It's weird. I love several of the TEOM singles, but when Amazon has had her #1 album or whatever on sale I listen to previews and just am not here for it. I think what I need to do is just work my way backwards through her music. Hopefully I will enjoy it more that way haha

You need to work your way through it and stop listening to previews on Amazon you fail. I am here for all her music, but I will admit I listen to everything from Butterfly to now more often, and the older material of her's that I absolutely adore with the exception of certain tracks isn't on #1's. Someday when you're older you will grow to appreciate it. :)

I like Miguel pretty well on this, but Mariah more. She sounds great, and it’s such a catchy song. Love it.

[Note: I did comments starting with #26 so might make sense to read them in that order idk lol] It’s a completely different song from the original. Kind of a basic song but still nice.

It’s just so catchy and fun. Kendrick killed his verse, as usual. Dr. Luke did a nice job on this one.

I wish “Euphoria” had crossed over to the US and she had success here. Oh well. At least I got to enjoy this great song.

Still am. It sounds straight out of his previous albums. I much prefer the full song to the radio edit, though. The radio edit cuts out some good parts.

Love it.
	43	Empire of the Sun "Alive (Zedd Remix)" (from Ice On the Dune, Clarity ) 2013 Peak: 6 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 14 | 2013 Points: 10778 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 2x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 49-41-33-25-22-15-11-8-7-7-6-7-11-23 This really grew on me. I still am not a big fan of the vocals, but went from hating them to finding them decent. Zedd’s remix is also miles better than the original. I love the production at ~1:05. It’s so good.
	42	Ke$ha "C'Mon" (from Warrior ) 2013 Peak: 3 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 12 | 2013 Points: 11704.05 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 2x Platinum (4x Platinum) 2013 Chart run: 9-4-4-5-3-3-4-7-10-18-23-34 Pulse, and the public, didn’t really like this song. I love it, though. I think it’s quite catchy, and the chorus is great. Also gave a pretty fun video. It’s nothing special for Ke$ha, but that’s not a bad thing.
	41	Cazzette "Beam Me Up" 2013 Peak: 4 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 14 | 2013 Points: 11739.5 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 2x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 37-20-11-9-6-5-4-5-5-11-15-27-34-41 I love this. It was a flop, though. It deserved much better. I love the chorus - the production is great there. It’s great everywhere but especially there. Love the vocals, too.
	40	One Direction "Kiss You" (from Take Me Home ) 2013 Peak: 4 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 16 | 2013 Points: 12195.4 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 2x Platinum (3x Platinum) 2013 Chart run: 6-5-4-4-6-8-16-14-13-13-14-20-24-31-34-36 Love this. Unfortunately it underperformed, but that was to be expected given that it’s so similar to their other singles (pre-“Story of My Life”). Doesn’t make it bad, though. The video is great, too.
	39	Lorde "Royals" (from Pure Heroine, The Love Club ) 2013 Peak: 2 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 15 | 2013 Points: 12374 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 2x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 42-21-7-6-3-3-2-2-5-11-19-30-38-45-46 One of the biggest hits of the year, and very deserving. Not my favorite song of hers, but one of her best, for sure. Love the minimal production, her voice, etc. Great song.

Such a jam. Not really a fan of French Montana, but he’s pretty good in this song. As usual, Nicki’s verse slays. The production is great, and it’s overall just an amazing song.

I was shocked to see it so high in my Q2 or Q3 countdown so expected it to be high year-end, but still. I mean, it’s a nice song and all but not that good or exciting lol.

