Mariah's probably done it multiple times. What albums? I can only think of one and that one needed a re-release.

How much time did TD spend in the top 20? Only 8 before falling to 22 (and climbing back again later). It spent its first 54 weeks inside the top 25, however. Question: Do all airplay formats use a 7-day rolling chart? BDS? BDS probaly has a rolling chart somewhere in their system, but their daily updates are building. Regardless, both companies only publish 7-day charts, so the end result is the same (except for the different ending day and stations).

Yah- I really can't think of any album (without a re-release) that had three singles surpass 150 million audience in the all-formats era (December 1998-present, when it became possible).

I definitely think Breakaway would've been the Teenage Dream of yesteryear. It's a no-brainer. Defff. That's exactly what the entire TD era reminded me of actually, in terms of everything being a smash hit, to the album closing chartings of "Walk Away/The One That Got Away". Kelly's obviously was more spectacular and did more for her overall, kind of like what "Emancipation of MiMi" did for Mariah. I know people always compare those 2 eras a lot.

A few hairs away then. But as the wise Brandy once told us, almost doesn't count.

It's not really comparable since the panel is constantly changing and lately the trend has been to ADD stations. That is why we have had so many new spin peak records. It isn't a reflection of the material or dominance, necessarily.

Well, first I don't think anyone should be surprised by the drop with Madonna, though the haters will spin it around, but if she can get through the 3 day period with 25-30 million that would be good, as I expect her drop another 20 million by Sunday.

Of course there should be no surprise- the big drop was completely expected, as the first day of the CC promo was removed. And tomorrow the second day will be removed, which probably will bring a decline of 12m+. And the nthe third day may bring a decline of 8m+. So, yeah, another overall 20m decline by Sunday.
In essence, the drop indicates that GMAYL gained another 2.8m+ from yesterday's numbers.

Holidayguy, do you think the drop will be as high as 12 mill tomorrow, the reason I ask, is I would have thought that the Friday had more spins do to remix shows and AT40 that plays mosty on Sat. and Sun. Hmmm, we'll see.

The second-day gain was 15m+, so the loss may be a little larger than today's. Isn't it too early for it to show up on countdown shows? Unless it's an extra or future hit or something. Remix shows, whatnot, sure it may get played.

Isn't it common knowledge that it would happen? I mean, that shocked face by Madonna's update is so naive.

Wonderful to see Kelly still getting consistent huge gains. I feel she won't slow down until probably 100M AI that shocked face by Madonna's update is so naive. pretty much this

Hmmm, we'll see. I know I'm not holidayguy, but yes, "Give Me All Your Luvin'" had a better second day. It gained about 15.5 million AI on its second day, so it looks like it could drop even harder tomorrow. But this happens all the time. "Born This Way," "Hold It Against Me," "You Da One," and all other hyped singles released before their albums go through this.

Remix shows, whatnot, sure it may get played. I think he meant this won't be on AT40 yet, but can be on remix shows. So it will get more spins from the remix show Friday, but less from not being on AT40 and losing possible airplay time on Saturday/Sunday. This way, the losses could be bigger the next two days.

^Yes, I understand now. :) By the way- GMAYL reportedly is an "extra" on American Top 40 this week- so, a possible softening to the decline?

So, when it happens, we need to do something. But I know that this drop is so normal 'cause the gain last week was too big. No need to stress

I know AT40 airs on either Saturday or Sunday, depending on the market, so the effect could be spread over the two days. The expected drop for tomorrow probably would be around 12m or so, so we'll see.

lol, what I meant or thought, was wouldn't the loss be less, since she had less spins last Saturday, but didn't realize she had a larger gain on Sat. The reason I thought she would have less spins last Sat. was because of shows like AT40, that blocked her from airplay, get it. It's so hard to explan sometimes in this format, but now we all know that the song appeared this week so the total loss will be just a tad smaller. :)
