Catch My Breath isn't bad and at least Die Young is catchy and fun to listen to. Diamonds is one of Rihanna's best single. Why Xtina's fans always try to drag other artists ? I think there is some insecurity going on but it's normal. I mean Beyonce fans experienced it last year and Britney fans endured it during the mid 2000s :'( Mimi fans early 2000s, Madonna fans during the sex book/erotica era...so on and so forth. |

Have her performances boosted her tracks in the past? Like said, for some, it works, and for others, performances have minimal impact.

I guess this update is better than a negative update. Still, in need of a +40 update at least.
This is doing rather well in Canada. #17 on CHR and gaining, and #14 on iTunes with 2 new entries yesterday.

As much as I love this song I do agree that the overly sexy image is a bit much. Don't get me wrong she is and always will be a gorgeous woman to me but as Neally said, she's a mother and she's in her 30's and she REALLY developed herself with Stripped and B2B and it's almost like she's going backwards. I'm not going to start calling her a 32-year-old teenager though until I hear the rest of the album because hopefully she will prove me wrong. |

I find it strange how this already has almost twice as much views as Not Myself Tonight. It seems like more people are checking for her which makes this all the more disappointing.

Has the overly sexy image ever really worked for her? Dirrrty didn't perform well, Not Myself Tonight was a bomb. Why does she keep trying it? She hit the jackpot with Dirrty ...That song pretty much made her a global superstar....It performed excellet internationally...it was a #1 hit in a lot of places outside the US. It may have done well worldwide but it was a major disappointment chart-wise in the US. If she is trying to appeal to the US audience again, I really don't think the sexy thing was the route to go. Historically, she's found the most success with more "serious" songs. And yet time and time again, she tries to be Britney Spears and come out with a ~*sexy club jam*~ that no one wants from her. |

Definitely way more than the other 'big name' new releases that have come out in the last few weeks. I'm by no means a Christina fan, but I really don't mind this. I think I would actually full on like it if the screaming was toned down. |

Let me clarify, KMJ, that by "it," I meant the video. :)
She's not a very compelling performer, at least when it comes to uptempo tracks, so i dunno if a performance for this track would do all that much. Just look at how the video didn't really impact its sales.

I have been suspicious that Christina may have lost the confidence that she feels she requires to proficiently and consistently perform her uptempos. IMO, her vocal performances, especially on her uptempos, have markedly declined over the past several years, especially during the 'Bionic' era, which I feel were terrible for Christina's standards. Perhaps she recognizes that she is but a shadow of a vocalist from her heyday, especially on these uptempos, which may account for the surprising lack of a performance of 'Body' to date. Thoughts ? |

I think what happened here is that her team was trying to get her back to a recognizable look for the public after Bionic. Bionic was such a deviation from her previous stuff, even image-wise, which I'm sure is being touted as a reason for the album's commercial flopping. Her team probably thought "What will help people remember who Christina Aguilera is" and immediately thought to back to her 2002 Skanktina looks because for a VERY long time, people associated Christina Aguilera with piercings, sex and a general lack of hygiene.
The problem is that they should have taken her back to the 2006 Motown look because trying to go back to the image/sound she had at the height of her popularity doesn't really work when she looks so drastically different now than she did then.
