Very good points! As much as I detest the slowness of the AT40 shows, at least they are accurate in relation to the Mediabase airplay data.

That said, I like Rick's charts because they tend to move faster. But that doesn't excuse major inaccuracies like this one. At least the songs should be moving up or down parallel to what the movements are on Mediabase, outside of the two week lag time.

I don't know, but at least all those listed (except Kathy Griffin) are music acts, unlike the actors and authors often on AT40, which does seem to have cut back on the celeb chitchat lately.

I'm sorry. I'm having a big laugh now seeing "Lights" stalled out at #35 for three weeks in a row when it is up to #8 on the Mediabase CHR chart with it's biggest bullet yet! What a joke this chart is turning into! And this includes his Hot AC chart which had "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" take an 18 spot plunge down to #30 this week even though it's still solidly in the Mediabase Hot AC top 10! Not good.

Great questions! I'm not sure what he is doing either. His charts have always used the "dartboard" method, but at least keep it somewhat within the realm of the actual Mediabase charts. That's great that he has songs peak higher on his charts, but you can't throw a song under the bus so to speak when the song is still climbing the charts, and in this particular case even has an outside shot at number one! That's what makes it a joke.

Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 is a joke anyway, no offense. It's just a show for casual people, not for chart purists. The producers screw up all the time and drop songs randomly; r

Recently there's been "Turn Me On", which has been forgotten for a week and dropped from #2 to off the chart.
Then, "Turn Up The Music" was dropped from #12 to off the charts as well in a single week.
Finally, last year, production was dropping songs way too fast, and made "Just Can't Get Enough" climb back up 17 spots for no reason in a single week. The worst is that Rick called it as "down a few spots".

Rick should fire his production team and come up with a quality countdown. The guy's lovable, but the production sucks balls.

Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 is a joke anyway, no offense. It's just a show for casual people, not for chart purists. The producers screw up all the time and drop songs randomly; r

Recently there's been "Turn Me On", which has been forgotten for a week and dropped from #2 to off the chart.
Then, "Turn Up The Music" was dropped from #12 to off the charts as well in a single week.
Finally, last year, production was dropping songs way too fast, and made "Just Can't Get Enough" climb back up 17 spots for no reason in a single week. The worst is that Rick called it as "down a few spots".

Rick should fire his production team and come up with a quality countdown. The guy's lovable, but the production sucks balls.
