Buble easily with the second-highest audience for AIWFCIY. Maybe it will debut on the Hot 100 one of these weeks.
BTW- "The One That Got Away" moved 18-10* on the new BDS/Billboard airplay chart, so it really moved into the top 10 with yesterday's info. :)

Buble easily with the second-highest audience for AIWFCIY. Maybe it will debut on the Hot 100 one of these weeks. It should as airplay is still rising and the song is nearing the top 100 of the Itunes chart. I believe "Oh Santa" never even reached 11m last year and it debuted, even if it was number 100. I can't wait to see what the peak total is this year for all versions of AIWFCIY is combined!

Not really the place, perhaps, but any idea why they haven't started to include Digital Sales to Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs or Hot Country Songs? Both charts used to rely equally on sales and airplay, and there are currently genre digital song sales charts...

That is a good question.
I know with the R&B chart at least, they included sales from particular markets/stores rather than just taking nationwide sales for all songs categorized as R&B -- I imagine they view that as impossible with digital sales since those are all nationwide?
I don't think that's a very good argument though.

Both charts used to rely equally on sales and airplay, and there are currently genre digital song sales charts... I can't remember where, maybe an old Fred Bronson column, but I seem to recall reading that Billboard consulted the labels and they preferred those charts being airplay charts. Likely since crossover songs would skew the results For example, LeAnn Rimes' version of "How Do I Live" not making the country Top 40 but sailing to number two on the Hot 100. But since iTunes has separate genre charts for R&B and Country I don't know why they can't filter it.

But since iTunes has separate genre charts for R&B and Country I don't know why they can't filter it. I think, at least in regard to R&B, the iTunes genre chart isn't as representative. For example, currently, not one of the Top 10 on iTunes R&B is even in the Top 30 at Urban radio (withstanding Fool For You being a hit at Urban AC). That factor, seems to be the norm and not the exception. I'd probably go out on a limb and say that the R&B market isn't really comparative to the digital market. Incorporating digital sales would basically make the R&B/Hip-Hop chart look like a Rap chart since the R&B side would suffer extensively.

Thanks, Diego. Could you add the Bieber/Carey duet and Carey's "When Christmas Comes" to the extras? I forget if you're the one who goes through and adds these. :) It was at 3.4m or so a couple of days ago.
When does Taylor Swift's "Ours" go for official country play?

^Yes- happens every year, as both Thanksgiving day and the day after Thanksgiving- when holiday play really kicks in- are taken out of the 7-day rolling period. It will bounce back, on its way to an eventual peak of ~61 million.
Right now, AIWFCIY appears in the top 40 on the AC and Pop Golds charts- No. 8 on AC Golds (2,448 spins) and No. 6 Pop (438 spins). It was in yesterday's Urban top 40, but slips out with today's update.
The full top 40 on AC Golds is holiday tracks, while only AIWFCIY and "Jingle Bell Rock" appear in the top 40 on Pop Golds (yesterday, there were three additional titles). The only format other than AC that gives holiday tracks decent play at this time are Urban AC and Urban (which currently house 16 titles and eight titles on their top 40 Golds charts, respectively).

Oh cool, I wasn't even aware that there was a pop golds chart? What does it look like? Is that the same as the recurrent chart?

^ From the looks of it, the Golds charts are for 2008-and-earlier tracks, while the recurrent charts are for 2009-on tracks.
The current No. 1 Pop Golds chart is "Use Somebody." The oldest non-holiday track currently on the chart is "I'll Be Missing You" (No. 21)- it's the only one from the 90s in the top 40.

AIWFCIY is running a bit behind last year's tally right now- the Dec. 4, 2010 update showed it at 44.443m. It then saw five days of 1m+ gains thereafter- +1.562m on the update posted 12/16 and +1.144m on the update posted 12/21. Its biggest gains came- as expected- for the days reflecting Dec. 23, 24 and 25 (gaining 2m+ on each of those three days).

I'm guessing Michael Buble's newer version might be cutting into her airplay a bit this year.

I'm guessing Michael Buble's newer version might be cutting into her airplay a bit this year. You mean Justin Bieber? Bublé hasn't covered AIWFCIY.
