 (137K).

7. Lady Gaga, "The Edge Of Glory." The song dips from #6 to #7 in its 10th week on the chart. This is its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #13 (91K).

8. OneRepublic, "Good Life." The song holds at #8 for the second week in its 16th week on the chart. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #10 (114K).

9. Hot Chelle Rae, "Tonight Tonight." The song holds at #9 for the second week in its 14th week on the chart. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #7 (131K).

10. Demi Lovato, "Skyscraper." This new entry is the teen star's highest-charting solo hit to date, surpassing "Here We Go Again," which peaked at #15 in 2009. Digital sales rank: #2 (176K).

"E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West drops from #10 to #12 in its 23rd week on the chart. It logged 20 weeks in the top 10.

Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem," which peaked at #7 four weeks ago, holds at #11 for the fourth straight week. Digital sales rank: #9 (116K). The song refers to country legend George Jones, who never came close to a top 10 pop hit. His highest-charting song on the Hot 100 was "White Lightning," which reached #73 in 1959.

Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" jumps from #17 to #13 in its sixth week..."Lighters" by Bad Meets Evil featuring Bruno Mars leaps from #33 to #17 in its fifth week. This nearly matches the song's #16 debut (and peak, so far) in June...Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had" drops from #23 (its peak, so far) to #25 in its seventh week. I keep waiting for the song to break through. So, no doubt, does Beyonce.

Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" jumps from #46 to #38 in its 12th week. The sleeper hit has been circulating for more than a year. It first hit the Rock Songs chart in January. The song has a quirky, left-of-center sound that recalls such hits Owl City's "Fireflies" and Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy." Both of those songs reached #1.

"Right There" by Nicole Scherzinger featuring 50 Cent jumps from #52 to #39 in its ninth week. Could this possibly sound more like a Rihanna record? I don't see how.

"Booty Wurk (One Cheek At A Time)" by T-Pain featuring Joey Galaxy debuts at #44. It took some of the steam out of T-Pain's ebullient "Best Love Song" (featuring Chris Brown), which dips from #48 (its peak, so far) to #49 in its 17th week.

"Don't You Wanna Stay," Jason Aldean's collabo with Kelly Clarkson, re-enters the chart at #48. This is its 27th week on the chart. The song initially peaked at #31 in April. The song has sold 1,476,000 copies, which makes it the best-selling country collabo in digital history.

Blake Shelton's "God Gave Me You" debuts at #65. It's the follow-up to "Honey Bee," which debuted and peaked at #13 in April. Both songs are from Shelton's new album Red River Blue, which enters The Billboard 200 at #1 this week. You already know that if you read Chart Watch: Albums. If you missed it, here's a link.

Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel..." debuts at #76. The group reached the top 10 in 2009 with the aforementioned "Good Girls Go Bad," featuring Leighton Meester...Colbie Caillat's "What If" debuts at #77. The song is vying to become Caillat's fifth top 30 hit, following "Bubbly," "Realize," "Fallin' For You" and "I Do"...Blink-182's "Up All Night" debuts at #85. It's the first single from the group's upcoming album Neighborhoods. The group reached the top 10 in 2000 with "All The Small Things."

Adele's "Someone Like You" re-enters the chart at #97. The song debuted (and peaked, for now) at #65 in February (the same week that her album 21 debuted at #1 on The Billboard 200). It will be interesting to see if Adele can meaningfully follow (with, say, a top 10 hit) a monster hit like "Rolling In The Deep."

"Let It Rock" by Kevin Rudolph featuring Lil Wayne tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. The song, which the two artists co-wrote, reached #5 in October 2008. It's Lil Wayne's third 4 million-seller, following his own "Lollipop" (featuring Static Major) and Jay Sean's "Down," on which he was featured.

Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)" tops the 3 million mark in digital sales. It's Rihanna's sixth song to reach that plateau, a tally equaled only by Katy Perry. "Only Girl (In The World)" hit #1 in December and won a Grammy in February as Best Dance Recording.

"Billionaire" by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars tops the 3 million mark this week. The song hit #4 in June 2010. It's Mars' third 3-million seller, following his own "Just The Way You Are" and "Grenade." It's McCoy's first. "Cupid's Chokehold," his biggest hit with Gym Class Heroes, has sold 1,918,000 copies.

This week marks the 50th anniversary of Billboard's adult contemporary chart. The top 10 AC acts of all time, according to Billboard, are Elton John, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand (the top woman on the list), Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers (the top country crossover act), Chicago (the top group), Billy Joel, Carpenters (the top duo), Lionel Richie (the top R&B crossover act) and Anne Murray.

The AC format was pretty stodgy in the 1960s. The Beatles didn't crack the crack the AC chart (which was formerly called easy listening, middle-road or pop-standard) until November 1969, when they scored with George Harrison's sublime ballad "Something" (a song that no less an authority than Frank Sinatra called one of the best love songs ever written). But the format has gotten hipper in the past few decades, witness the strong showings by such acts as Elton John and Billy Joel, who are very much in the pop/rock tradition of the Beatles.

Neil Diamond's irresistible 1969 smash "Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good)," is percolating on Hot Digital Songs. The song, which was Diamond's first top five hit, has sold 1,377,000 digital copies. Some of these were bought by people who are just discovering Diamond. Wait ‘til they hear such gems as "Cracklin' Rosie," "Solitary Man," "Shilo," "You Got To Me" and "Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show," to name just a few.

R.I.P.: Jerry Ragovoy, who composed several landmark hits in the 1960s, died last week at age 80. Ragovoy wrote "Cry Baby," a top five hit in 1963 for Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters; "Time Is On My Side," the first top 10 hit for the Rolling Stones; and "Piece Of My Heart," a top 20 hit for Big Brother & the Holding Company. The latter song was the only top 40 hit that Janis Joplin had in her lifetime.

but billboard credited S&M for britney. without the remix S&M will stuck at #2 forever.

If it were based solely on sales, then we would have way too many flavor of the weeks in the chart. Imagine all those Glee, Jonas Brothers, Jusitn Bieber, Taylor Swift, etc. songs that were popular for four days on iTunes charting in the top 5 on the Hot 100.

Besides, the Hot 100 is meant to show what are the most popular in the country, and airplay has to count for that or else it just shows what people are downloading.

^ Yes I see what you mean, but on the other hand, lesser known artists who have high digital sales will have lower charting singles just because radio refuses to play them or gives them low airplay. I just believe airplay should have its own chart and not be included in the official charts as radio is very biased, and only plays what they want to play.

im confused why is DYWS with Jason Aldean and KC just re-entering now...Were it's recurrent airplay and AC/pop/HotAC with digital sales not strong enough to keep in on the top 100 before?

Isn't it because it's now getting pushed at AC/Hot AC and pop radio that they're now allowing it to re-enter the Hot 100 after it was initially purged for being on the chart for more than 20 weeks and dropping below #50?

^Well, it was still "low" in airplay back then, so it was probably hovering in the 51-60 range forever and with AC and hot AC still increasing DYWS, it finally was able to crack the top 50 and re-enter.
