The article says 260,000, it is just mentioning the previous forecast was 300,000 to 350,000. Either way she is in the same ballpark with Katy and Miley and they are supposedly at the height of their career and Gaga is supposedly at a low point LOL.
What is important is that Gaga has a large fan base but she has lost alot of the casual (general public) support, however it looks like with Applause turning into a long lasting hit and Do What You Want looking very promising she could sustain good sales for quite awhile. So as long as you get good radio support first week sales are not everything!

People pick apart every word Gaga says nowadays, its frustrating. She definitely said some pretentious things during the beginning of the Born This Way era, but she's been so much more tame this era.

www.gaystarnews.com/article/lady-gaga-my-dream-was-piss-madonna081113Lady Gaga: 'My dream was to piss off Madonna' Two gay icons have locked horns once again after critics accused the Born This Way singer of copying Express Yourself 08 NOVEMBER 2013 | BY JOE MORGAN Lady Gaga has said her dream was to piss off Madonna. Looks like it worked. Bisexual singer Lady Gaga has said her dream was to piss off Madonna. The Bad Romance star has looked back on the plagiarism claims that were made after she released single ‘Born This Way’. Already being called a Madonna copycat at the time, many critics accused Gaga of copying Madonna’s ‘Express Yourself’. When the Queen of Pop revealed the setlist for her MDNA tour, she referenced the media storm by performing a mash-up of the two songs, as well as album track ‘She’s Not Me’. ‘I have to be really honest, I was completely kind of floored that Madonna was singing my song on her stage every night!’ Gaga told Attitude magazine. ‘I mean, Madonna’s… she’s Madonna. I looked up to her for a long time. I’m not quite sure what her intention was – to do that in the show, but I don’t really care. ‘I think playing into the gossip of the tabloids and, I guess the fodder of the competition, that’s just not what I’m about. ‘She chooses to use her voice the way she chooses to use hers and I choose to use mine the way I use mine. She added: ‘All it meant to me was that Madonna Ciccone was singing my song on her stage and I’m 27! ‘And as a punk-rocker from New York, I’ve basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna!’ Gaga said she ‘truthfully believes’ Born This Way and Express Yourself do not sound alike. ‘I don’t need to take anybody’s torch,’ she said. ‘I am over here and they are over there and if you feel connected to it the door is open for you to come in and enjoy this with us.’ Gaga’s third studio album ARTPOP is released worldwide on 11 November. Attitude, with the full interview, will be in shops on 13 November.

So, ARTPOP is amazing. I love pretty much all the tracks except for "Jewels N' Drugs" and "Dope".

Generally speaking, I consider myself part of the loss of casual support group. I used to legitimately like her a lot and she used to do a lot of entertaining things, but it seemed much more organic during TF/TFM years than it does in recent times. I even stayed up until 4am release day, or whatever time it was, because I was anticipating the Born This Way single release so much. Everything she does now feels overly calculated and lacking passion. Crying at the Youtube awards was yet another eye-rolling moment for me. When I see her do stuff like that, I know she has planned to cry while singing Dope for weeks and then the performance is just going through the motions of executing a premeditated attempt at appearing organic.
I also feel like the music is simply not as strong as it used to be. TF/TFM were brilliant cohesive bodies of work that ultimately solidified her. With the release of BTW and now ArtPop, she is so focused on having this huge record that she forgets what makes a record huge. It's like chasing a butterfly. The more you try to catch it, the less chance you have of catching it. TF and TFM were acclaimed releases because the people decided it and made them huge releases, not because GaGa did.
260,000 is a great start. Nobody I know likes the first single and her popularity has undeniably declined since 2011. The anticipation for a follow up to TFM is gone, so now it relies on the current music for success. The only concern I have, is although the start is good I don't hear anything to give it legs of a year+ after Do What U Want. She'll need legs to lead into the tour, so potentially a re-release is in the cards. I haven't bought the deluxe edition though, so maybe there's some gems there that I'm unaware of.

Cute outfit. At least she has talent to fall back on if she ever gives up the gimmicks.
I knew she was on the way out when her deposition leaked.

Still obsessed with this album.
It's definitely made it into my top 5 albums realsed this year, along with "The Civil Wars", "Wrapped In Red" and "Pure Heroine".
Crazy to think back on how much I had given up on stanning for her 2 years ago.I just find her so much more likable now.

I bought her album. Just because I don't have a completely favorable opinion of the body behind the music anymore doesn't make me troll. Just because it's not what you believe, contributing to discussion by presenting developed opinions is not trolling my good sir. #YouCan'tStopMyVoiceCauseYouDon'tOwnMyLife

You're one of the few members I've ever reported. You're baiting her biggest fans and you're aware of it. That's not to say that you haven't made valid points--I skimmed over some of them--but cool off. I know I'm Like The Lottery only said what he said because you provoked him. f you want to make this argument, there's a poll regarding the sales being lower than expected in the polling forum. Take the discussion there. Thanks and goodnight. I'm baiting by making valid points? Not sure why you're thinking I'm here bashing her sales and need to go to the "debuting with lower than expected" thread either. I said 260,000 is a great start. That's around what Miley and Katy did, and Katy had a bigger single/ Miley had more hype than the 3 of them combined. I'm allowed to say that I don't think her music is as strong as it used to be, especially if I've actually purchased her album and not just skimmed it over. Unlike a lot of people on message boards, I don't love everything every artist puts out. As multiple other posts I've seen, I don't hear any sure-fire singles after Do What U Want. I'm also allowed to say that after the BTW era, her personality became off-putting to me. If people are really upset by that, then I suppose the report button exists for a reason.

I feel the exact same way, but Gaga's won me back this era with quality shit and funny stunts which outweigh the obnoxious, desperate ones. Clearly she still has a way to go, though.

--------- 77 LADY GAGA Gypsy 85 0 85 0.742 --------- 100 LADY GAGA MANiCURE 60 0 60 0.484 --------- 103 LADY GAGA Sexxx Dreams 58 0 58 0.472 --------- 152 LADY GAGA G.U.Y. 26 0 26 0.258 Radio is obviously gunning for Gypsy to be the next single. I'm a little surprised to see G.U.Y. with the least spins but it should be the 4th single anyways. MANiCURE is rightfully above Sexxx Dreams and should be the 5th and final single of the era. lol, radio isn't gunning for anything. Those are the songs that z100 played (or was told to play) on the album release day. It was a radio blitz. Dude, chill. I know there was a radio deal but why did some songs got played more than others? That kinda does seem a bit weird.

^ He should've used "Slap honey on your pancake" "Touch me all over my body parts" "I am a woman of choice" "I need you more than dope" "You could be my little gypsy princess"
