I am wondering if any of this is not for a single at all but video backdrop for the tour?

Do we have any confirmation that Gags is PERFORMING on Jimmy Fallon? Because if she is, that means we should know the new single within the next 2 days (...assuming she performs the new single) I am wondering if any of this is not for a single at all but video backdrop for the tour? That is what one article reported, although I'm not quite sure why there would be backup dancers in tour film footage. I think she might be doing both.

So little short videos have leaked with GUY and Venus. This may be old (I haven't been around much), but I wonder if she is shooting a double video for both? Or maybe just tour backdrops?

I am actually bizarrely re-interested in this era now though after they pretty much killed my interest after screwing over DWUW and then her randomly taking a month off in the middle of a cd campaign.

I still think anything but Gypsy will be a huge bomb given the era has zero momentum right now. I really do hope it's a new song at this point.

Yeah I don't see GUY or Venus doing anything, but she seems dead-set against releasing the most radio-ready and friendly song on the cd so I guess it will either be GUY, Venus, or a new song. I would almost prefer the new song. ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/85768562.html#commentsVideos here

Guys, she doesn't need safe songs. Her "safe songs" will perform average and will continue the current trend. She needs something great, huge and shocking. "Gypsy" is great, but I don't see a reason why should it perform significantly better than other songs. On the other hand they decided which song is the next single so it's pointless discussing it any further. We just don't know and that will change any time before mid March.

^I agree with that. I think this album is good, much better than Born This Way but none of these songs are revolutionary except for maybe DWUW (I still think that would've made a really interesting lead single choice.)
This album probably would've smashed had it been the followup to The Fame era but now people are cold to her and the only thing that I think would win back the GP would be a game-changer record like the singles from her first era.

I don't see how Gypsy will suddenly re-launch the era. GUY or Venus are both catchy and have some sort of a 'shock' value.

I kind of agree with Rocky. She released the two "safest" singles already. May as well do something that'll get people talking. I'm ok with 'G.U.Y.' honestly. There were much worse choices. I could see it being G.U.Y., Venus, or Temple. I don't care, I want a classic Gaga video and I want it to smash. Temple?

People are so over Gaga trying to be shocking that I am not sure her being shocking even more will suddenly be loved by everyone, but maybe I am wrong and people will love it again. At least I am praying she isn't doing the same type of shock value stuff that people are totally over including some of the awkward DWUW stuff no one was shocked by. Let's hope GUY and Venus are #1 smashes and that people aren't wanting songs like Paparazzi and Edge of Glory from her. Hoping my misgivings are wrong :) At the very least we should get a cool video from her.

That and 'Applause' are two of her safest releases. They clearly didn't work, so may as well do something else.

Let's hope GUY and Venus are #1 smashes I don't think that would ever happen. And besides, I'm still not convinced she is recording a music video for either song. Why would they be playing both songs if they are only shooting 1 music video? GAGA COME OT THE RESCUE

I think there's an ARTPOP trilogy. Aura/Venus/G.U.Y.

I'm glad I'm not managing her right now. I'm anxious to see what they have up their sleeve to regenerate interest in her. I agree with those saying that ARTPOP is dead. I am interested if they are going to try and resuscitate it, or simply move on. The upcoming tour makes me think that whatever they choose, they'll have to tie it to ARTPOP (I.e. Artpop part II, even if the new material was completely separate from the original Artpop creative period)

I still think anything but Gypsy will be a huge bomb given the era has zero momentum right now. There's no guarantee that that inferior copy of 'The Edge of Glory' would be a hit, either. Besides, considering Gaga built her entire career on being weird and off-center, people clearly don't want "safe" from her. 'G.U.Y.' is the correct choice.

It's not like the music, though, has been weird and off-center (especially most of the singles). The persona she presents is sometimes at odds with the music she releases.

I am re-looking at the artRAVE dates, how the hell is there only 1 show at MSG? She needs to add more because all the shows around me are sold out. Is she planning a 2nd leg of her North American tour in spring 2015 or something?
