From what I remember, she did an amazing job last night! I loved the performances, but I was a little wasted so I need to re-watch everything again.
I respect everyone's opinions, but I'm just having a hard time accepting everyone's rankings of "Fashion!". Am I hearing the same song you guys are?

Just watched a couple of the sketches. I'm very well aware that it's meant to be sarcastic, but it just felt like SNL made her admit that "Born This Way" sounds that similar to "Express Yourself". AND made her acknowledge all that "her career is dwindling, she will be forgotten" talk. Also that "Do What You Want" performance was poorly rehearsed and cringe-worthy. That's the main objective for anybody hosting/in a skit on SNL: to take whatever public scandal/scrutiny/opinions are out there and lampoon them. It's smart PR.

I feel left out w/all this SNL talk. I missed everything :'(
'Fashion!''s bassline & Gaga's vocals are the main components that draws to me liking that song.
I feel like I have to be on some hardcore drug in order to fully grasp & enjoy 'Swine' & 'Mary Jane Holland'.
'Dope' & 'Gypsy' are still my least favorite songs on the album.
I said this in the Polling Booth that I feel 'G.U.Y.' or 'Gypsy' will become the third single, although I want 'Venus' to have that honor.

I just watched the DWYW performance on YouTube. I wish she had done that solo, like the European performance and saved the duet for the big stage at AMAs. There was something really creepy about it. For a song about sexual chemistry between two people, the did not come across in any way. Ga still sounded good, but I was expecting something more sensual (like the crazy beat of the song), than what was presented. On the plus side, her stint on SNL has been garnering mostly positive reviews by various media, so that's good!

I thought for sure she was lipping but it was evident she was not in Gypsy. Had never heard it before. Really looked like she was having fun with it. It is a whimsical and fun track.

I just watched the "Do What U Want" performance again. It is major! This is such a great track, I really need this to smash. :(

She came across as fun and self-deprecating on SNL. I especially loved the future/has-been skit with Kenan. Great performances of "Applause" and "Gypsy," although I wish the backing track on the latter hadn't drowned her vocals so much. DWUW was messy, but still love the song.
Back to her career overall, I think she's simply hit the point that all pop stars hit where the novelty has worn off and she just isn't the flavor of the month anymore. The same thing will eventually happen to Katy, Miley, and Lorde, just as it happened to Madonna, Mariah, and Whitney. It just seems like a bigger fall for Gaga because she was such a MASSIVE star from 2008-2011. But just because she's probably peaked doesn't mean she can't still have successful career resurgences from time to time (see: Kelly, Pink, etc.). I think she'll continue to make great music and gain the respect of her peers, and she'll always have her Monsters to bolster her sales and attend her shows. She seems to be in a good place this era and is clearly aware of her current brand power, so I expect her to keep pushing forward and I'll gladly go along for the ride.

Re-watched SNL again. She did do a really good job, however in all her skits she has trouble hiding her NY accent - referring to the skits outside the Apartment panel + OldGa. She would make a phenomenal Yetta if The Nanny ever gets a revival! I thought it was genius to poke fun at the Born This Way/Express Yourself lameness. She's showing her not so serious side without actually saying "Yes, my song definitely reeks Express Yourself." It brought out an unexpected laughfest for me.
I personally loved the Do What U Want performance, I didn't think it was that awkward at all. This hopefully will help give it that boost for radio and future sales.

She killed it on SNL, she's such a great sketch actress. Love how she poked fun at herself. And that opening number was AMAZING, she could definitely be a star on Broadway someday.

I didn't like the apartment co-op board skit or the 2063-Lady-Gaga skit but otherwise, she did really well. She killed the monologue and the BTW/EY moment was clever. Good episode overall. I loved both performances! Was hoping to see more of a boost on iTunes for Applause/DWUW/Gypsy but oh well.
Also hoping that her performance last night hints that she's going with Gypsy as the 3rd single, not Venus

I just saw the DWYW performance from last night. They sounded great but it was SO ridiculous and over-the-top I couldn't stop laughing.

I'm sorry but this disjointed robotic crazy add butch routine for DWYW is awful. Like MJ on acid. Just DELIVER WOMAN! Stop with this nonsense.

I thought the New York accent was on purpose. She doesn't usually have it in interviews. She could do a great Cyndi Lauper.
It seems the episode is being regarded as one of the best of the year and in a while. I'm so pleased with all the praise for it.

Am I seeing the same DWUW performance as you guys? Cause really, the one I watched had a great vocal delivery, spot-on choreography (even if it was minimal) and nothing over-the-top or laughable about her interaction with R. Kelly.

She turned that DWUW performance OUT! It's quickly becoming my favorite Gaga song so far.

She was really fun on SNL. BUT those performances were messes, especially the unrehearsed, super awkward "Do What U Want" one. She looked like a drunk white girl at a club for the first time ever. And then what was even happening during "Gypsy"? At least her vocals were on point throughout both of them. Also, when R. Kelly was lying on top of her.

Just watched her opening monologue again. Definitely one of the best in the show's history. She KILLED it.

I really want the future skit. Is it anywhere to download? Don't they put skits up on iTunes?

Just watched her opening monologue again. Definitely one of the best in the show's history. She KILLED it. That for me is the biggest highlight so far of this era. It was so precise, clean, sexy, and humorous. She nailed it!!

Also, when R. Kelly was lying on top of her. I loved that he did push-ups on her.

Now that I've absorbed the album it's MILES better than BTW. "Swine" is probably my favorite song of hers EVER. My fav tracks:
Swine Do What U Want Donatella Fashion!
But honestly I love the ENTIRE album except that awful ass track "Dope". I don't care how many albums this sells this is AMAZING.

I like SWINE but I could never see if being a single. I have came to love VENUS. I hope we get a solo studio version of DWUW. Its hard for me to support that song bc of R Kelly (13 yr olds anyone??)
GUY is very catchy also!
