Chart Week of 2013. December 7 (week 49) |
"Do What U Want" holds at #1 for a sixth consecutive week. Its total points are at 1.998M, and will be 2X Platinum next week.
"Team" by Lorde jumps #5-2 this week. Eminem's collabo with Rihanna, "The Monster" stays at #3 for a second week. It's vying to became Rihanna's 22nd chart topper. "Timber" by Ke$ha and Pitbull falls #2-4 after spending five straight weeks there. It peaked at #1. "Hard Out Here" by Lily Allen moves #6-5.
HAIM's "The Wire" slips #4-6. "Human" by Christina Perri jumps #9-7, getting a new peak. Fall Out Boy's "Just One Yesterday" slips #7-8 and Lady Gaga's "Applause" drops #8-9. Klangerussell's and Will Heard's "Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)" jumps #20-10 closing the top tier.
"Follow Your Arrow" by Kacey Musgraves jumpst #39-15. The highest debut is "Sorry" by Naya Rivera featuring Big Sean which enters at #63. A spot below, DJ Earworm's 2013 mashup, titled "Living the Fantasy" made its debut. It may possibly outpeak his "Shine Brighter" of last year which peaked at #3, but debuted a few weeks later. Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" is the second holiday song to enter the chart this year. It's at #94.
And the points of the last positions are rising quickly. A few weeks ago a song could debut with 5,000 points, and now 27,000 is barely enough. There are 9 songs that would chart last week, but could not make it now. I'm thinking about a bubbling under chart starting the first week of January. |

• Great Top 5! • Awesome to see "Human", "Just One Yesterday" and "Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)" in the Top 10. • "Overdose", "Kill Your Heroes" and "Story of My Life" jump, while "Let Me Go", "Sweater Weather", "This is Gospel" and "La La La" climb back. • "Harlem", "Under Control" and "Alien" debut. So incredible for the latters. • "Work Bitch" falls (again) :(

WORST SONGS OF 2013
Honourable mentions: "That's My Kind Of Night", "Cruise" (original; it made my worst of 2012 list or something), "I Wish" by Cher Lloyd, Hunter Hayes and every horrible trash-rap song peaking this year.
"The Fox" - I love Ylvis' songs, but seriously... why this one? It's freaking horrendous. The reason it's low on the list, that it was meant to be a joke, not real music to listen to. "Bubble Butt" - It's tolerable when you're in that kind of a party where you're drunk enough to dance your ass off. It's not for listening to it at home as actual music, it makes your ears bleed. "Started From The Bottom" - Too repetitive. And Drake, stop lying. "Boys Round Here" or what the hell. This is why most people outside the US can't stand country. Why do they need to destroy the reputation of this fantastic genre? Why? Blake, please, retire. "Bugatti" - SHUT UP! "Harlem Shake" - It was funny for a day, but no please, I want to forget it. And it's worse than "Bubble Butt". "#ThePower" or whatever. Fucking hell NO. Justin's voice in this is annoying as hell. "International Smile" - I can't imagine how could her fantastic team put this garbage on the album. If they release it as a single, I'll hide under a rock and curse her and everyone involved in creating it. I'm sure she is. "Chinese Food" - What? This is not even funny like "Friday". Disgusting. AAAaaand the winner IS:
The complete butchery of "Crazy Kids" by William James Adams. Congratz Billy. {The List} WORST SONGS OF 2013 01. will.i.am's verse in "Crazy Kids" 02. "Chinese Food" - Alison Gold 03. "International Smile" - Katy Perry 04. "#ThatPOWER" - will.i.am feat. Justin B. 05. "Harlem Shake" - Baauer 06. "Bugatti" - Ace Hood 07. "Boys Round Here" - Blake Shelton 08. "Started From The Bottom" - Drake 09. "Bubble Butt" - Major Lazer 10. "The Fox" - Ylvis

