It's getting close to number 1 on Itunes (already ahead of its serious rivals as the Jason Mraz song has very little airplay) and the end of airplay tracking for next week will be in 10 days. With the way the song is exploding, it could be at 90m+ by then. |

At the risk of being accused of being here for one artist, amazing update for SFTTR. :o And 7 million Americans already legally own this song so it being #2 on iTunes (soon to be #1 unless some other random big selling for a few days song comes along) is just crazy even by Adele standards. It's looking like she's going to do the double again (#1 song and album in the same week). I can't imagine that would be a regular occurrence on the the 3rd single from the album and it being over 12 months between the release of the first single and release of the 3rd! The Beatles? Although they used to release singles within a few weeks of each other in those days, which would make the feat much easier. |

^Makes sense, but most of these year-end countdowns are top 100 and whatnot, aren't they? So that would be "equal" play, in a sense, with the bigger year-end titles. Ah, well- it is what it is. :)

I think, although WFL was in some/a lot of countdowns, it is the most played song, so it lost the most plays (in theory) due to countdowns. And just like the other countdown songs was only played that one time in the countdown (or however many times the countdown was played). So now it has in theory the most to gain back.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk about Selena Gomez's "Love You Like a Love Song." This song was released as a single like 6-8 months ago and it still hasn't peaked. That's pretty incredible.
