MARIAH CAREY - Triumphant (Get 'Em) f/R. Ross: 1.873 (+ 0.771) I know the song is terrible, but I was expecting more play. For what it is, I think it's doing well.

CMM is quickly falling in airplay......
So Whistle has a chance this week, if the sales gap is big enough.

Have they sent out those two remixes? They should. The original is too bland for pop, too slow for rhythmic, and too grown-up for urban. Sure, it's probably getting airplay in those three formats, but its only going to get so much with just the original. Urban AC will eat it up, though. It could even chart on AC decently. Now with the remixes, the vintage would do well on urban and maybe rhythmic with the pulse remix helping it on pop and rhythmic. Hot AC could play either remix as well.

I don't think the original Mimi track will chart on AC, unless they edit out the rappers. :) I don't think the Vintage mix would get much urban play, as it's dance-oriented.

This past week I have downloaded Spotify. I love to listen to music through my iPod and iTunes as it connects to Last.fm for my personal chart and it syncs to my smart playlist that doubles as my personal radio station. So, why did I download Spotify? So that way I can make playlists that lists every song I played the day before. I turn Spotify's volume all the way down and let the playlist play from start to finish while I'm away doing other things. Why? So that way my plays will count towards the Hot 100. Also, now my plays will bring in revenue for labels who own the artists I love.
My friends also think I'm crazy for legally downloading from iTunes when I can just rip audio from YouTube or other sources. Again... I like my purchases to count on the Hot 100 and again, it gives revenue to the labels/artists I love. (Plus, I'm also abiding by the law. That's always a plus.)
I'm such a chart nerd.

I know, but then the plays wouldn't sync up with my iTunes playlists, plus there are many songs on my iTunes not available on Spotify. (Some very surprising ones too, like "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "The Way You Make Me Feel.")

Pop/R&B collabos with rap acts can reach substantial airplay levels- it's just a lot easier when the track is stronger (general perception, anyhow) and it's by a younger act.
Demi Lovato's track indeed has grown into an airplay hit- Billboard.com even had an article on it recently.

So Katy Perry should have the #1 airplay song next week and the lights song can takeover afterwards. Works for me.

Personally, i don't think she'll hold on, but i am very happy with her getting a 160.863M peak. Ballad in the summer. :'(

"Home," the coronation song by 2012 American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, is getting a second life -- thanks to the Olympics. The song, chosen for Phillips by Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine and first released in May, has been used repeatedly as a theme during NBC's broadcast of its women's gymnastics coverage. Industry sources are forecasting that the song could sell around 200,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Aug. 5. To put that in perspective, in the most recent week (ending July 29), only one song sold more than 200,000: Flo Rida's "Whistle," with 237,000. "Home" first started getting play on NBC last weekend, so we've already seen it post some major sales gains. In the week ending July 29, it earned a 69% increase in downloads, selling 40,000 for the week (up from 24,000 a week earlier). In turn, it reentered the Digital Songs chart at No. 47 and the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 84. Now, following the U.S. team's win during the team competition on July 31, the song is selling at an even faster pace. Projecting "Home's" sales this week is difficult, considering a lot of the song's traction depends on how much TV exposure it receives in the coming days. NBC is due to broadcast more women's gymnastics during primetime on Aug. 2 and 5. If "Home" sells around 200,000 downloads, it could move straight into the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 next week. The new Hot 100 chart's top 10 will be revealed on Aug. 8. "Home" originally debuted and peaked at No. 10 on the Hot 100 shortly after Phillips won American Idol in May. It bowed with 278,000 downloads in its debut week and has sold 617,000 to date in the U.S. Last month, Phillips received his first gold record marking the achievement and certifiying sales of over 500,000. I just can't believe Ellie Goulding has an excellent shot at reaching the top of the airplay chart in the USA. Never in a million years did I ever believe that would ever happen.
How good is her shot of doing so on the Billboard radio chart would anyone say?
