We Found Love is easily the most impactful, buzzy video of the year. I'm not a huge fan, but even my friends who aren't into pop music really like the video and have talked about it with me.

But that terrible song that I still maintain is the worst hit of the year is also the biggest hit of the year, so that might win.

The songs I really like here are CMM and We Are Young, but the video for the latter isn't anything special. Some Nights, though...

As Rihanna and Chris will both be in the same place at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6, sources close to both artists tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that both of them would be willing to present an award together! Read on for the inside scoop.

Besides working together on the remix of Rihanna‘s song “Birthday Cake” earlier this year, Chris Brown and Rihanna have largely stayed away from each other in a professional setting. But with both pop stars nominated for awards this year at the MTV VMAs, they’ll both be at the event, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6. And sources say that the two are willing to come together on stage to present an award.

A source close to Rihanna tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that, if asked, Rihanna would be more than willing to stand on stage next to Chris. “That’s obvious. Hell yeah, she would. [There isn't anything] she wouldn’t do for that [him]. She’d do just about anything for him,” our source says.

And a source close to Chris says the same is true for his friend. “Why wouldn’t he? It would be the first time in a long…time that he would be on stage with his boo,” our insider tells us.

Only time will tell if Chris and Rihanna actually do appear on stage together. The Video Music Awards air live on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8:00/7:00C on MTV.

I think it's up for debate. I think the "Somebody That I Used To Know" video was massive. It made that song a viral hit which led to it's radio/sales/general domination. Parody on SNL. I'm ok with either one winning though, which is good, since I'm expecting Rihanna to pull it off.

Demi Lovato is set to heat up the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards by performing during the hour-long pre-show.

The X Factor USA judge will help get the ball rolling on the big night with a performance of her hit Give Your Heart A Break, ahead of the ceremony on 6th September.

Speaking of her involvement, Lovato said in a statement that she is honoured to be joining the "incredible musicians" on show at the event, adding: "I'm so excited to perform at the VMA pre-show. I can't believe it!

"I can't wait to be a part of all the action leading into an incredible night of music and fun."

As a part of MTV's 2012 Video Music Awards Pre-Show, MTV News' Sway Calloway, Jim Cantiello, James Montgomery and Christina Garibaldi will take viewers live to the vertical red carpet, behind the scenes and backstage with some of music's hottest stars.

Also on the carpet, British TV host and fashion expert Louise Roe will return as MTV's international guest correspondent for the second year in a row.

Lovato will get the party started for a sizzling roster of main-show performers that already includes the VMA debut of One Direction, as well as spots from Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Green Day and Pink.

Five-time 2012 VMA nominee Rihanna joined the line-up on Monday, along with the VMA performance debut of talked-about Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean.

Among the presenters also confirmed for the show are The Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, 2 Chainz, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and the Fierce Five - the U.S. Women's Olympics Gymnastics Team that won the team gold medal at the Lodnon 2012 Olympic Games.

The show will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and you can catch all the action from the 2012 MTV VMA on Friday, 7th September at 9pm only on MTV!

Well her last R&B hit was in 2010, so it's not like she's been huge in R&B the past couple years. Sure she's a bigger name but she's not Beyonce or Gaga or something.

What was share-worthy about the OD video? WFL should be in there, everyone was watching that. Otherwise, I agree. Gotye seems like the easy winner there. Perhaps that'll be his consolation for losing VOTY to Rihanna?

Funny you mention Beyonce when she sold about the same (actually less) than Alicia's last record so the bigger name is invalid when sales are factor in. We saw the result of Gaga's sales after her opening. Just saying.

But sales aren't factored in and both Gaga & Beyonce are bigger names than Alicia, so bringing them up isn't very practical.

Yeah, I know that. I was just saying she hasn't had anything out in two years, and I don't know that the general public really knows anything about her besides the couple big hits she had. Yes she's been big in R&B but that doesn't really (usually) compare to an artist who has been huge in pop and such. Not to diminish her, but pop is just much more prominent in society than R&B, so pop stars are generally more well-known than R&B stars.

I wasn't really talking about sales, just prominence in society. I honestly haven't heard anything about Alicia lately besides the Grammy performance. Versus Gaga being in the news for anything and everything she does, Beyonce being huge and having her baby, etc. I wasn't talking about sales at all.

Well so far that is one rock band, two r&b artists (one traditional, one a bit more alterna-b), one pure pop band, one pop-rock artists, one artist popular on both pop and urban, and one country act. That's pretty balanced IMO. And all of those acts are big enough or currently buzzworthy enough in their respective genres to warrant their presence IMO. If they had a list of performers that was all or almost all pop then people would complain that they're snubbing other genres.

Whoever is biggest on CHR is usually whoever has the highest public profile and 'feels' like a big act. When other genres were crossing over at least semi-frequently then you got other artists outside of pop who felt monumental. With less people crossing over, naturally the appeal of non-pop also feels limited (even if that's not actually true).

They did a good job at collecting the current big names for this year. I guess this year is lacking a huge star that promises a buzzy performance. Pink, Frank Ocean, Taylor, etc may deliver great performances but it's certainly different than Lady GaGa/Beyonce/Britney Spears.

You brought up a comparison. I didn't. I just stated Alicia is a big name. There's no need to mention that she isn't a bigger name than Shay Shay, Rachel or whoever. The point is that I find it strange she is being unnoticed as a big name.

Alicia has performed on the VMA numerous times so that comment of yours is laughable. MTV must disagree if they have her debuting her "lead" single off her new album just like "No One" was debuted back in 2007 (I don't know, you may not know that song from this unknown). So please, she isn't a newbie and just recognizable as those so called other levels of artists that you trying to push into a debate. Ok.

I think you're making this into a bigger issue than it needs to be. Those people have a point when mentioning Beyonce and GaGa as being bigger names than Alicia. They aren't saying Alicia isn't recognizable but she hasn't been as big in the last few years so if she were announced as one of the performers, frankly, people would be a bit confused as to why because she hasn't really been in the public at all this year to warrant a performance spot and while a new album/single would be anticipated, I haven't seen much in the way of buildup for that yet.
