Hello Kitty. :S I'm in shock.
I think Falling Fast is my favourite. Classic Avril.

HTNGU, Bitchin Summer, Let Me Go, GYWYL, Bad Girl, Hello Kitty, Hello Heartache and Falling Fast made the album for me I love that this is a step foward, she has grown in this album as an artist, trying new sounds, lyrics, vocals... everything. I cant with SOS and YASNY, but the the rest of the album is great. I need to listen it a few more times, but i rly like it. The influences of Chad (nickelback), Manson, David Hodges (Evanescence-Christina Perry) and Sarah Mclachlan (in Falling Fast) did great. Also I can see a lot of Ke$ha in Hello Kitty verses, but I also can see a lot of Avril in Kesha, so this is confusing.

Give You What You Like is absolute BLISS. It's one of the best things she's ever done.
It's the climax of the album imo.

Bad Girl sounds like it was off a Pretty Reckless album. It's like she's channeling Taylor Momsen. I love this sound for her.

and Sarah Mclachlan (in Falling Fast) You hit it right on the mark! Her vocals are so Sarah. I heard it right away, especially when she does those high "oh" notes. We all know Avril loves Sarah's Adia. Falling Fast is very reminiscent of that song.

This is easily my favorite album of hers. As a whole it really, really works, and the only track I would have thrown out is "Bitchin' Summer." Even creepy-as-hell "Bad Girl" and dubstep "Hello Kitty" work for me. It has the best of old Avril with some good modernization.
Still confused why "Here's to Never Growing Up" was the first single though. Easily one of the least memorable tracks.

The artwork for this album just really confounds me. What was her label thinking? So far all the music I've heard has been good, but I don't think that cover isn't going to do her any favors... (I say this all from a marketing perspective)

This album is amazing, great job Avril! 100% improvement over Goodbye Lullaby. However I'm still baffled by the decision they made to release Here's To Never Growing Up and Rock N Roll, the album is full of better choices.

I do enjoy HTNGU as 1st single, RnR otherwise... i like the song, but it wasnt a good single choice and the charts didnt lie. Looking to the whole album now, Bitchin Summer would make better. Give You What You Like is single worth too. Hello Kitty is a risk, but they need to try it in Jp-Korea at least.

Haven't given it a full listen yet but just for a handful of tracks on the stream this may be my favorite album released this year. I like it better than "Bangerz" and "Prism". Very eclectic in its offerings!

I need to give this a chance. I didn't end up loving Goodbye Lullaby and I only like one of the three singles, but apparently the rest of the cd is much better?

Give You What You Like, Bad Girl, Hello Heartache, Falling Fast and Hush Hush are all some of the strongest things she's done in her career, but it's contrasted with some of my least favorite things she's done like Let Me Go, You Aint Seen Nothing Yet and Sippin On Sunshine. I've never been so impressed by her material, but I've also never disliked songs on a release from her before. To be delivering some of the best songs in your catalog on your 5th album is a pretty good accomplishment though, in my mind at least. Stream the album!

I love this album! Still think 17 could have led off the album or even "B Summer" being that we were heading into summer.

Bitchin' Summer does have a lot more hook than HTNGU, but HTNGU was playing it safe. It's not that Here's To Never Growing Up or Rock n Roll don't represent the album like I thought, because it's so all over the place that no particular song that represents it. I think it's a mistake not representing the adult side though. Her CHR ship has sailed and she has a couple REALLY good mature potential singles on this album. 17 has A LOT more AC crossover appeal then R&R. 1. Bitchin' Summer/ Here's To Never Growing Up 2. 17 3. Hello Heartache 4. Give You What You Like 5. Let Me Go (feat. Chad) Is what I would do.

Reading the extremely positive reception to some of the new tracks has caused me to bust out "I'm With You" and now I'm officially excited for this era. Can't wait for next Tuesday!

This album has some gems... GYWYL is easily one of her best songs ever. The versatility of her vocals in this album is something that I rly admire too. Even as a fan I wasnt expecting this album to have such great songs. I wish she could have at least more 3 singles, but I doubt it.
1 - HTNGU 2 - Bitchin' Summer 3 - Let Me Go 4 - Give You what You Like 5 - Falling Fast or Hush Hush 6 - Hello Kitty or Bad Girl

^I'm not sure what market(s) you're gunning for with those single choices. I love "Give You What You Like," "Falling Fast" & "Hush Hush," but none of them should be singles, especially not for radio. Nor should "Hello Kitty" ever leave Japan in a single capacity.
I think "17" is the only song left that has huge hit potential, especially right now in fall/winter and given its nostalgia theme.
Also, let's be real, there won't be more than one more single from this project, as much as they would love to call "Let Me Go" the first single.

The other choices like Let Me Go, Hush Hush and Falling Fast shows a more adult side from her and she needs to show it more often, even if they aren't big success, they have the capacity to change the image of the artist. With almost 30 years it's about time for her to release material that looks more mature than her first album. Bad Girl-Hello Kitty would be a different kind of sound for her and as last single it would work more as a test to see how the public react to something rly different. It's not everyday you see a popstar playing with Marilyn Manson!

Just finished listening to the album. What the hell were they thinking by not releasing Give You What You Like as the 2nd or even 1st single? That song is her best ever! Hello Kitty could be a great club single. Loving Bad Girl's 80s demo production although it gets annoying after a few listens, the Nickelback cover was good too.

I'm glad people like it. I've shipped Avril hard for a long time, but this is my least favourite of hers. I hope it does well though.

I've loved this girl since she started Let go, Classic. UMS, great artist development. B-sides, why I stan. Whatever that crappy Dr Luke album was, I over looked. GL, a few gems. THIS wtf? Give You What You Like is the only thing on this album thats enjoyable. What really makes me mad though is her voice has never sounded better and I loved that she took some production risks with some of the songs but the material is just so completely soul-less. Also I kinda like 17 but I've heard this from Avril a billion times before.

Oh, thank God. Even though I liked the three singles, I was very worried I wouldn't like this album, but it's actually really good. "Give You What You Like" is amazing. It should've been the first single.
