If this is peaking, this is disastrous for Xtina. This song pulled out all the stops, used every trick up her sleeve, and still couldn't even make Top 20? This is not good. It's #19.

The song is not a good choice for a lead single and people aren't liking it for the most part. Its iTunes performance makes that obvious. The fact that she has done zero promotion and this was released during this heavy release period makes everything worse.
Hopefully this is her "I'm Not Dead" era and she has a smash on the album that will be released soon to revive her career. Even Pink didn't do this bad with Stupid Girls after Try This flopped. I NEVER thought I'd see the day that Christina would struggle like this.

It peaked at #20 a few weeks ago and is #19 now. Still, very disappointing. This song has hit written all over it. Terrible timing among other things. :(

But...I thought "Moves Like Jagger" was a huge hit because of Xtina?

I NEVER thought I'd see the day that Christina would struggle like this. But she's practically been experiencing diminishing returns for the past decade. In the US, she's been less and less successful with each album she's released. I thought between The Voice and this being her most radio friendly song in years, she'd at least be able to outdo her last album.

If this isn't at least a top 10/15 hit, her career is over. So, yeah...

The thing is Christina thinks she's some kind of sexy vixen and the public doesn't quite see it the same way. Her team should stamp a big NO on the image she's unconvincingly portraying; sex only sells if you're sexy.
On first listen I enjoyed this song the most since any single she's put out since her debut. After time it just hasn't sat well with me. "Tonight's your lucky night I know you want it." Are you so sure 'bout that Xtina? That sounds more like a threat than a reward. Then she SCREAMS after it which makes you think she'd be shouting out loud and cackling during her, uh, most intimate moments. Not a pretty picture.
Her biggest hits tend to be those that have nothing or very little to do with sex. THE PUBLIC IS HOLDING UP A MIRROR TO HER FACE AND SHE DOESN'T WANNA SEE IT. She's in front of America twice weekly on The Voice so she's been handed an incredible platform to win the public back over, but she ignores them. It's stubbornness and delusion.

I kinda feel the same way. It's a catchy song, but it comes across as a little too aggressive/angry and scary almost the way she's shouting the lyrics. I feel like the Back to Basics style, both music and image wise, worked really well for her....the sound was a breath of fresh air and they weren't focusing so much on her sex appeal. I don't get why they can't just go along that route. It's like this era they're trying to put sex appeal on full blast.

This wasn't her best effort or Max's. I wouldn't listen to it on the radio but I wouldn't skip it within the context of the album. If that makes sense.
On to the next single.
I think it is rather clear she isn't going to be the highest priority on RCA.

Well, if this has in fact peaked, I hope they have something KILLER lined up for the next single, and dont give up on the era. Given the producers she has worked with, I can't imagine this was the absolute best song they had.

A song that's higher on iTunes than Xtina's ten months after it's release... Xtina deserves nothing. And her CC deal is essentially the f**king definition of payola. What CC deal? ??? Clear Channel.

I fear that painful, inevitable freefall down the chart that awaits this song if it has truly peaked.

I think this was a perfect lead single for the fall. Everything was looking great for her. The only problem with all of this was that there was ZERO promotion.

I don't think that a lack of promotion was the problem.

I know it's not looking good, but this isn't over until its bullet is negative and when it starts getting at least 50/70 spin decreases.

I don't think that a lack of promotion was the problem. We're all entitled to our opinions.. that's what makes it great. However, I think that the song fit in perfectly on radio, sounded fresh, wasn't over the top like other singles she's released lately, the vocals weren't growling at me every three seconds, and I think that ultimately promotion is what did this song in..

Has the overly sexy image ever really worked for her? Dirrrty didn't perform well, Not Myself Tonight was a bomb. Why does she keep trying it?

She hit the jackpot with Dirrty ...That song pretty much made her a global superstar....It performed excellet internationally...it was a #1 hit in a lot of places outside the US.

They need to not make the same mistake everyone else does in her position and delay a second single. Single #2 needs to come out next week, maybe the week after with a bit of a hype, in order to salvage this era.

She's in a tough spot now, though. There's more competition than ever on iTunes right now. Maybe wait a week? But she shouldn't release a thing unless it comes with a high-profile performance within 24 hours.

Has the overly sexy image ever really worked for her? Dirrrty didn't perform well, Not Myself Tonight was a bomb. Why does she keep trying it? My thoughts exactly. She is a nearly 32 year old single mother of a young child who, IMO, is still trying to sell sex and a sexually aggressive image amidst a significant weight gain in past several years. Not only this is cringeworthy and embarrassing for any artistic growth at this stage in her career, her (perceived) self-image and perception to others are wholly incongruent. Add to that an arrogant, over-confident reputation to her peers and radio personalities from within the industry, it should come as no surprise that this song is doing poorly. I confidently believe that if Katy Perry, Kesha, etc. released this song, it would be much more commercially successful.

The second single needs to be released within the next two weeks with performances for it lined up. It needs to pretty much act as a lead single and sell the album. If they don't do that, I can't imagine how abysmal her first week sales will be.
