"Chandelier" lands a third week on top of the chart as "Black Widow" inches closer to taking the crown. Sia ties with "Dark Horse" and "I Want It All" for second longest running number one of the year. "Chandelier" does have a chance to take the second place all to herself next week if "Black Widow" doesn't get there first. Iggy and Rita rocket from five to two this week. Meanwhile, Lindsey Stirling and Paramore remain at their positions of three and four. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea slip to five with "Problem." Yes, that means Iggy Azalea just swapped positions with herself this week. Kinda cool.

Below the top five, Clean Bandit climbs back a spot to number six with "Rather Be" as Demi Lovato climbs a spot to number seven with "Really Don't Care," reaching a new peak. Lorde falls two spots to number eight with "Tennis Court." Ty Dolla $ign and gang gain a spot to number nine with "Or Nah." Rounding out the top ten is a re-entry from Tech N9ne and his gang on "Fragile." "Fragile" knocks out "Up in the Air" from the top ten.

Below the top ten, Kacey Musgraves spends a third week in a row at number 11 with "Keep It to Yourself." Becky G climbs to a new peak of 12 with "Shower." "Up in the Air" lands at number 13. Lily Allen climbs back up three spots to 14 with "Sheezus," matching the song's original peak. Katy Perry's "Birthday" slips to 16 as X Ambassadors slip to 20 with "Jungle." The rest of the top 20 is all brand new! Killing it at number 15 is AJR with "I'm Ready." The song climbs a massive 18 spots from number 33 last week in only its second week on the chart! All the while, it gains 6.5 points claiming the title for Biggest Increase of the Week. A gain of 6.5 points is MASSIVE! Up ten spot to 17 this week is MAGIC! with "Rude." At 18 is Sam Smith with "Stay with Me" and 19 is Charli XCX with "Boom Clap." For MAGIC! and AJR, this is their first top 20 hit. For Charli and Sam, this is their second. Both had featured credits on top 20 hits with "I Love It" and "Latch" from Icona Pop and Disclosure respectively. They peaked at number one and number five. The four new entries kick out "Feelin' Good," "Stay High (Habits Remix)," "Partition," and "Forever" to 21, 22, 23, and 25.

Below the top 20, songs gaining new peaks include Sam Hunt's "Leave the Night On" up 38 to 26, Imagine Dragons' "Tiptoe" up 32 to 27, and Travis Barker's "Live Forever" up 35 to 30. Ed Sheeran's "All of the Stars" also returns to its original peak of 38. The chart also sees one debut. Coming in at number 28 is Ed Sheeran yet again with "Don't," the second single from x, his second album. This is Ed Sheeran's third chart entry following a featured credit on Taylor Swift's number seven peaking "Everything Has Changed" and the currently charting "All of the Stars" at its current peak of 38. "Don't" kicks out SoMo's "Oh, Hell" from the chart.

"Chandelier" rocks the chart with its fourth week on top, becoming 2014's second longest running number one hit of the year after Clean Bandith and Jess Glynne's ten-week run with "Rather Be." "Chandelier" even increases in points on its stay on top. Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora are putting up a hefty fight, though, as "Black Widow" also gains in points at number two, gaining on "Chandelier." Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale also are non-movers at number three with "Shatter Me," spending a third week at its peak. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea climb back up a spot to number four with "Problem" as Lorde enters the top five with "Tennis Court." "Court" becomes Lorde's fourth top five hit following the number one smash, "Royals," and the two number-two peaking "Team" and "Glory and Gore." "Court" knocks out Paramore's number one hit, "Ain't It Fun," from the top five.

Below the top five, Ty Dolla $ign and gang jump to a new peak of number six with "Or Nah." Paramore slides to number seven with "Ain't It Fun" as Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd slip a spot to number eight with "Really Don't Care." The rest of the top ten is brand new! Entering at number nine is Lily Allen with "Sheezus," the fourth single from her third album with the same name. "Sheezus" becomes Lily's second top ten hit following "Air Balloon," which peaked at number two a few months ago. Rounding out the top ten at number ten is Becky G with "Shower." "Shower" is Becky G's first top ten hit. "Shower" and "Sheezus" knock out "Fragile" and "Rather Be" from the top ten. They fall to 13 and 15 respectively.

