Radio is so odd. Clearly it's Onika, as that's what Nicki's real name is, but even though it sounds like the n-word, it gets cut.
However, on "My Humps" by BEP, it sounds like "I drive these f***ers crazy," when really it's "brothers." However, it wasn't bleeped either. Or "kick" in LoveGame sounding my "dick."

Love the song. It's such a high energy pick-me-up. I didn't really take notice of Nicki until now (although I thought she was terrific on the Britney remix).

Can you really say it clearly isn't just because 2 people...TWO FUCKING PEOPLE have stated that they heard the N Word? No, no you cannot.

Heard this on the radio tonight and Onika was again censored. It's probably just in case people mis-understand it, as some on here already have. Probably just to prevent lawsuits, because America is dumb like that.

Not gonna lie, I thought it was the "N" word until I looked up the lyrics But that reminds me of when BEP's "Don't phunk with my heart" was changed to "Don't mess with my Heart"..... Anyways, still loving this!!! Pop Nicki is on point

If you're not paying full attention, it might sound like the n-word, but whenever I listen to the song, I can clearly hear the "o" and "e" sounds being pronounced. Two sounds not present in the n-word. Unless the "i" in the n-word is supposed to sound like a long "e." I wasn't patronizing you or anyone else who heard the n-word at all. I used the term "clearly," because the official lyrics say "Onika," not the n-word. However, this was not my point. Radio shouldn't edit things because they sound like curse words. In fact, if radio edits them out, then that leads people to believe the artist is in fact saying things they really aren't. Such as the odd edit of the BEP's "Don't Phunk with My Heart." I had friends who thought the original was "Don't f**k with My Heart" just because they heard the weird radio edit. If it's not edited out, then people should use their common sense to realize that they heard the wrong word, and that the artist is saying another word.

My point was that 2-3 people is a small sampling size, so to make such a sweeping generalization is a bit foolish and misguided. The capitalized letters and curse word was only for emphasis. Whatever...

Whatever... It is a small sampling size but considering your sample is 2-3 people out of 3-4 people that actually commented, I don't even think it counts as a sample in the first place. Hence why I suggested you take a poll and actually see. Of course this is all just a technicality and has little-to-nothing to do with the topic at hand.

How many times have you heard rap/hip hop artists say "My name is Nig*a? They use the word all the time, so it does make sense...but really we are arguing this? Some People heard it as the "N word" some didn't...still think it's silly it get's edited out, but if 3 of us on Pulse who are die hard music fans heard it as "ni*ga" then is is understandable why radio may want to edited it out.... Anyways, loving the updates :) Fly to the top Nicki!!!

I agree with Multiple on this one. I understand people may miss understand it as something else, but we are also in a day of Internet. Google it. By bleeping it out it makes people think that is what she's saying. Unless them bleeping out her name was an ode to Kill Bill.

Nicki Minaj has to be the most tasteless popstar this side of Katy Perry and yet she continues to win me over every other single. There's a lot of dumb s**t going on here but, gah, I love it.

'Starships' does NOT translate well live at all.. it's kind of cringeworthy live.
Though I love the studio version.

I agree. She's never been very good when I've watched her perform.
I have not seen Starships live, though.

She was fun when I saw her open for Britney. Other than the Grammys, I haven't seen any of her televised performances, though.

Did she not perform Starships? I don't get why she would promote Turn Me On and not a future single from her album... At least her backup dancers were hot.
