i still can't believe that STIUTK is having this longevity. I feel like I never hear it anymore but it must be getting airplay and downloaded still.

www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat#/column/chartbeat/elvis-presley-madonna-the-day-the-music-1005317502.storyHere's an updated look at the solo women to make the most appearances in the Hot 100's 54-year history: 73, Aretha Franklin 56, Madonna 56, Dionne Warwick 53, Connie Francis 48, Brenda Lee 46, Taylor Swift 44, Mariah Carey 41, Nicki Minaj 41, Barbra Streisand 40, Mary J. Blige 40, Diana Ross :o :o Nicki Minaj has 41 songs on the list? :o That's shocking (in a positive way) !! The only songs i know from here are Superbass, Starship, and Pound The Alarm.

Yeah, there are always issues. Like when AirPlay hits wouldn't chart despite being popular or would have lower peak due to limited sales. Don't Speak and My Heart Will Go On should've been in the top 10 of the 90s. The list with Glee, Taylor and Nicki is ridiculous but those are the stats. Qualifying adjectives can help to have more accurate descriptions, but then we also have those ridiculous statements of 'the record of slowest climbing one-word song by a non-US female artist who flopped in her country, but was helped by a crappy dance remix to make it in the US'

Nicki does only have I think 9 solo charters, vs. Taylor's 40something.

Was rooting for Lights because I wanted to have 4 consecutive artists who hit #1 on their first Hot 100 appearance

Those will get accounted for Taylor's points for the Year End Charts & Decade End Lists. Can't say the same for Nicki.

I doubt a couple 1-2 week entries are going to impact her "Hot 100 Artist" position more than multiple 15 week features.

Yeah, features do get a portion of the chart points (30% of the chart points for the song are divided equally amongst all features).

Based on mariah-charts.com, songs that gave them the equivalent of about 1 week of charting (or less):
Nicki Minaj 7.5% * 18 weeks, 10 weeks 15% * 6 weeks, 1 week 30% * 1 week, 1 week, 1 week, 1 week, 1 week, 2 weeks, 2 weeks, 1 week 100% * 1 week, 1 week 14 songs are in this group.
Taylor's had 14 1-week songs. Hmm.