Below the top ten, Thirty Seconds to Mars makes a slight rebound to number 11 with "Up in the Air," which previously peaked at number nine. Kacey Musgraves slips a spot to number 12 with "Keep It to Yourself." X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons zoom up six spots to a new peak of number 14 with "Jungle." This is in no doubt aided by the fact that the song is used in the end credits to Hercules. If you didn't already know, I currently work at a local movie theater as an usher and concessionist. As an usher, I've cleaned Hercules multiple times, each time jamming to "Jungle." Below that, Charli XCX and Sam Smith continue to chart together with "Boom Clap" and "Stay with Me." Last week, they tied in points, but "Stay with Me" has the higher bullet, putting it on top. This week, they tied again, but because they both increased the same amount of points, I just flipped their positions from last week. Now "Boom Clap" is on top at a new peak of 16 from 19 last week. "Stay with Me" also earns a new peak of 17 up from 18 last week. At number 18, Tove Lo and Hippie Sabotage re-enter the top 20 with "Stay High (Habits Remix)." AJR and MAGIC! round out the top 20 with "I'm Ready" and "Rude" at 19 and 20, respectively. AJR suffers from the monthly rolling effect and are likely to go back to racing up the chart next week. MAGIC! falls simply because it just lost a few points. The competitiveness of the current chart is also making songs move up and down in much bigger bursts than normal. Tove Lo's re-entry kicks out Katy Perry's "Birthday" from the top 20. It falls to number 23.

Below the top 20, songs earning new peaks include Ed Sheeran's "Don't" up 28 to 21, Sam Hunt's "Leave the Night On" up 26 to 24, Imagine Dragons' "Tiptoe" up 27 to 26, and Ed Sheeran's "All of the Stars" up 38 to 34. It's also worth noting that Lorde's "Glory and Gore" gained in points and returned to number 28 as Shakira and Blake Shelton also climbed back up to 30 with an increase in points. Shakria also climbed with "Empire," up two spots to 37, while also gaining points. The chart also sees two debuts. Coming in at number 39 is "Bang Bang," the lead single from Jessie J's upcoming third album. "Bang Bang" debuts on the chart at the same week of being added, a feat that not many songs can claim. In fact, most songs that do that go on to become big hits for me, including the current number one, "Chandelier." "Bang Bang" is Jessie J's fourth chart entry. She will always be remembered as the artist with the first number one hit ever, "Domino," and she also has a top 20 hit with "Wild" and a second top ten hit with "Magnetic." "Bang Bang" also featured Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. This is Ariana's third chart entry following "The Way," which made the top 20, and "Problem," which peaked at number two and currently sits at number four. This is Nicki's eighth chart entry following five top ten hits (two of which went to number one), a top 20 hit, and a top 30 album track entry. Debuting at number 40 is Tiësto and Matthew Koma's "Wasted." This is Tiësto's first chart entry and Matthew's second following a featured credit, but main vocalist (like in "Wasted") on Zedd's "Spectrum." "Spectrum" peaked at number two. The two debuts knock out Lily Allen's "Air Balloon" and SoMo's "Kings & Queens (Throw It Up)."

I haven't added the second half of the points, yet, but current standings has "Let It Go" at number one with a nice lead, but "Rather Be" has leaped "Team" to join the top four and is quickly gaining on the number one spot in initial chart points.

Lorde is absolutely killing it with initial chart points placing her at #5 with "Team," #11 with "Royals" (lol), #12 with "Glory and Gore," #23 with "Tennis Court," #94 with "Buzzcut Season," and #102 with "Ribs."

Over on the summer chart, there are only four more weeks remaining in the tally. The seasonal charts are compiled exactly like the year-end charts are, so only the initial chart points have been accounted for so far.

"Rather Be" is barely #1 with "Chandelier" less than 2 points behind it. Lorde currently has two top ten entries, though other songs are quickly gaining on "Glory and Gore"'s top ten placement. Karmin's "Pulses" rounds out the top 20, but several songs are gaining on it quickly, including "Black Widow," "Jungle," "Shower," and "Or Nah," which all sit right outside the top 20. "Chandelier" racks up a fifth week at number one as it continues to gain in points! The song crosses the 27 point barrier this week, becoming only the third song to do that, following the two ten-week number one smashes "Wrecking Ball" and "Rather Be." Is "Chandelier" on track for a ten-week run at number one? It has stiff competition with Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora's "Black Widow" also getting record high points at number two. Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale also remain at number three with "Shatter Me," which gains in points again this week. Rocketing up to number four is Becky G with "Shower," which zooms up from ten last week. Rounding out the top five is another new entry: Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd's "Really Don't Care." The track becomes Demi's second top five hit after the number one hit, "Heart Attack," and it also becomes Cher's third top five hit following "Want U Back" and "I Wish." The two new top five entries kick out Lorde's "Tennis Court" and Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's "Problem" from the top five.