Best Songs of 2013I tried to compile a top 20 list, the main rule was that the song included here didn't enter the top 3 on my personal chart. And then I only included songs that peaked after the first week of 2013, that's why I have a song on the list that's still rising, but will probably be ineligible for next year (higher peak). One song per artist. The highest possible peak for a song listed is #4 and only 8 songs have seen the top ten. They will mostly place low on my year-end Top 100 chart.20. "Young & Beautiful" - Lana Del Rey 19. "Brave" - Sara Bareilles 18. "Beware" - Big Sean feat. Jhene Aiko & Lil Wayne 17. "Love Into The Light" - Ke$ha 16. "Baby I" - Ariana Grande 15. "How Many Drinks ?" - Miguel feat. Kendrick Lamar 14. "Final Warning" - Skylar Grey 13. "Attracting Flies" - AluneGeorge 12. "Hold On, We're Going Home" - Drake feat. Majid Jordan" 11. "What I Wouldn't Do" - Serena Ryder Although he was not the best charting, Big Sean undoubtedly became one of my favorite rappers. From these songs, only "Final Warning" managed to peak inside the top ten, spending 2 weeks at #10. It was overshadowed by her #1 hit, "Wear Me Out" which will not be one of my top 50 biggest songs of the year because of its poor longevity. "What I Wouldn't Do" is the follow up to the #1 hit "Stompa", but only peaked at #18 after taking forever to reach the top 20 and then to leave the chart.#10."Come Along" - Vicci Martinez feat. Cee Lo Green The cover of one of my all-time favorite songs, the haunting "Come Along" [Titiyo; - 2001]. I love how she made it a different song with the instruments and her great vocals.#09."Fire We Make" - Alicia Keys feat. Maxwell It was one of the best urban songs of the year and I'm always here for some Alicia. Their voices fit perfectly and there is some magic between them.#08."Crooked Smile" - J. Cole feat. TLC I loved him and I was waiting for him to come back. "Power Trip" is amazing, but this is another level. It's so beautiful, the lyrics are uplifting. Props to Jermaine, Tionna and Rozonde!#07."The Wire" - HAIM The song peaked three weeks ago, at #4, so I will include it. Such a lovable, quality indie pop. <3 The lyrics are gold as well as the bass guitar backing it. I'll sure check their album whenever I need some new songs.#06."Dirty Laundry" - Kelly Rowland A honest, heartfelt ballad sang with such powerful vocals? It's always welcome. This is one of her best songs ever, imo.The top 5 is coming soon with a pop song, a country song, an alternative rock song and two urban songs. Year-end Top 100 sometimes after Christmas or on Christmas Day.

"The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)" is really good. At least, it was #10 on your Worst Songs from 2013. "Chinese Food" should be #1 tbh.
Good to see "Brave", "Attracting Flies" and "The Wire" on your Best Songs of 2013. Sadly, the AlunaGeorge song is not going to be higher on your Year-end Top 100 Chart Expecting the Top 5 though~

#05."Q.U.E.E.N." - Janelle Monaé feat. Erykah Badu The song where Janelle's futuristic r'n'b vision shows off the best, it's addictive as hell. I recommend it for everyone who's looking for some chill out music.#04."Follow Your Arrow" - Kacey Musgraves It would have been on the list only for its amazing lyrics, but it's much more fun than for example "Same Love" from the category. I fell in love with this song, Kacey and her album.#03."Stay Awake" - Ellie Goulding First off, I love Ellie, she's one of my favorite artists. This little guy, Hugo is extremely talented and have some great works ("Mary Jane Holland, "Gypsy", "Venus"). They made this song together and I can see no flaws in it. It would be worth to re-release Halcyon only for this song.#02."Love And War" - Tamar Braxton It was released in late 2012, but it peaked at #10 on my chart in 2013. I was already pumped up on the first listen and it just went on and on. It's one of the best RnB ballads of the last 10 years and deserved more commercial success. Well, I'm grateful that it took off.#01."Do I Wanna Know?" - Arctic Monkeys And I'm here. It's the best rock song of 2013 at the very least. The guitars, Alex's voice, everything here is pure perfection. I hope that it will cross over in 2014. It should, it's worthy.josh ; Au$tin ; Codex ; @jf816 ; hitseeker. ; @gagalicious ; nick64 ; Lozzy ; Juan Carlos

Good to see "Follow Your Arrow" and "Do I Wanna Know?" in the Top 5, but "Stay Awake" should have been #1 honestly. I mean, it's . This little guy, Hugo is extremely talented and have some great works ("Mary Jane Holland, "Gypsy", "Venus"). :o I didn't know that Madeon co-produced "Venus"! You forgot to include "The City" and "Technicolor", but I will forgive you because you praised him and his work!

I'm confused why songs can't have made top 3? ??? What about those songs? #soconfused They'll get enough recognition in my Year-end top 100, and they would slay this list as well. I just wanted this to be free from pop gurls, etc. I gave the spotlight for these amazing little songs now.

Chart Week of 2013. December 21 (week 51) |
Yay, one more week left. "Team" stays at #1 for a second week and it has a bullet as well. Eminem's and Rihanna's "The Monster" somehow magically goes up a spot to #2, a new peak-to-date. It's party because of its music video that debuted during this chart week but it also has stable plays. Lady Gaga's "Do What U Want" slips #2-3 and this is the first occasion in the last four weeks that she doesn't have a song in the top two. She's still in the top 3 since the debut week of Applause 19 weeks ago. Lily Allen's "Hard Out Here" is a non-mover at #4 as well as Christina Perri's "Human" at #5. "The Wire" is up #7-6, while "Follow Your Arrow" moves up from #9 to #7. Pitbull's and Ke$ha's "Timber" drops #6-8. Klangkarussell's "Sonnentanz" gets a new a new peak (#9). Las Vegas Band Imagine Dragons scores their fourth top ten hit with "Bleeding Out" (#13-10). The first 3 were "It's Time" (#8); "Radioactive" (#8) and "Demons" (#4). Lady Gaga's "Applause" stays at #12 and has a bullet.
| | The highest new entry is "Drunk In Love" from Beyoncé's new album at #38. "G.U.Y." is down #11-13 but will be my next from ARTPOP as soon as DWUW is finally over. As the six weeks rolling period is over, the only charting album track that wasn't released as a standalone promo single is "G.U.Y." Britney managed to debut another track from BJ, "Chillin' With You" at #76. The power of Jamie Lynn. Speaking of Jamie Lynn, her own song, "How Could I Want More" jumps #98-66. Naya Rivera's "Sorry" jumps #32-20. My growing list of songs sitting under the top 100 passed 30 entries. If I keep it up like this, I'll have to introduce an 50 songs deep bubbling under. I won't. Beyoncé album tracks occupy the #103-110, #114-117 positions. |

