She also only released 3 videos this era. One of them was very... I don't know how to say it... crotchy, vaginay, wordy? Though the other 2 videos were pretty damn good.

I think Wide Awake is a respectable video at the very least. The visuals are incredible; I feel like the reason people aren't so into it is because it feels a little incoherent at times without a real sense of direction (plot-wise). I'm definitely not surprised to see it nominated though.

As evidenced by Rihanna's first week sales, the Navy is not really that supportive of her so M.I.A. stands a chance based on how much and how high of a height her video SHITS on everyone else's.

if anything, [the last five minutes of] Marry The Night should be nominated.

The video would've gotten so much positive feedback if Gaga cut out the awful 10 minute story before the music. I'd also argue that the choreography in it is better than Rihanna's WHYB.

- Gotye deserved more nominations! New artist at the minimum. If Drake & Rihanna is allowed as a nom for drake, then Gotye should have been a nom for male video too.
- lmao at Rih nominated for Choreography few seconds of Madonna in Girl Gone Wild ate Rih's pussy pat alive, let alone Gaga in MTN.
- Britney could have had more love for Criminal or IWG

Brace yourselves guys, because the next artist CONFIRMED to perform at the 2012 VMAs is... GREEN DAY! Not only will the "Let Yourself Go" rockers be performing on the big night, but they're also slated to debut BRAND-NEW music from ¡Uno!, the first of their three forthcoming albums.

Their 2012 MTV VMA performance will be the fifth time the rockers grace the VMA stage (can you tell we're really into Green Day?), and as you might have already gathered, this year's show is on track to be a night of live music so good that if you miss it, you'll probably become a social pariah (plus, you'll miss out on all that good music!) Taylor Swift to perform at VMAs!
NEW YORK -- Six-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift will perform at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards next month. But she won't be the only gold winner in the room.

The U.S. Women's Gymnastics team - better known as the Fab 5 - will present at the Sept. 6 show. Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Alexandra Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber won the women's team gold medal this month. Douglas, Maroney and Raisman also won individual medals.

Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller will also present awards.

Drake and Rihanna lead with five nominations each. They'll battle Katy Perry, M.I.A. and Gotye for video of the year.

Comedian Kevin Hart will host the VMAs live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Performers include Green Day, Alicia Keys, Pink and One Direction.

Who wouldn't be excited to perform alongside great artists like Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Green Day, Pink and One Direction at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012? The star of a sci-fi flick "Battleship" and pop artist Rihanna is excited to learn that she would be performing with these equally-great players in the said music awards.

So thrilled Riri was that she tweeted a message in all capital letters, "PHUCK YES I WILLLL!!! JUST FOR MY NAVY!!!!" Her Twitter announcement was followed by a string of re-tweets her fans posted about her upcoming MTV awards performance.

Not only will the Bajan songstress have an opportunity to carry out her talent in the music ceremony, but she is indeed also proud to be nominated in 5 music categories which include Video of the Year and Best Female Video.

On Thursday, September 6, the MTV VMAs will go on air starting 8 P.M. ET. The show will be hosted by well-known American actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart. He starred on Comedy Central's 2009 TV series as a sorcerer named Zezelryck.

Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and Miley Cyrus are tapped as presenters along with the winning team of U.S. female gymnasts, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Alexandra Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber.
