The album release seems fine to me. IF she releases the first single during the holiday season, she could possibly break the record for the biggest sales in a single week. (Assuming she gives it a full week. ) The only thing I would worry about is her lead single suffering from "he freeze." I also think they are going for domination early next year. Most of the other girls' albums will have already been released, and by then all the focus will be on Gaga. Will she still be in the middle of her North American tour? If not, that may be another reason. A better chance to do some substantial promo.

The NA tour dates haven't been released yet. I'm sure they're planning that around her album release promo in huge detail. She's basically the promo queen.

Well, two of her three releases were in November so apparently she's not all that opposed to it. That was before she decided she didn't want to be a real pop star It is just frustrating because I feel like she would really do well with Christmas sales and every other pop star out there pumps em out like a factory to get those boosted Q4 sales. Then, she could have seriously sold an even more massive number first week with BTW (the single) but they were determined to release it on a weekend and get three days. Then they screwed Judas out of a higher peak by deciding to do that....AGAIN. Then some of her videos came out at weird times and then when they did come out they were 47 minute movie videos that no one wants to watch except us die hards. I just feel like timing and promo felt "off" or feels off for her after Fame Monster era ended though the first week promo for BTW (album) was pretty damn amazing. It isn't really a huge deal. I really do feel like if the music is good it won't matter either way though. Like, if she strings together 2-3 good hit singles she will be fine.

I like the first one better. I feel like this was taken when she did the BTW Remix cover or the cover for the BTW Collection or something. Ok definitely not the Remix cover. Kinda similar to the Collection cover. I definitely feel like I've seen this pretty much exactly before.

Is she reading the music boards? The terminology she's using now is too in line.

That's hot! Reminds me a little of Catwoman meets Kazaky meets beekeeper couture meets Madonna's "Human Nature" video outfits.

Via her twitter, looks like the album may be called Artpop (ARTPOP, ArTpOp). She got a tattoo of that, tweeting "new ink new album").

she also apparently said these were the singles she wanted for BTW:
1) BTW 2) Marry the Night 3) Scheisse 4) The Edge of Glory
I'm happy with what was released; I just think the era was messy with the rush release of TEOG and the subpar video for it. Also the other videos are too weird for the general public (but I adore them and wouldn't change it).

It seemed like that was something she pushed for. I reeeaaalllly wish Schiesse made it somehow.

Artpop sounds tacky as hell to be honest. Hopefully that's not the album title.

Yea. "ArtPop" doesn't sound cute & 'SchieBe' should've been the 5th single instead of 'Marry the Night'. I just hope the label doesn't play it safe again & make better decisions.

ArtPop just sounds like a more awkward phrasing of Pet Shop Boys' Pop Art

Art Pop is exactly what GaGa tries to do with everything she does. I think it's a very fitting album title.

I'm a fan of the title ARTPOP. It has a really epic vibe to it, and it describes her perfectly. Not quite as much as The Fame Monster, but it does sound pretty fun. It definitely gives my Andy Warhol vibes and I'm pretty sure Gaga has cited him as an influence multiple times. Maybe her album cover will be reflective of that (i.e. using the old Pop art styles for her album artwork)? Regardless, we can definitely expect a fun era with a few hit for them to push to radio this time around.
And this just in from her chats on LittleMonsters, but apparently Interscope rejected Lady Gaga's single choices during the Born This Way era and changed it. She had it this way originally: 1. Born This Way 2. Marry The Night 3. Scheisse 4. The Edge of Glory They substituted in Judas because they felt it would have been an easy hit. The underperformance of Judas caused the rush release of The Edge of Glory, which received a lot of positive reception when it was released to iTunes.
This part would be unconfirmed, but I read that Gaga could not get the director she wanted for the EOG music video because of this rush release (he was probably working on something else) and thus has to settle with Kahn, who had artistic disagreements with her.
We know how everything went from there.

I am, of course, approaching this where in hindsight it is easier to see what went wrong, but I sort of wish they had done something like this- Born This Way TEOG Hair You and I Scheibe
The first three are pretty much the only truly radio friendly ones on the cd. I just don't get MTN as a single at all. Stick the excellent, but risky one last. I still support You and I being released-I have so many friends who started loving her just because of that song. It definitely made a slightly different audience pay attention to her and I think it is an excellent song for her singles catalog. I guess it really doesn't matter now though.
For some reason, I don't hate ArtPop. I would be surprised if that is the title that she is planning on unveiling in September and then she already unveiled it now though. I wonder if perhaps it is a song title instead?

I have friends who hate pretty much all her singles, but loved TEOG and Y&I. Still not fans but definitely loved those songs. So good choices, imo.

So, I know she got the tattoo of it and such, but is ARTPOP really the album title? I would like GaGa to confirm, but I thought we weren't getting the title till September. ??? Am I the only one who thinks Heavy Metal Lover reeks of unexpected smash? I don't know if it would have smashed or not, but I would have loved to see it as a single, flop or not.

1. Born This Way 2. Marry The Night 3. Scheisse 4. The Edge of Glory I think the era would have played out better for her had they been released in that order. 'Judas' is much more radio offensive than 'Scheisse'. 'You and I' and 'Heavy Metal Lover' being released after those four would have been perfect!

Most people would have no clue what Scheisse means. Although the gibberish would hurt it, most likely.