Below the top five, Ty Dolla $ign and gains remain at number six with "Or Nah." Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea slip to number nine with "Problem" as the top ten becomes ultra-competitive. The rest of the top ten is brand new. Entering at number seven, skyrocketing up nine positions, is Charli XCX's "Boom Clap." This is Charli's second top ten hit following her feature on the two-week number one hit, "I Love It," with Icona Pop. Entering at number eight, up 11 spots from 19 last week, is AJR's "I'm Ready," which shows that it could pose a huge threat to number one in the coming weeks. Finally, entering at number ten is X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons with "Jungle," becoming both artists' first top ten hit. The three new entries kick out Lorde's "Tennis Court," Paramore's "Ain't It Fun," and Lily Allen's "Sheezus" from the top ten. They fall to 12, 11, and 19 respectively.

Below the top ten, Kacey Musgraves gains in points again with "Keep It to Yourself," but slips a spot to number 13. Sam Smith climbs to a new peak of 14 with "Stay with Me." Thirty Seconds to Mars follows Kacey is suit by gaining points, but slipping in positions as "Up in the Air" falls to 15. MAGIC! makes a resurgance to a new peak of 16 with "Rude," up from 20 last week. Clean Bandit and Tove Lo both slip in positions with "Rather Be" at 18 and "Stay High (Habits Remix)" at 20. Ed Sheeran has the sole new top 20 entry with "Don't" at number 17. This becomes Sheeran's second top 20 entry following his feature on Taylor Swift's "Everything Has Changed." "Don't" kicks out "Fragile" from the top 20, which falls to 21.

Below the top 20, songs earning new peaks include Sam Hunt's "Leave the Night On" up 24 to 22, Imagine Dragons' "Tiptoe" up 26 to 23, Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj's "Bang Bang" up 39 to 26, and Tiësto and Matthew Koma's "Wasted" up 40 to 39. "Bang Bang" rockets up 5 points this week becoming this week's Biggest Increase of the Week. Alternatively, the Biggest Decrease of the Week goes to Beyoncé's "Partition" at number 27, down 1.7 points. The chart also sees two debuts this week. Debuting at 33 is Colbie Caillat's "Try," the viral hit that comes from the singer's Side A EP of Gypsy Heart. This is Colbie's third chart entry following "Favorite Song" and "Hold On," which peaked at 13 and 10 respectively. Katy Perry debuts at number 38 with "This Is How We Do," the fifth single from PRISM. Since the chart's January 2012 inception, Katy has racked up seven top ten hits, three of which hit number one, and one album track that peaked at 38. "How We Do" follows the four previous PRISM singles, "Roar," "Unconditionally," "Dark Horse," and "Birthday," which were all top five hits peaking at 4, 1, 1, and 2 respectively. Colbie and Katy kick out Ed Sheeran's "All of the Stars" and KONGOS' "Come with Me Now." "Chandelier" is replaced at the top spot! Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora finally climb to the number one position after three weeks of sitting at number two with "Black Widow." Interestingly, though, the song loses points as it takes the top spot. Many songs lose very large point totals this week, which is to be expected. Today marks my first full day back at college in St. Joseph, so point totals are bound to start returning to their normalcies. Poor "Chandelier" was hit the hardest as this week also happened to fall on the rollover for three-month plays for the song, and if you recall, it debuted the same week it was added with 13 points, meaning the song had way too much difficulty holding it up this week, so it lose over 5.5 points, dropping to, oddly enough, number five. Becky G climbs a spot to number three with "Shower," a new peak. The rest of the top five is brand new! Zooming up from eight to two is AJR's "I'm Ready," the SpongeBob SquarePants inspired track is fighting to be the next number one hit. Charli XCX also climbs into the top five with "Boom Clap" after entering the top ten last week at number seven. "Boom Clap" and "I'm Ready" kick out "Shatter Me" and "Really Don't Care" from the top five.