Cindy Alma "Beautiful Life" (from Intense ) 2013 Peak: 1 [2 weeks] | 2013 Weeks on chart: 16 | 2013 Points: 13185 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 3x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 20-9-5-2-2-1-1-4-9-16-25-35-39-40-47-49 This is the first song of Armin’s I heard. Well I probably heard a song or two before just didn’t know it was him and whatnot. But the first one I really heard and my favorite of his. Definitely need to check out more of his work. It’s amazing. Love Cindy’s voice, and the production is great. I love the low synth noise, sounds semi-like a foghorn or something. It’s great.
	35	Fantasia feat. Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott "Without Me" (from Side Effects of You ) 2013 Peak: 2 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 14 | 2013 Points: 13417.75 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 3x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 3-2-2-2-2-3-4-6-11-16-22-29-36-43 I never thought Fantasia would give me a song like this. I remember reading about this song before it was released and being intrigued, and I was not let down at all! Fantasia and Kelly absolutely KILLED it. Missy didn’t exactly bring her A game. This had a high burn rate on me, but I absolutely loved it there for a while.
	34	Martin Garrix "Animals" 2013 Peak: 3 | 2013 Weeks on chart: 14 | 2013 Points: 13613 | 2013 Certification (Overall Certification): 3x Platinum 2013 Chart run: 37-8-4-3-4-5-6-7-12-14-11-17-18-21 Great dance song by the unknown Martin Garrix. Great way for him to break out. There are almost no vocals at all, but that’s ok. Would be a little more interesting with them, but the top-notch production makes them unnecessary.

It’s just so good. Better than “Clarity,” but that performed quite a bit better. Oh well. Matthew is great, even if some people think he sounds like a girl.

Unlike most rappers, I actually like Kendrick’s voice. It’s so nice, and his flow is so smooth and great. Add in crazy fun production and you get a great song. Glad it managed to sneak in a week at #1 on the chart.

	15	Janelle Monáe The Electric Lady Total 2013 Points: 31616.4 2013 Songs Charted: “Dance Apocalyptic” “PrimeTime” “Q.U.E.E.N.” To be honest I don’t use this album very much. The few times I listened I haven’t cared for it too much. “Q.U.E.E.N.” is a jam, “PrimeTime” is good, and “Dance Apocalyptic” is decent. There are some good album tracks, but overall just not a huge fan of it. Only reason it’s so high is because of “Q.U.E.E.N.”
	14	Calvin Harris 18 Months Total 2013 Points: 31987.85 2013 Songs Charted: “Bounce” “I Need Your Love” “Sweet Nothing” “Thinking About You” He had several songs chart this year, including “Bounce” because I randomly started liking it and decided to chart it very late lol. I don’t listen to anything besides the singles, really, but I should change that. If I remember. "Sweet Nothing" and "Let's Go" are my favorites, at least of the singles.
	13	Ke$ha Warrior Total 2013 Points: 32936.95 2013 Songs Charted: “C’Mon” “Crazy Kids” “Die Young” “Wonderland” I was initially disappointed by this album, but I listened to it the other day and liked it more now than I did a year ago. Still love “Crazy Kids,” “Wonderland,” and “C’Mon,” but I enjoyed the rest of the album more than I had in the past.
	12	Olly Murs Right Place Right Time Total 2013 Points: 34343.85 2013 Songs Charted: “Army of Two” “Dance With Me Tonight” “Dear Darlin’” “Right Place Right Time” “Troublemaker” Like 18 Months, I don’t really listen to this besides the singles. However, like Warrior, I listened to the full album the other day and it’s nice. I really should listen to it more often, and download his previous album. The US vs. UK differences will probably confuse me more than necessary, though, since the US version of this includes stuff from his debut, not released in the US. At least I don’t think.
	11	Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city Total 2013 Points: 35049 2013 Songs Charted: “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” “Poetic Justice” “Swimming Pools (Drank)” LOVE IT. 	24	Lily Allen Total 2013 Points: 22255.85 2013 Songs Charted: Hard Out Here Somewhere Only We Know True Love (100%) I was introduced to her by P!nk and her flawless feature in “True Love.” Then she came out with “Hard Out Here” which I thought was stupid but think is decent not, and the amazing “Somewhere Only We Know” cover. Will have to check out more of her music.
	23	Kelly Rowland Total 2013 Points: 26078.5 2013 Songs Charted: Dirty Laundry Kisses Down Low Representin (100%) Without Me (100%) She did great this year considering her terrible label and lack of singles. Her flawless feature on “Without Me” helped boost her up this high, though.
	22	Loreen Total 2013 Points: 26576.3 2013 Songs Charted: Crying Out Your Name Euphoria Heal In My Head My Heart Is Refusing Me Sidewalk I’m surprised how well she did. I love her album Heal in case you couldn’t tell lol. Her single from the re-release did not grab my attention, though. Anxious to hear some new material from her.
	21	Justin Timberlake Total 2013 Points: 30069.6 2013 Songs Charted: Mirrors Suit & Tie Take Back the Night TKO His comeback started out great but quickly went downhill. “Suit & Tie” has yet to appear, and I don’t have much to say besides read that later.
	20	Lorde Total 2013 Points: 30946 2013 Songs Charted: Royals Team Tennis Court She did great for only charting ~1/2 the year. She had some big hits, and “Tennis Court” is still hanging in there and “Team” is still growing. Curious to see what her next single will be.

