Goes for adds on September 20. It's definitely the song with the most hit potential from the album.

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope it does very well and I expect it to. Anything less than top10 will be a disappointment.

I like this a lot... it should do really well at HAC but honestly I think that's asking for too much.

They needed "Better Now" to lay the groundwork and it did & that's a miracle so this is just a no brainer. I don't care who u are a program director can't pass on a song this good

I read the title to the thread and smiled! Yay, this song is going to be a hit, IMO. I remember an email I received from my DJ who said that they would definitely play HDYL if it is released. They just started playing Better Now the last few weeks, so they'll definitely jump on this one. Can't wait to hear it on the radio!

I was loving this song more than ever last night but this morning something hit me. This song sounds like Coldplay's "Yellow." The verses sound the same and even the "but you never knew" part is the equivalent of "it was all yellow." Unfortuantely, I like this song a lot less now but I still want it to do well.

Man, I really do NOT see the comparison to Yellow here. They really don't sound alike to me.

This song is a trillion times better than Yellow and even after reading this I can't even make myself hear a comparison, but I never got into Yellow much so I don't know it by heart.

I am REALLY surprised this didn't get any early adds. I guess this will have to earn its way onto the chart just like Better Now did. So much for Better Now paving the way. I still think this will be a hit, but I'm starting to wonder if will be as big as I originally thought.

Looks like this is starting to get some airplay at Hot AC. I'm a little surprised this isn't picking up a little quicker...

Where did you see this was getting airplay? I haven't seen it pop up on anything at all yet.

16 adds this week. Decent enough start. It'll be a slow-builder just like "Better Now", but it'll get up there! "Better Now" did very well at Hot AC, but Collective Soul still haven't surfaced on mainstream pop or anything of that sort, so it's indeed a gradual effort to get Collective Soul back as a Top 40 staple. "How Do You Love" is the track that can push Collective Soul back up onto CHR/Pop, and I think that is going to happen if "Collide" and "Daughters" did likewise for Howie Day and John Mayer. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This is actually getting a faster start than Better Now did. It will be interesting to see if this keeps developing.

I heard this on my Hot AC station when I was driving about 15 minutes ago. The only thing I noticed was that the guitar intro part was cut out and maybe it ended a little quicker. In any event, I'm glad to hear this on radio already.

I emailed my morning DJ last night to request that they play it. Then turned on my radio this morning in my offfice and heard that Ed Roland was in studio!! What a coincidence. I heard the very end of their interview with him and then they played HDYL. Yay! When I got home tonight I had an email from the DJ telling me that he was to be on that morning and that she'd have him say "hi" to me! Missed it though. :'( I emailed her back tonight and hope to get an answer as to whether she actually mentioned me or not. Cool!

+99 tonight! Should be over 100 tomorrow and should debut next week if all goes well. I'd expect it to be in the top 20 by the end of October and top 10 by early December. I'm soooooooooooo excited for them!!!

Hello! New here but I know Ragin from another board. I can see what thirddegree means about 'Yellow' though to me HDYL sounds like a cross between 'The World I Know' and 'Listen.' In any event, it fits right in with a lot of stuff being played on the radio right now so I think it should do well.

How is this song doing??? I haven't heard it but once on my Hot AC station. And that was when Ed Roland was in studio. Nothing since. I really want this to blow up for them, but I'm getting kind of worried. What do you guys think??

It's had steady gains between 50 and 65 for the last few weeks so it's still doing okay. It also moved up from 38 to 32 on last week's and could hit the top 30 this week. There's really nothing to worry about. Although after its big first week I thought it would explode, it's running on a predictably slow but steady path. I still have no doubt that it will be bigger than "Better Now" and be one of this winter's biggest hits for this format!

Yeah... Better Now did the same thing. It's just got to start picking up stations. I think HAC is really starting to pull away from pop and play what they want... (Santana, Sheryl, GGD). I hope they do the same for this and Anna Nalick. (and Alanis)

I had hoped that Better Now would've paved the way for a faster rise with this song. I'm concerned this isn't going to be the hit I had hoped and thought it would be. Top20 is still very attainable, but for any shot at all on Pop, this needs to hit the top5 here.

Top20 is still very attainable, but for any shot at all on Pop, this needs to hit the top5 here. Just because it is Collective Soul should tell you that pop radio would not be giving this a chance, even with exceptional performance on HAC. And besides, more often than not, it is pop radio that influences HAC stations, not the other way around. There are, of course, exceptions, but I wouldn't hold my breath for pop radio giving Collective Soul a shot. And at the rate this song is going (not in the top 20 gainers or in Taking Off), I think this song won't even make the top 20.

It would make sense that 'Better Now's success on HAC would help HDYL, but I wonder whether that is always the case. It seems sometimes the earlier single overshadows the follow-up. This is purely anecdotal, but for example, I would say that Rob Thomas' second solo single has been outplayed by 'Lonely No More' about 5-1 during its chart run so far. Same thing happened with mb20's 'Bright Lights' after 'Unwell.' I don't know how it is anywhere else, but in this market it seems the radio people take the easy way out a lot of the time and just keep playing the same single rather than giving the new one a real chance.