Below the top five, Demi Lovato slips a spot with Cher Lloyd to number six with "Really Don't Care" and Ty Dolla $ign and gang slip a spot to number seven with "Or Nah." Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale drop to number nine from number three last week with "Shatter Me." The rest of the top ten is brand new! Entering in at number eight is Ed Sheeran with "Don't," the second single from his second album, x. "Don't" becomed Sheeran's first top ten hit as a main artist and second overall following the number seven peaking "Everything Has Changed" with Taylor Swift, who is poised to premiere a brand new song tomorrow. Look for a possible big debut next week with that! Also entering the top ten at number ten is MAGIC! with their summer smash, "Rude." This is the band's first top ten entry. "Rude" and "Don't" kick out "Jungle" and "Problem" from the top ten. They fall to 15 and 16 respectively.

Below the top ten, Sam Smith climbs to a new peak of number 11 with "Stay with Me," pushing Paramore's former number one, "Ain't It Fun," down to number 12. Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj spice up the top 20 with their smash hit, "Bang Bang," which, in only its third week, smashes its way up 13 spots to number 13. "Fragile" and "Bang Bang" kick out "Stay High (Habits Remix)" and "Sheezus" from the top 20. They fall to 23 and 21 respectively.

The chart also sees two debuts from the same artist. Hilary Duff made her musical comeback just a few weeks ago with the release of the single, "Chasing the Sun." "Sun" makes its chart debut at number 28 this week. This week, Duff released her supposed first official single (rendering "Sun" a buzz single), "All About You," set to impact radio later this week. "You" debuts on the chart at number 40. Now, even though "Sun" debuted 12 spots higher than "You," "You" has the more impressive debut at this was the song's add week for me, meaning there was no wait time between its add date and its debut, whereas "Sun" took a few weeks to make the chart. These songs are Hilary Duff's first chart entries, though she likely would be one of the most successful artists in chart history had the chart been around back then. These two songs are Duff's first releases since 2009's "Any Other Day," a track she did for a indie film's soundtrack in which she starred in. She knocks out Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" and Tiësto and Matthew Koma's "Wasted."

"Black Widow" takes a second week on top of the chart on a week with lots of point losses. It's been an incredibly busy week for me, so songs are taking a tumble in point totals, which was to be expected thanks to the end of summer. In fact, only three songs increased in points this week. Charli XCX's "Boom Clap" jumped to a new peak of number two this week, but is not one of the three. "Boom Clap" and AJR's "I'm Ready" in fact switch positions and Becky G remains at number three with "Shower." Racing up into the top five and top ten in the same week is Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj with "Bang Bang." This is one of the three gainers this week. The song becomes Jessie J's second top five hit following "Domino" and third top ten following "Domino" and "Magnetic." This is Ariana's second top five and top ten following "Problem." As for Nicki, it is her fourth top five following "Turn Me On," "Starships," and "Va Va Voom." It is her sixth top ten following the same three songs plus "Pound the Alarm" and "I'm Legit." "Bang Bang" knocks out Sia's "Chandelier" from the top five.

Below the top five, Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd remain at number six with "Really Don't Care." Sia slips to number seven with "Chandelier." MAGIC! climbs to a new peak of number eight with "Rude." "Tennis Court" lands at 16 and "Keep It to Yourself" at 17. Number 18 is a new top 20 entry from Imagine Dragons with "Tiptoe." This becomes the rock band's fifth top 20 following "It's Time," "Radioactive," "Demons," and "On Top of the World." Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea slip to number 19 with "Problem." Tove Lo and Hippie Sabotage take another re-enter into the top 20 with "Stay High (Habits Remix)" to round out the top 20. Tove and Dragons kick out Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne's "Rather Be" and Thirty Seconds to Mars' "Up in the Air" from the top 20. They fall to 21 and 22 respectively.

"Break Free" is Ariana's fourth charting hit following "The Way," which peaked at 13 last summer, and the currently charting "Problem," which peaked at number two, and "Bang Bang," which sits at number five. This is also Zedd's third charting hit following the top ten hits "Spectrum" and "Clarity." The final debut is Lorde's "Biting Down," a track from the singer's debut The Love Club EP that has recently been used in commercials for the Netflix series Hemlock Grove. This marks Lorde's EIGHTH charting hit, with this being the third from the EP to make the chart, following "Royals" and "The Love Club." None of Lorde's four main singles have failed to reach the top five on my chart. The other three album tracks all reached the top 30 with "Buzzcut Season" also reaching the top 20. The three debuts kick out "Chainsaw," "Love Never Felt So Good," and "Empire" from the chart.
