The Cupid Shuffle? Oh my gosh! I never knew what that song was called. It's a blast to dance to though, that's for sure.

It's a high school homecoming dance staple, nothing more. You must still be in high school. That song is still everywhere. Never heard it any of my High School dances. I remember the Cha Cha Slide and the Stanky Legg (that's what you get when you allow the kids to make the song list). ETA: But then again, I only went to two dances in High School (both in Grade 12). Dances were banned compeltely across the entire school board at one point because too many kids were dirty dancing/ doing drugs/ alcohol etc. We were only allowed to have proms. No idea why they came back in Grade 12 though. "We Found Love" reached the 3 million mark in just 16 weeks, faster than any song since "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg blitzed to the 3 million mark in just 12 weeks last spring. Ummm......??? She has so many remixes and features. Must not be easy to remember them all Another typo from Grein. Low never went #1 in the UK; Right Round did

Interesting to note, (and correct me if I'm wrong on this) this is the first time ever a song has gone back to #1 after already spending so many weeks at #1. Breaking the record of Nelly/ Kelly's Dilemma which went back to #1 after having already spent 7 weeks there. Also, I've noticed, of all the songs to go 10+ weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, only two had an interruption in their run at #1: Dilemma and We Belong Together. Both were interrupted by an American Idol coronation song. Every other 10+ weeker did all their weeks in a row. Will Rihanna join this list next week? :o Didn't "The Sign" by Ace of Base make a return trip to #1 after falling to #2 for like 4 weeks?

Yes, but The Sign only had 4 weeks at #1 before its interruption. Rihanna's had 8.

Yes, but The Sign only had 4 weeks at #1 before its interruption. Rihanna's had 8. but it had a longer interruption. I think it was Bump N Grind that pushed it down for 4 weeks.

But my post was talking about the number weeks before the interruption; not the length of the interruption itself.

It's a high school homecoming dance staple, nothing more. You must still be in high school. That song is still everywhere. I graduated two years ago and haven't heard it since. Also *thrilled about "Stronger's" re-entry. It could jump pretty deep into the top 40 next week *I'm amazed that "Shake It Out" is holding up so well. An 11-week chart run is much more than I could have asked for for that one, and it just reached a new peak! *I hope "We Are Young" reaches a nice peak, but I'll be pleased with the two non-consecutive weeks it got, as long as the album debuts nicely *"Safe and Sound" is holding up well. with the movie coming up in March, it could even be a moderate hit. *"Set Fire to the Rain" is a smash. #1 in two weeks? ^^ I don't think a Hot 100 has ever had more songs that I'm in love with than this one does. That there are 29 songs I like in the Hot 100 is damn impressive. 2012 looks to be a great year for pop music.

It's quite depressing seeing that, a rock band can have simultaneously a #2 hit on Alternative radio and a Top Five placement on Active Rock radio..............and is still only good enough for a rough equivalent of #122 on the Billboard Hot 100.
*
As predicted, Skrillex has about equaled his biggest hit yet to date, and he has yet to release his first full-length effort.
Whether Skrillex actually desires to go all out and aim for greater radio exposure in particular remains to be seen. He has produced re-mixes of popular Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and La Roux singles, among others, and has produced both of Korn's latest hits from their current "dubstep" influenced album..............but at the same time he appears to be more than satisfied doing his own thing and relishing in a DIY-centric, made-from-scratch approach without spending any money on additional promotion.
At any rate, he is a true up-and-coming force to reckon with, and he could very well conquer the mainstream if he was insistent on doing so.
Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

01 05 04 Don't Stop (Color On The Walls), Foster The People
Hopefully this enters the big chart soon.. They're still a one hit wonder with a gold selling album.

Their still charting debut single from their still charting debut album was a big hit. Probably too soon to tag the "one-hit wonder" label, even though there is no immediate followup.

True, but personally I was disappointed that Helena Beat never got it going after PUK. Was expecting it to do well on sales at least. We all know it's impossible for them to get another pop radio smash from this album (and in the future probably too).

Helena Beat was top 10 on Alternative and I don't think was ever sent for Mainstream Pop.

Helena Beat was top 10 on Alternative and I don't think was ever sent for Mainstream Pop. I don't recall ever seeing an adds date for that. It probably wouldn't have stood up nearly as closely to "Pumped Up Kicks" at any rate. I think they were wise to push "Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)" as the mainstream follow-up, personally (though I feel, even that, won't get nearly as much net airplay). Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

ohhh I just saw those digital numbers.
The catalog is the complete sales numbers up until this week right? Because I know there is a digital chart that only contains "current" totals when in reality sometimes the numbers are higher or whatever.

No, no, no.
There's no difference between catalog and current sales, physically or digitally, albums or songs.
The difference is between "digital TRACKS" and "digital SONGS".
Each different version of the same "song" is considered a different "track" (a remix for instance). Therefore, a "song" is the sum of multiple "tracks". Hence the different totals.
"Catalog or "current" is related to time, not versions.
