Now all of those people that say she did it naturally can bite their tongues maybe? We should all make sure we know the exact sales number the day before the re-released version comes out so we can use that for proper bragging rights because we all know the re-released version will sell like hot cakes.

Now if that's not "milking it", I don't know what is...

The re-release is still unconfirmed. It might not happen.

Sounds to me like it's going to be some deluxe edition that'll feature the Skyfall theme (probably) and a couple of other odds and ends rather than a full on re-release. If it happens. Now all of those people that say she did it naturally can bite their tongues maybe? Why? Because there's going to be re-release in six months time that means she didn't do it 'naturally' up until now?

Part of an article that discusses this
Still, until an official announcement is made, this news is worth taking with a grain of salt; Adele's been the focus of plenty of rumors lately, and reports have had her doing everything from taking a five-year hiatus to recording the theme song to the next James Bond movie. All we know for sure is that '21' is still sitting pretty on the Billboard charts (where itfs currently at a healthy No. 4 in its 63rd week of release), and with or without bonus tracks, that seems unlikely to change any time soon.

I am sort of expecting at least two more versions of 21-like, a deluxe version which is what this sounds like and some sort of anniversary version down the road. A lot of albums do have deluxe or special versions and a lot of classic cds have had some sort of anniversary edition. She will probably already be well past 10 million sold at that point anyway ha ha.

There has already been a Target-Deluxe with extra songs that boosted sales a bit

People like to use Adele as an example of someone that doesn't do re-releases or remixes or anything fancy to get a hit. Not that she needs it since we all know everything that has happened so far but it feels odd if they did have an actual full fledge re-release or a sudden deluxe edition.

The Target Deluxe Edition was released along with the CD during it's initial run. It was 4 live tracks. It wasn't a "re-release" that was released after the CD was already selling and it a stumble.

Aren't most deluxe editions the original CD plus extra tracks released during the original run?

^Also note that the article quoted above mentioned just the UK, might not be in the US.
My guess is that Adele couldn't care less about a re-release, and this is label-driven 100%.
Also, this has got me thinking... where is the line drawn with "deluxe editions" -- many (if not most) major albums come out now with a standard and deluxe version. It seems that the argument about repackaged versions of an album has solely to do with timing/promotion and not actually the fact that it's a release with more songs, or else that would apply to almost everyone at this point.

Aren't most deluxe editions the original CD plus extra tracks released during the original run? I'm saying that it was a version that was available Day 1. In your statement you made it seem as if it was released later on to boost sales. That was not the case. Still 10 million sold (we know it's gonna happen) pre-re-release (whew!) is still something we probably won't see for a long time.

What was the prediction for Lambert? Can't see it doing more than 60k.
And what's that Godsmack release? Not a new studio album? (haven't heard about that)

Good for Carrie, great for Adele. Carrie could be able to threepeat with all of these weak new releases, unless that 100k for Lambert is actually accurate (but I doubt it).

Excellent hold for Carrie!
^ I don't know about the "threepeat" though, Adele might hold tight. Tighter than Carrie, at least.

Gotye and Luke Bryan will have to fight it out for that top 10 spot... good for Lionel Richie hanging in there too!

Interesting how Gotye's album is doing so much better than fun's despite the similarities of their single success.

What promo does Carrie have this week? Dancing With the Stars, or am I making that up? I know she's appearing on American Idol the following week.
Adam has GMA, I think, and American Idol this week... so he might be able to challenge Carrie and Adele, assuming that they sink to around 70k because I don't know if he can go higher than that.