Josh's Top Album Tracks (part 2)

Just a reminder that these are in a (mostly) random order. I think I'm adding an 8th song to the final day.

"Donatella" by Lady Gaga from ARTPOP
A lot of people hate this song but I love it. It’s so fun and just ridiculous. I’ve always wondered but never thought to check if Donatella actually pronounces her name like that or if it’s just Gaga being Gaga and pronouncing things funny. Anyways, this song is totally Zedd. Nothing too unusual for him, but that’s not a bad thing. And like all Gaga songs, the chorus and bridge are killer. And so is the breakdown, as basic as it is.

"Gypsy" by Lady Gaga from ARTPOP
The song from ARTPOP that most think has the best chance to be a hit. I definitely hear the comparison to “The Edge of Glory,” and find this to be inferior. However, it’s still pretty good. I like the other Madeon song on the album better. #spoiler Hopefully if this does become a single it will smash. Oh and I love the part at ~2:45. Dunno why but it’s probably my favorite part of the song.

"The Love Club" by Lorde from The Love Club
Another of Lorde’s songs from The Love Club. I love the “oh”s throughout the song. I love the line “there are fights for being my best friend.” Dunno why, but I really like it. I also love it at ~1:55, especially the background vocals. I think that’s what I like about a lot of her material, is that there’s not much to the production, but the (background) vocals and effects are fun to listen to.

"Lovin’ It" by Ariana Grande from Yours Truly
Another great song from Ariana. Not much to add after “Daydreamin’,” really. Most of the same applies. I don’t like it quite as much as “Daydreamin’,” though, but still an amazing song.

"Street Life" by Kelly Rowland feat. Pusha T from Talk a Good Game
This song is such a jam. The chorus is so catchy and Kelly’s harmonies slay. I also love how the production goes through lots of ups and downs to go along with the changes in Kelly’s voice. Would have been a great single. Not really a fan of the rap, but it’s not too bad.

"One On One Fun" by Tamar Braxton from Love and War
Kinda basic but still fun to listen to. While I think she does amazing on the “Love and War” type songs, I think she should explore more into these types of songs as well. It’s way too short, but almost 2 minutes so it could be worse.

"Stars Dance" by Selena Gomez from Stars Dance
One of my favorites from the album. This is the epitome of when she described the album as mini-dubstep or something. I love the violins/strings and the dubstep chorus. I didn’t like her vocals at first on this, but I don’t know why anymore. I think the autotune was too much but idk I guess it grew on me. Would be a great single, imo.

It’s definitely a bit too high for what I expected, but it was boosted 1 week by the Nicki remix, and a few weeks with the great Showtek remix.

Moreover, 18 Months at #14 and Calvin Harris at #17 Really good to see Warrior, Right Place Right Time and all of the artists besides him too.

Both of Lily's albums are amazing. I don't like Hard Out Here either though and don't understand why so many people do

18 Months is pretty much a greatest hits album bridged with a couple instrumentals. Here 2 China is the only track with vocals not released as a single though that song is annoying and I always skip it

EDIT: Calvin does sing on Iron, but I still consider that an instrumental for the most part

Well the singles are amazing, and I like the instrumentals for the most part. So a good thing? But it never feels like I'm listening to an album.
