Week of 04-14-2013Selena Gomez (no longer with The Scene) scores her first #1 song with "Come & Get It", her first top 10, her first top 20, and her 4th song to chart, her 1st solo. She also scores the 5th #1 debut! :O Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar moves up 1 to #2, and "I Could Be the One" falls 2 to #3, just because it's such a strong chart. :'( "Figure 8" falls 2 to #4, again because the chart is so strong. "Mountain Sound" moves up 1 to #5, becoming Of Monsters and Men's 2nd top 5.
"Mirrors" moves up 1 to #7 as "Suit & Tie" falls 5 to #12. Still love that song, but making room for other songs. :'( "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" moves up 3 to #9, entering the top 10 yet again. Next week might see the Showtek remix as the entry on the chart. It's great. "Just Give Me a Reason" holds at #10 for a 2nd week.
"Freaks" moves up 2 to #11, nearing the top 10. "Sweet Spot" also moves up 2 to #13. "King and Lionheart" moves up 2 as well, to #15. So do "I Need Your Love" and "Can't Hold Us" lmao, to #17 and 18, respectively.
The biggest gainer is "#thatPOWER" gaining 13 spots to #27. Other big gainers include "Kisses Down Low" up 6 to #22 and "High School" up 11 spots to #28. The biggest faller is a 3-way tie between "Crying Out Your Name," "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)," and "Stay," falling 9 each to #20, #32, and #38, respectively. Other big falls include "Kiss You" and "22," down 7 each to #31 and #40, respectively; "Little Talks" down 6 to 24; and the aforementioned "Suit & Tie," "The City," "Thrift Shop," and "When I Was Your Man," down 5 each to #12, #14, #19, and #26, respectively. Idk, I'm just over Rihanna and Bruno's ballads suddenly.
Only one debut, "Come & Get It," which knocks out "Poetic Justice."
Several new certifications this week. "Freaks" becomes the 112nd song to reach Gold status; "I Could Be the One" and "King and Lionheart" become the 83rd and 84th songs to reach Platinum status, "Same Love" becomes the 42nd song to reach 2x Platinum status, "Figure 8" becomes the 20th song to reach 3x Platinum status, "Clarity" becomes the 7th song to reach 4x Platinum status, and "Call Me Maybe" becomes the 2nd song to reach 5x Platinum status. Only "Little Talks" is higher, at 6x Platinum.
Random, but I believe these are my most certified artists, using only actual certifications, not total points, so a song at 1.9x platinum only gets 1 point.
