The stats for "Born This Way" were before Mediabase updated its numbers, keep in mind. So, we can't say with certainty if it's larger than the stats for Stefani Gaga.
Swfit's track appears in the top 50 at four formats:
Top 40 29. TAYLOR SWIFT We Are Never Ever Ge... 1688 0 1688 15.76
Country 26. TAYLOR SWIFT We Are Never Ever Ge... 1559 0 1559 12.526
AC 16. TAYLOR SWIFT We Are Never Ever Ge... 408 0 408 6.346
Hot AC 30. TAYLOR SWIFT We Are Never Ever Ge... 588 0 588 5.315

Getting antsy waiting for Billboard's revelation of the #1 this week.
I hope Ellie has enough to top the chart.

I'm hoping for Wide Awake, but expecting Call Me Maybe. This really is the most exciting week since Last Friday Night. We've had weeks where 2 songs were incredibly close, but now we have 4. Shaking.

Billboard said that Taylor's song broke the record for 24 hours airplay, so that means that WANEGBT was better than BTW.

I don't think Taylor will be #1 for long. Her airplay will suffer the 8th day effect, and then her sales will drop off after this week I predict.
One, possibly two weeks at the most.

It'd be pretty hilarious if a song called "We are never getting back together" ended up challenging "We belong together" for biggest one-week airplay total. :)
Meanwhile I think those of you hoping for Ellie at #1 will be disappointed. I think she "lucked out" so to speak for an extremely close race for #2 last week, and Flo Rida has much more momentum and strikes me as far more likely to dethrone Carly than Ellie is.

I'm not surprised by Swifty's number at all. I think people forget that, while she was getting the big Clear Channel debut, the CC country stations have also been doing that so that can be 10-15 million right there, plus all the airplay that most of you here only think about (Top 40, AC, HAC), lol ;) Several country acts including Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, the Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, and Big & Rich have all gotten the "Clear Channel special" with their latest singles (all the 1st singles from new albums). CC didn't start doing this with their country stations until April 1st, when they launched the Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw duet "Feel Like A Rock Star" and they call this special promotion their 'artist integration program' I think it's bogus artificial manufactured airplay, but w/e. I like Taylor's song a lot but I don't like how corporate radio just decides it's cool to coordinate airplay by the hour.. So yeah, Madonna and some other pop stars had all the Clear Channel support as well but they certainly didn't have 12.5 million on the Country Mediabase chart.. ;)

^ She's also getting Rhythmic airplay (#37 on the Building Chart, per Billboard).

Lol this does not seem Rhythmic at all... But yeah, Taylor has 2 things going over BTW; Country and the bigger numbers. So a little hard to compare, but oh well haha. We can try comparing the BDS numbers to see how those go.
I'm more curious about the rest of the week how she will do. Will she get 5 mil updates, 10, 15? Or less than 5? I think that's going to be more interesting/telling of the song.

Looks like Katy will nudge out Ellie for #1 on overall airplay!

Looks like Katy will nudge out Ellie for #1 on overall airplay! Definitely looks that way but BDS numbers can be different. I remember one time a pretty big difference here had the #5 song at #7 or something, so I was surprised at how different it could be at some points. Katy will most likely still be #1 (radio) but nothing is a lock yet.

Billboard.com:
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Flo Rida's "Whistle" retakes the No. 1 position (217,000; down 2%), pushing Phillip Phillips' "Home" down a spot to No. 2 (212,000; down 7%). Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is a non-mover at No. 3 (156,000; down 6%).
Mumford & Sons earn its best sales week ever for a digital song as its new single "I Will Wait" barges in at No. 4 with 153,000. The cut, which is off to a great start on our airplay charts, gives the rock act its first top 10 on Digital Songs. Mumford & Sons has only reached the chart twice before, with "Little Lion Man" (No. 36) and "The Cave" (No. 11). "I Will Wait" is the lead single from the band's upcoming album "Babel," which is due out on Sept. 25.
fun.'s "Some Nights" slips a rung to No. 5 -- despite a gain -- with 149,000 (up 7%). Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" has its first weekly sales gain in five weeks -- though it's pushed back 5-6 -- with 136,000 (up 5%). The song was temporarily discounted to 69 cents in the iTunes Store last week -- where the vast majority of contemporary hits are sold for $1.29.
Maroon 5's "One More Night" charges 16-7 on Digital Songs with 134,000 (up 71%) while Justin Bieber's "As Long As You Love Me" slips 7-8 (130,000; up 6%). Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen's "Good Time" holds at No. 9 (122,000; up 3%) and Cher Lloyd's "Want U Back" tumbles 6-10 (117,000; down 5%). Digital track sales this past week totaled 24.03 million downloads, down less than 1% compared with last week (24.09 million) and up 5% stacked next to the comparable week of 2011 (22.82 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 845.43 million, up 6% compared with the same total at this point last year (800.35 million).

Sales+Airplay points.
Wide Awake: 211 Whistle: 205 Lights: 191 CMM: 190
Difference of 1 points can be countered by 18k difference in streaming.
So if Whistle has 110k more streaming than WA, it wins....
I think every song has a chance depending on streaming.

The anticipation is killing me! (figuratively of course).
Go Lights! (though Wide Awake would be okay too).
