Nick's Top 100 (October 26, 2014)

The new year has started, and so has the new format! I like doing 50 songs so much more! I actually completed this in just one day!

I didn't mention last week, but I'm also going to bring back the weekly write up instead of the bullet notes.

I'm starting an inverse point system where each position is given points opposite of their position (#50-1, #49-2...#1-50). When a song reaches 250 points, it will be elligible for recurrency. Otherwise, a dropout will be purged. These points will help calculate a true point-based year-end chart for 2013.

Anyway, I'm all caught up now, so hopefully everything will run smoothly again :)

The Cab's "Endlessly" returns to #1. It is only the fourth song to ever do that, after smash hits "What Makes You Beautiful", "Give Your Heart a Break" and "As Long As You Love Me". Last week's #1, "Battle Scars" by Lupe Fiasco & Guy Sebastian, falls to #4. Chris Brown and Ed Sheeran each score their second Top 10 this week. Chris rises 12-6 with "Don't Judge Me". He previously hit #1 with "Turn Up the Music". Ed shoots up 25-10 with "Lego House", matching the peak of "The A Team", which drops 14-22 this week. One Direction's "Little Things" re-enters the Top 10 rising 13-9 this week. It has so far peaked at #6.

Pitbull's "Feel This Moment" debuts at #30. Well technically, it rises 51-30 but the Bottom 50 doesn't exist anymore Although not officially a single yet, it has already reached the Top 50 on Pop, and is sure to be the next release. Situations such as these will allow non-singles to chart. Pitbull's current single, "Don't Stop the Party", rises 24-18 this week.

The biggest gains this week (5+) go to "Lego House", "Swimming Pools (Drank)" (26-17), "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" (21-13), "Sweet Nothing" (28-20), "Don't Judge Me" and "Don't Stop the Party".

Rihanna's "Diamonds" drops out from #34 this week, with a peak of #5.

I had an Imagine Dragons craving this week. "Radioactive" jumps 5-1 while "It's Time" rocket rebounds from #27 to a new peak of 3. Meanwhile in the Top 10, Chris Brown's "Don't Judge Me" reaches a new peak of #5, and Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" reaches a new peak of #7. David Guetta scores his third Top 10 with "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" rising 13-9, while Kendrick Lamar scores his first Top 10 with "Swimming Pools (Drank)" rising 17-10.

No debuts this week, but three songs re-enter :O Coincidentally, two of the three songs have so far peaked at #35, while the other has so far peaked at #34. The Secret State's "The Biggest Mistake" re-enters at #46 (the #34 peaker), Chris Richardson's "Joy & Pain" re-enters at #48 and Chris Wallace's "Remember When (Push Rewind)" re-enters at #50.

^Alt crossovers always seem to move slow for me I really like it though, so I can see it pulling an "It's Time", which actually debuted back in August :O Especially if it ends up being huge on Pop this year

Kendrick Lamar scores the third biggest jump to #1 ever with the 10-1 rise of "Swimming Pools (Drank)". It came short of Maroon 5's "One More Night" (16-1) and Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" (14-1), which rebounds 4-2 this week. Meanwhile in the Top 10, Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" reaches a new peak of #5 and David Guetta's "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" reaches a new peak of #7. Ke$ha's "C'mon" rises 14-8 into the Top 10. Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools (Drank)" is the first song to spend two consecutive weeks at #1 since Ke$ha's "Die Young" back in early December. It might not last a third week though, as Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" rises 5-2, David Guetta's "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" rises 7-3, and Ke$ha's "C'mon" rises 8-4. What will be #1 next week? We'll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, in this week's Top 10, P!nk scores her second Top 10 hit as "Try" rises 13-7. "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" peaked at #3. The Secret State score their first Top 10 with debut single "The Biggest Mistake" rising 32-9, making it The Biggest Gainer. They can't have made that big of a mistake, huh? ;) Pitbull scores his fifth Top 10 hit with "Don't Stop the Party" rising 16-10. He previously reached the top tier with "Rain Over Me" (#8), "International Love" (#6), "Back in Time" (#7), and "Get It Started" (#9), giving him one peak at every spot in the lower half of the Top 10 (#uselessbillboardishstats). Pit may be adding a sixth Top 10 next week with "Feel This Moment", which rises 19-13 this week.

Five songs debut this week, led by two electronic acts. Rising dance group Krewella debuts at #44 with their debut single "Alive", while hit reality star DJ Pauly D debuts at #45 with "Back to Love", which contains vocals by Jay Sean. Lil Wayne's newest single, "Love Me" with Drake and Future, debuts at #48, followed by another Drake-feauture on hot new rapper A$AP Rocky's smash "F**kin' Problems", which also features 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar, at #49. Despite initially being against it, I found it hard to escape this week, hence the #50 debut of Justin Timberlake's return single, "Suit & Tie", with guest rapping by Jay-Z. Will it remain on the chart next week? I think it might be a safe bet.

The biggest gains this week (5+) go to "The Biggest Mistake" (second week in a row as Greatest Gainer), Trey Songz's "Simply Amazing" (40-22), Austin Mahone's "Say You're Just a Friend" (42-27), Jonn Hart's "Who Booty" (27-16), Chris Wallace's "Remember When (Push Rewind)" (41-30), Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs", Chris Richardson's "Joy & Pain" (38-29), Tim McGraw's "One of Those Nights" (47-40), "Try", "Don't Stop the Party", "Feel This Moment", Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath" (20-14), Of Monsters and Men's "Little Talks" (21-15), Calvin Harris's "Sweet Nothing" (17-12), and Britt Nicole's "Gold" (46-41).
