How high does this need to chart on iTunes to debut on hot 100 next week! For this week:At least top 150 for a possible change and top 100 hit for a safe place, but it now isn't even charting on iTunes. To get at top 10 debut, she at least has to be #1 digital and/or iTunes, but she isn't, so it wouldn't be a top 10 debut for sure. I don't even think it will debut in the top 50, but in the bottom 50. Maybe she will gain a lot next week.

^I still think it's a) Horrible that "Spectrum" is being pushed when "Shake It Off" wasn't and b) weird that we have two songs named "Spectrum" being released two weeks within each other...
Hopefully Zedd's becomes a huge hit. That song is amazing.

Something needs to come and shake up the charts big time... Gaga? Ke$ha? Taylor. She'll have a good first week due to sales, but then will probably fall off and not do much shaking up afterwards. Streaming doesn't seem to favor country. It will be interesting to see how she does with the new rules, though, and especially if she gets a pop crossover.

I think as long as the song crosses over, it will do well in streaming. Taylor has a huge fanbase, so I can see her having pretty big streaming numbers. Sort of like how Bieber pulls in good streaming numbers.
Now other country superstars will have a harder time with streaming, though. (Maybe excluding Luke Bryan, though, who seems to appeal to the streaming demo very well. Certain Jason Aldean songs as well.)

Hopefully Zedd's becomes a huge hit. That song is amazing. I think most will refer to Florence's song as "Say My Name" though. Reminds me of earlier this year when Tulisa released her song in the UK but changed the title from "We Are Young" to "Young" because the song was released around the time Fun's song was racing up the charts. Funny that Tulisa ended up hitting #1 before Fun.

That's another thing, both songs have the same title, yet neither song actually says the word "spectrum" in the chorus. (Florence says it once in the song. It's not said at all in Zedd's.)

Billboard.com:
Over on the Digital Songs chart, "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips zooms from No. 47 to No. 1 with "Home," selling 228,000 (up 472%) -- all thanks to the Olympics. The song was repeatedly used during NBC's broadcast of the women's gymnastics competitions throughout the week. This is "Home's" second-best sales week -- only its debut frame of 278,000 was larger.
Further, it's the first time "Home" has been the top selling song of the week, as it debuted at No. 2 the week after he won "Idol" in May. He was blocked that week from the top -- on the chart dated June 9 -- by Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." It was in its second week at No. 1, with 301,000.
Flo Rida's "Whistle" is thus pushed out of the No. 1 slot by Phillips, down to No. 2, with 222,000 (down 6%). Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" slips 2-3 with 166,000 (down 8%) and fun.'s "Some Nights" holds at No. 4 with 139,000 (up 7%).
Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" falls 3-5 (130,000; down 13%), Cher Lloyd's "Want U Back" moves 5-6 (122,000; down 5%) and Justin Bieber's "As Long As You Love Me" (featuring Big Sean) jumps 14-7 (just over 122,000; up 56%).
Ellie Goulding's "Lights" descends 7-8 (120,000; down 2%), Owl City & Jepsen's "Good Time" drops 8-9 (118,000; down 3%) and Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" retreats 6-10 (just under 118,000; down 4%).\\
Digital track sales this past week totaled 24.09 million downloads, up 1% compared with last week (23.82 million) and up 4% stacked next to the comparable week of 2011 (23.18 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 821.40 million, up 6% compared with the same total at this point last year (777.53 million).

Carly Rae Jepsen Claims Longest Hot 100 No. 1 Run of 2012 August 08, 2012 | By Silvio Pietroluongo, New York Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" maintains its perch atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a ninth week, passing the chart's prior champ, Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (eight) for most frames atop the chart in 2012. With a combined 17 weeks at No. 1, the two most recent No. 1 songs hold the longest stint among back-to-back chart-toppers since The Black Eyed Peas spent a cumulative 26 weeks at No. 1 with "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" in 2009. Chart Moves: Carly Rae Jepsen Makes Canada Proud on Hot 100 Chart As announced yesterday, Jepsen will release her debut album, Kiss, on September 18. Besides housing the omnipotent "Maybe," the set also contains her Owl City collaboration "Good Time," which continues to gain points, but is pushed down 13-14 on the Hot 100. Gotye's former No. 1 holds at No. 6 on the Hot 100 and becomes the first track to surpass 6 million download sales (6.046 million) in the 2012 calendar year. Jepsen's "Maybe," meanwhile, surpasses 5 million downloads (5.019 million) and stands at No. 3 among sellers for the year. Sandwiched in between is "We Are Young" by fun. featuring Janelle Monae (5.381 million). The blindingly successful "Lights" by Ellie Goulding continues to barrel up the chart track, motoring 5-2. The track, which returns to No. 1 on On-Demand Songs, jumps 5-4 on Hot 100 Airplay (up 5% in audience impressions) and slips 7-8 on Hot Digital Songs (120,000, down 2%), could very well illuminate the top of the Hot 100 next week. Lady Gaga To Carly Rae Jepsen: 'I'm Coming for You' on Hot 100 In contention for Hot 100 chart supremacy with "Lights" is the equally sensory-inducing "Whistle" by Flo Rida which moves 4-3 while abdicating the No. 1 slot on Hot Digital Songs (1-2) with 222,000 (down 6%). The song remains just outside the top 10 of Hot 100 Airplay (13-12, up 13%) Phillip Phillips becomes the first "American Idol" winner since David Cook in 2008 to post the week's top selling song in his or her coronation year as the rejuvenated "Home" -- featured as NBC's theme to women's gymnastics coverage during the Summer Olympics -- hightails it 47-1 on Hot Digital Songs with 228,000 downloads (up 472%). "Home" also races to a new Billboard Hot 100 peak 84-9 with Digital Gainer accolades. It's the largest jump into the top 10 since "Make Me Proud" by Drake featuring Nicki Minaj soared 97-9 on the chart dated Nov. 5, 2011. "Home" debuted with a higher sales figure (278,000) on the June 9 charts (No. 2 on Hot Digital Songs and No. 10 on the Hot 100) following Phillips' performance of the song on the May 23 Idol finale, but was held out of the top sales slot by Jepsen's "Maybe" (301,000). Elsewhere in the Hot 100 top 10, Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" stumbles 2-4, though the track reaches a new peak on Hot 100 Airplay (3-2 with 116.6 million audience impressions). Maroon 5 slips out of the top three for the first time in its chart run with "Payphone" (3-5). The song debuted at No. 3 on the May 5 chart and spent the subsequent 15 weeks among the top three, peaking at No. 2. The band's follow-up "One More Night" surges 54-30 with Airplay Gainer honors (up 50% in audience impressions). Rihanna's "Where Have You Been" and "Titanium" by David Guetta featuring Sia remain stationary at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. P!nk places at No. 10 for a third straight week with "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)." The title lifts 11-10 on Hot 100 Airplay for her 13th top 10 on that tally. Wow- did not expect to see "Lights" get a new peak of #2 on the Hot 100. I'm skeptical if it has a shot at #1 though because it's down to #12 and #125 on iTunes. Still, I never imagined it would climb this high.
"Wide Awake" looks like it could climb to #1 next week but I wouldn't be surprised if Carly holds it down for a 10th week.
