How was your week? Mine’s been decent but it’s really awkward and weird without my brother Michael (he moved into his new apartment on Monday). I went to the mall in the middle of the week to get some fancy Bath & Body Works hand soap and a cute bookmark with golden retrievers on it! OH and I found out that an old friend of mine from high school got arrested for grand theft auto in December. That’s always nice to know. But anyway, enough about me, onto the chart!

Well, I’m gonna level with you guys – I had every intention to give Heart the #1 single of the week, as their live cover of “Stairway To Heaven” is flawless and they deserve a #1 hit with this era (the closest they got was in September when “Walkin’ Good” reached #2). However, I noticed that Lita Ford has spent a total of 51 weeks at #1 on my chart, meaning, if she got one more week in, she would’ve had a whole year at #1! So because the queen deserves all the records in the world, she is #1 again this week with “Aslylum”. But don’t count Heart out juuust yet ;) Although they have a bunch of competition – Jewel & Kelly Clarkson enter the top five with “Foolish Games”, as well as Christina Aguilera with her hot Oasis remake, “Let There Be Love”. Aerosmith & Carrie Underwood are also getting pretty close with “Can’t Stop Loving You”. Plus there’s Mariah daaahhhling at #9. Landmarx. So yeah, YAY competition! Your girlfriend’s the competition, she’s the competition…. Sorry about that guys. How Dragonette of me.

Only one new top 10 entry – Dave Grohl and Corey Taylor’s “From Can To Can’t”. The Doors suck. Other notable climbers include Heart’s “A Million Miles” (15-11), Rush’s “The Anarchist” (16-13) (both bands are the cover story of the April issue of JT40 Magazine!), Girls Aloud’s “On The Metro” (18-14), Lita Ford’s “Relentless” (23-18), Tori Amos’s “Flavor” (26-19), Slash’s “Anastasia” (28-22), Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” (29-23), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s “Thrift Shop” (31-26), Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack” (34-27), and Daughtry’s “In The Air Tonight” (36-30).

The week’s… higest debut! is none other than Dave Grohl yet again! This time he teams up with Fleetwood Mac’s leading lady Stevie Nicks on a track called, “You Can’t Fix This”. Other debuts include the 1.0 line-up of the Sugababes under the name MKS with their interpretation of Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools (Drank)”, called “Lay Down In Swimming Pools”, but that is not the only thing we’re laying down this week! British rapper K Koke and Rita Ora debut with “Lay Down Your Weapons”, and speaking of Brits, Olly Murs debuts with “Army Of Two”, the follow-up to his JT40 #3 smash, “Troublemaker”, which drops off this week.

Alrighty, now that we got my random rambling out of the way, it’s time for Evil Song Of The Week! This week, I will be spotlighting a song that I reviewed in my aforementioned April issue of JT40 Magazine. It’s a collaboration between Fergie’s bitch who makes even great artists such as Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Mick Jagger suck, and the most feminine girl in the music industry. These two awful excuses for artists unite together for one ball of shittiness in this song! Tonight’s evil song of the week is Will.I.Am. and Justin Bieber with “#thatPOWER”. If you haven’t heard it yet, unfortunately, here it is.



I will admit that Bieber’s part in this song isn’t THAT bad, but the rest of this song is typical Will.I.Am bulls**t. Seriously, this sounds NO different from his other stuff. At this point he is about as original as Nickelback. And WHAT IN THE HELL is with that title?? “#thatPOWER”? Dude, this is the music industry, not Twitter. Hashtags are only okay in two circumstances – 1) when writing a number, like #1, #2, #3, etc. and 2) on Twitter. If you use hashtags anywhere else, you’re being ridiculous. Hashtags are not acceptable on Facebook, hashtags are not acceptable in e-mails, hashtags are not acceptable in text messages, and hashtags are DEFINITELY not acceptable in song titles! STOP WITH THE HASHTAGS. ALL OF YOU. GOD.
