The new picture isn't bad, it is just clearly not as good, and really highlights what a lame cover it is. The other picture was so striking it distracted me. Oh well. I still don't get the beef with a GH tracklisting (not just here, generally--I mean, unless they leave off monster hits, there's only so much that can go right/wrong...).
CMB seems to be performing great so far. The real test will be once it gets into the top 10 with all the other huge songs.
And, haven't watched it yet, but I'm glad we finally got a lyric video. If she's going to continue to be so apathetic about videos, I'd rather just get really excellent lyric videos for her songs.
Lastly, now that two covers have been floated out there, maybe there is a deluxe and standard edition. They could put Don't Rush, IBHFC, and AMLT on a deluxe edition with this cover, or vice versa. I think 17 tracks is okay for a standard GH, but they may split it up.

I try not to add to negativity but I gotta be honest that I am not a fan of this new cover - she is so much prettier than that. And her facial expression is awkward.

I don't think this one is hideous but the first one was definitely better. The border blends a bit better with this one, but the picture is odd. Oh well.

I liked the first picture but it looked SO MUCH like the CMB cover it made me not like it as much since it was so similar.
I still dislike the massive border. Why?

Covers mean nothing in this case, so it really doesn't matter. At least it is not as bad as AIEW cover. Also, On the Breakaway album cover it didnt even look like her and was a bad picture, and it did quite well, so I dont get all the fuss.

I was thinking - do you think they are releasing a Greatest Hits album now because Kelly is planning on splitting labels and they both know it? How many more albums does she have left with RCA?

Whatever happens, I want album #6 to be the start of Chapter Two. Stronger, to me, is her best album--and my favorite--but I'm ready for some real movement forward. Change, progress, exploration. I want the album titled "Phase II" or "Shedding My Skin" or something to that effect and I want the music to follow suit and deliver. I hope that's partially why she agreed to this GH, to sort of close this chapter of 20-something, Miss-Independent, power-pop-rock radio bait and find her more soulful, singersongwriter roots. I don't mean to have an album that denies any commercial viability, but one that isn't so hung up on it (and I do think Stronger was moving in that direction).

UGH I groaned when I saw the new cover, they took away the only good thing about the cover! They used a mediocre picture and paired it with that hideous border. Shaking my head at Kelly's team, how could they be that stupid.
Jack's covers there are exactly what they should have used, those are perfect.

it is just SO painfully obvious that they should've kept the orig. pic and greatly removed that blatantly 'trying too hard to be artistic/unecessary 'border' or just greatly reduced it. :// It's like the border was designed by an art student in 9th grade who's an 'aspiring artist' who used his free photoshop-esque download software that he got from Cnet.com LOL

LOVE IT. Those G#5s and the head voice parts are amazing. I love the R&B twist to that Annie Lennox song. I especially love the loads of G#5s and crazy run up to A#5 in head voice! |
