It might be a day or two early for this thread, but HITS posted this on Friday:
Maroon 5 and Linkin Park have something in common. The two bands have big-money/high-pressure albums hitting next Tuesday (6/26), and the latest projections have both at around 200k—meaning they’ll likely be in a battle for #1 not just with each other but also with Justin Bieber’s Believe, which will then be in its second week

I think it's gonna be: LP M5 JB. The charts are starting to heat up EDIT: Never mind. I forgot Bieb's 1st week isn't out yet. LOL

LOL Bieber's first week is the other thread - which has not been posted as complete yet. This is Bieber - week 2, which started today . The other two albums have not been released yet (but will shortly)

I thought M5 might do a little lower and LP a little higher (so, something like 250K LP, 170L M5, and 140K JB second week). I guess that is still possible. I am rooting for LP to get it. That will be an EXCELLENT hold for JB if he really challenges for #1 again and ends up dropping only 50% or something.

I think Bieber will be around 175k so that'll take him out of the running.

If Bieber was frontloaded like the projections signaled then yes I don't think he'll pull off a less than 60% second week decline. I think Maroon 5 will nab the top spot

175K could still do it, the 200K prediction is more of a theory anyway

It probably is but he has released a solid album which will satisfy pop fans in general, not just teens.

iTunes: Linkin Park #1, Maroon 5 #2 and #8, Justin #5.
Might be a prediction of who will come out on top.

I love that Hits estimated sales before a single copy was even on sale. LOL

Don't forget about R. Kelly. He probably won't get 200k, but 150k-175k wouldn't be surprising.

The album is expected to debut at or near the top on next week's HITS chart, where it will battle it out with Maroon 5's Overexposed. "Burn It Down," the debut single from the album, is #1 at both Active and Mainstream Rock, making it the band's tenth chart -topping single. Rolling Stone calls the song "one of their best singles yet." To mark the album release, the band perform two consecutive nights on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow and Thursday nights. They will also perform a private show at Club Nokia at L.A. Live on June 29 that will be streamed live on Myspace www.myspace.com/livestream/linkinpark at 11 p.m. (PST)/8 p.m. (EST). A very limited number of tickets will be available free for Linkin Park Underground fan club members at www.lpunderground.com. They embark on the 2012 Honda Civic Tour with Incubus and Mutemath, starting Aug. 11 in Bristow, VA, at Jiffy Lube Live.

Don't forget about R. Kelly. He probably won't get 200k, but 150k-175k wouldn't be surprising. True, but he's not a contender for the #1 spot. He'll more than likely debut at #4 or #5.

I'm pulling for LP but figure M5 will take it. Adam Levine's profile has certainly increased since his judging stunt. I don't really like him or his 'voice' much. I did like MLJ and Payphone stays in my head (not a good thing when u don't like the singer).

When was the last time Adele was out of the top 5? It's #6 in the latest chart, but: ^Perhaps final SoundScan numbers will have 21 in the top 5. 21 ranked No. 7 on the December 10, 2011 chart.

Thanks to you both.
Yeah it looks like there's a chance Soundscan might place her at #5 or even #4 this week despite HITS' numbers. It's too close of a call. Either way, I don't expect it to leave the top ten until September or so and even then who's to say it won't be back in the weeks following.

So it's basically up to the promo they do at this point and hope that helps?
Maroon 5 were on Letterman last night, and LP have Kimmel today. Anyone else know what they have lined up this week?
