Amazon taking the loss this time around, the $5.99 price is probably the lowest they would be willing to go to drive sales on their end and still make some money. I am interested to see how much this contributes to the total during the first week. Has Amazon discounted anyone else's album in it's first day/week of release? It seems odd that Gaga is the recipient of such a wonderful deal again.

Just picked up my copy of the album, and I must say the album cover looks so much better in person than just seeing a pic of it. Has a really cool gloss and shine to it. I noticed the album sticker mentions Venus in addition to the first two singles. I'm really afraid Gaga is going to demand Venus be the 3rd single.

Any news on updated first week predictions? No. The album just came out! Retailers have only been open 8 hours! We might get a number tomorrow from HITS. Billboard may give us a figure as well. Wednesday afternoon is when we usually get first week estimates. I think she may blow past 400k.

The entire album was just added to Spotify. Wonder if this will eat into sales.

Purchased this on Amazon this morning for $5.99. Not a bad album at all and much more cohesive than BTW. The standouts:
GUY Do What U Want Swine Donnatella Fashion! Mary Jane Holland

I would like to believe some stores will carry the deluxe, not that I see it'll see much b/c it's just three remixes of 'Applause' on it. It saddens me to say 'Applause' is one of the best songs on the album when I find it to be very basic. It has grown on me a tad over the past few months, but still... After hearing the whole album, I understand why this is ranked pretty low compared to her previous work. I love the productions on here, but like I said earlier, a lot of it is overproduced & it seems to work in her favor since these songs are missing something & not catchy/bubbly like her older stuff. Naturally I enjoy the themes, however, they are too overshadowed by the loud noise. Lol 'Dope' & 'Gypsy' are my least favorite songs. 'Aura' would be up there w/'DWUW', 'Penis' & 'Fashion!' as my faves had they kept the f**kin' demo version... 'Donatella''s lyrics are pretty obnoxious. Lol Overall, this is a 6.7-7.2ish out of 10 for me. This isn't as immediate like her other stuff, especially like the first half of "BTW". I enjoy DJWS & Zedd sonically, but they didn't make magic like RedOne or Fernando Garibay have done. I rank this below "BTW" & above "THE FAME". There are a handful of songs on here I like...a handful of songs that are ok...and a handful where I am just like, "huh?" This is a 5.5 for me. My fave albums for me are: The Fame Monster, Born this Way, The Fame, and then Artpop.

I've only listened to the album once, and I don't have a strong opinion of it yet. Hearing the studio version for the first time, I like "Dope" a lot more now.

Initially, I was nervous knowing that DJWS was going to be the musical director/producer for this era the same way Fernando was with Born This Way. But after hearing the album officially front to back today, I'm completely fine if he stays on board permanently with her. He's so much more versatile than I imagined he would be, going from tracks like Jewels N' Drugs to Do What U Want to Swine to ARTPOP. I was crazy obsessed with Born This Way, but I think this album is going to be my favorite. I see this being a timeless Gaga album.

The entire album was just added to Spotify. Wonder if this will eat into sales. Probably. If I were her I would have waited a week. It will help sell individual tracks though. Regarding Metacritic, I think the score is pretty fair. Artpop is a great album buried by overproduction and bad mixing, so even critics who like it aren't giving 9's and 10's. Also, 64 is fine for a pop album. Prism and Bangerz scored almost identical (62 and 61). It's interesting because their opening week sales will probably match the metascore breakdown--Gaga slightly ahead (325-350K), then Katy (286K), then Miley slightly behind (270K).

I usually work 13-14 hours on Mondays, so I had to order my copy from Amazon. It was waiting at my door when I got home tonight. <3

I think "Gypsy" is my fave. The only other song with that same title that I live for is the Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac classic. Work it Gaga!

The only songs that I do not care for are: Mary Jane Holland, G.U.Y. and Gypsy. I prefer the Swinefest (Itunes) festival version of Sexxx Dreams but the studio version is also enjoyable and is my top track at the moment.

What if some crazy Gaga fans bought thousands and thousands of copies of Eminem last week just to return them this week? Would that count as negative sales for him? Krazy.
Anyway, just listened to the album for the first time.

HMV in Halifax will have 60 copies of the deluxe and 100 copies of the regular. SCORE!

Double the impact. I was just thinking how ridiculous and scandalous that would be if some of her krazy stans actually did that. Throwing predictions off balance and stuff. It's certainly an idea for future competitions. *snickers*

Don't understand how some of y'all can't like G.U.Y. lol. The lyrics makes sense and are clever and the melody & hooks work so well. It's basically like an upgraded The Fame single with TFM qualities, all things considered. Not overproduced like some of the other stuff on the album.
Yes, I will stan for this song until it's released as a single. I'd want it 3rd if I didn't think it would be a bad idea to do it and DWUW back-to-back.

I just realized the brilliance of finishing the album with Dope, Gypsy, and Applause. And ode to fans, an ode to her touring life, and a final anthem that fuses the two together. It's beautifully poetic.