Top 25 Artists of 2013
#25The LumineersThe alternative band scored two top ten hits this year making them my 25th most successful act of 2013. #24Fun.They were my #1 artist of 2012, but they managed to make the list with only !1! song in the year-end top 100 (and several others between #150-250). Waiting for the next album. #23AviciiThe second highest ranking DJ with 3 decent hits to his name. #22ParamoreThe band's self-titled album scored two top tens and a top 40 hit. #21PitbullEveryone's favorite club rapper was *this* close to reach top 20. #20Phillip PhillipsThe AI winner guy scored two top ten hits and a top 20 with his debut album. #19Calvin HarrisThe British singer-producer sent two songs in the top 10 in 2013. #18Katy PerryPop songstress Katy Perry scored a #1 and a #10 hit this year. #17Selena GomezI always liked her, but "Come & Get It" and "Slow Down" are perfections. Especially SD. She deserves to be on the list. #16Robin ThickeWith the power of "Blurred Lines" and "Give It 2 U" almost made the top 15. #15Serena RyderThe Canadian singer-songwriter had an #1 and two top 20 hits. #14LordeWith two number-one songs this year the 17 years old girl from New Zealand broke out big time. #13Jay-ZThe New York rapper finished like 10 spots higher thanks to his featured spot on Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie". He had two hits as a lead artist, "Holy Grail" (which features Justin) and the #29 peaking "Tom Ford". #12Taylor SwiftTaylor had a big year but was overshadowed by the acts doing well in the second half of the year. For example her biggest hit IKYWT had 1/3 of its points in 2012. #11Fall Out BoyOne of the biggest comeback this year, the alternative band had a big #1 song, and two additional top ten hits.

But remix boost this week. :( And if she really decide to release the video on Monday that should also boost it. It could go all the way back to #1, but gaining its bullet back is given. Selegend too low on that list. >:( I think she's relatively high. Only her singles charted and they peaked #3 and #5. I think the fact that she's above Katy is showing successful she was. :)

Top 25 Artists of 2013
#10P!nkP!nk had an amazing year again after being the #8 artist of 2012. With a huge #1 song, the longevity champ "True Love" and the late runs of the first two singles helped her. #09Bruno Mars"Locked Out Of Heaven" was too late into 2012 for him to appear on the year-end charts, but now, he's back. He had four top ten peaking songs and another hit with "When I Was Your Man". #08Miley CyrusThis is the first time ever that queen Hannah Montana was one of my top artist of a year. The #1 smash "We Can't Stop" and the #2 peaking "Wrecking Ball" and "23" did their jobs. #07Ellie GouldingEllie was #6 last year, but with the success of Halcyon Days got her second consecutive year-end top 10 placement. #06Ke$haMost of "Die Young"s chart run was in 2013, "C'mon" peaked at #4 and she got 4 other top tens with Warrior album tracks and "Crazy Kids", then "Timber" reached #1 too.

Fantastic genre and artist rankings! Glad to see Imagine Dragons, Gaga and others slaying on these and your chart as well. I'll be looking forward to your actual countdown. :)

Top 25 Artists of 2013#05Imagine DragonsGetting their first song chart in late 2012 Imagine Dragons have established themselves as hitmakers. "Radioactive", "Demons" and "Bleeding Out" all had impressive runs and "On Top Of The World" is still around there. #04Justin TimberlakeThe new king of pop and his successful comeback made almost got him in my top 3 artists of the year. "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors" were instant and The 20/20 years experience had some amazing songs. #03Macklemore & Ryan LewisOne of the most successful duos on my chart history ever. They had almost the same success as Justin with their first two singles, but they scored two additional hits as well giving them the edge. #02RihannaThe most consistent hitmaker of the last 10 years and she managed to get the #2 spot for the second consecutive year. #01Lady GagaOk, this is a surprise. Not for you, but for me definitely. She put out her first song this August, so had like 4.5 months to catch up to the others. She did it, and that's the most important. As you can see she got two songs in my year-end chart's top 25. And seven other above #250. It wasn't a huge lead, something like 13%, and Rihanna has 8% more points than Macklemore. Aaaand I'm currently listening to my physical copy of ARTPOP. :)

Amazing Top 5 tbh! Female artists domination in the Top 2.
As you can see she (Lady Gaga) got two songs in my year-end chart's top 25. Wait! Is it hinted that the single covers posted before belongs to the songs that made into the Top 25? :o
