Blah. Multiply sales by 6. Multiply Airplay by 9. Divide streaming by 2.Whistle : 217k, 66 AI, 749 ODS; 1302 + 594 + 374.5 = 2270.5 Lights : 111k, 121 AI, 829 ODS; 666 + 1089 + 414.5 = 2169.5 Carly : 156k, 87 AI, 783 ODS; 936 + 783 + 391.5 = 2110.5 Katy: 136k, 117 AI, 529 ODS; 816 + 1053 + 264.5 = 2133.5 Carly probably made up the points due to being #1 on Youtube. Taylor Swift, meanwhile, enters the Hot 100 at No. 72 with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," the first single from her fourth studio album, "Red," due Oct. 22. I wouldn't be surprised if she debuted in the high 70's, with how much airplay counts for now.

F'n hell... And of course it had to be Flo that gets the #1. Jesus I'd have rather Katy have gotten it if Ellie had to get leapfrogged.

In between "Whistle" and "Maybe," Goulding's "Lights" holds at No. 2. The cut ascends 4-1 on Radio Songs (121 million, up 6%), making the British electro-pop singer/songwriter the first solo female to send a debut Radio Songs entry to No. 1 since Adele led the list on her first three tries beginning last year with "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain." "Lights" spends a third week at No. 1 on On-Demand Songs (829,000, down 6%) and slips 8-11 on Digital Songs (111,000, down 8%). As previously reported, the song also rises to No. 1 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart. Didn't expect that! Oh well, #2 isn't bad at all for a song that was released 2 and a half years ago as an iTunes bonus track. :)

With Taylor Swift debuting today and maybe Mariah, can someone help me update Taylor's Hot 100 appearances? Is she at 44 or 45? Thanks. Most Hits by Female Artists on the Hot 100: 73, Aretha Franklin 56, Dionne Warwick 56, Madonna 53, Connie Francis 48, Brenda Lee 44, Mariah Carey 43, Taylor Swift 41, Barbra Streisand 40, Diana Ross6 39, Mary J. Blige 39, Whitney Houston 39, Janet Jackson If you count the featured entries, she already has 46. Never Ever will be the 47th. If you include all entries, Nicki Minaj already has 40 and Rihanna 38, so they could appear there too. Thanks! I hope Billboard updates this list this week. Most Hits by Female Artists on the Hot 100: 73, Aretha Franklin 56, Dionne Warwick 56, Madonna 53, Connie Francis 48, Brenda Lee 47, Taylor Swift 44, Mariah Carey 41, Barbra Streisand 40, Diana Ross 40, Nicki Minaj 39, Mary J. Blige 39, Whitney Houston 39, Janet Jackson 38, Rihanna

If Taylor can get a bunch of non-singles to debut when the album is released(SN had every song chart)she could potentially move into #2 :)

A billboard article that has since changed from "Taylor Swift will not factor into this week's Hot 100" to "Taylor Swifts Sales will not factor into this weeks Hot 100"
I was reading that when I posted it.
But Yes, I was wrong

Yea I agree with Adonis. I think the entire week (airplay, sales, and streaming) should run from Monday-Sunday with a new Hot 100 every Monday morning. You expect them to be able to get all the radio, sales, and streaming info, put it all together, total the points, and make the Hot 100 in less than 12 hours? That doesn't seem feasible to me. If they need some extra help, I would KILL for that job.

I feel Taylor will debut very easily above the #97-100 range. Very easily indeed. FLO #1 YES

How's this for irony? This week "Some Nights" jumps 11-8 right over the song that kept it out of the top 10 last week, "Home." :)

If Big Machine had waited one day to send WANE to radio Taylor could have easily debuted at #1 next week. But I am guessing they were concentrating so much just on making sure Taylor got to #1 they didn't really consider the potential of her debuting at the top, or just didn't want to risk the chance of her missing the #1 debut and then getting stuck with a non-#1 peak (like Bieber did for example).
Was rooting for Ellie but I knew it was a longshot. Her sales have been slipping for the past couple weeks now. #2 is still an amazing showing for her however! I'm not bummed at all.

^Yeah, if any song should have been discounted last week, it should have been "Lights" not "Wide Awake". She still had an excellent run and a #2 peak is still great for her. :)

:o Is that right? Edit: Wikipedia has 40, but Wikipedia... I think so: acharts.us/performer/nicki_minajThe only two I saw on that list that weren't on the Hot 100 are "Girls Fall Like Dominoes" and "Whip It," making 40. 1- Knockout 2- Up Out My Face 3- My Chick Bad 4- Lil Freak 5- WooHoo 6- Your Love 7- Up All Night 8- Letting Go(Dutty Love) 9- 2012(It Ain't The End) 10- Bottoms Up 11- Check It Out 12- What's Wrong With Them? 13- Right Thru Me 14- Monster 15- Roman's Revenge 16- Dark Fantasy 17- Fly 18- Moment 4 Life 19- Creep 20- Did It On'em 21- Till The World Ends (she was credited for 1 week) 22- Super Bass 23- Where Them Girls At 24- Turn Me On 25- Make Me Proud 26- You The Boss 27- Dance (A$$) 28- Roman In Moscow 29- Stupid Hoe 30- Give Me All Your Luvin' 31- Starships 32- Muthafucka Up 33- Roman Reloaded 34- Right By My Side 35- Take It To The Head 36- Beez In The Trap 37- Va Va Voom 38- Get Low 39- Beauty And A Beat 40- Pound The Alarm

It's razor thin (but accurate!) for #3 but here's how my formula worked out:
Flo Rida 390.9 Ellie 375.4 Carly 364.8 Katy 364.4
So... I'm still betting I've got it right. (Sales : Airplay : Streaming = 1 : 1.5 : 0.1)

In your 'format' it looks like that: Points = Sales x 1 + Airplay x 1.506 + Streaming x 0.0909

Billboard: Also commercially released to iTunes and Google Play late yesterday, and to other digital retailers today (14), "Never" has the retail record books in its sights. Industry sources suggest that the song may sell between 450,000 to 500,000 downloads by the end of the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week on Sunday (19). That large a sum could earn "Never" the biggest sales debut for a digital song by a woman, as well as a career-high sales week for the country/pop superstar. Are you ready for Swizzle to break the record for longest title of a number one song released in August that has been aided by country radio??

Just so you all know, in my hypothetical formula, it would have been:
1. Lights 2. Whistle 3. Call Me Maybe 4. Wide Awake

The bad: - Lights will not hit #1. - Lights will not hit #1 because of a song about blow jobs.
The good: -Next week Taylor can kick Rihanna out of the top 10 (as long as Phillip Phillips can stay strong!).
In all seriousness, its not like Lights has poor sales, it hit 2 million downloads before even entering the top 10 of the hot 100. It's just that its sales are so spread out.
