I guess Try by Pink isn't going to get a crack at the top 10 after all.. its sales and streaming just aren't strong enough.

www.billboard.com/#/news/chris-tomlin-scores-first-no-1-album-on-1008092552.storyLast week's No. 1, Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble," slips to No. 2 (261,000; down 20%), will.i.am & Britney Spears' "Scream & Shout" rises 4-3 (189,000; down 7%) and Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" drops 3-4 (162,000; down 31%). The Lumineers' "Ho Hey" ascends 7-5 (153,000; down 18%), Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" (featuring John Martin) climbs 10-6 (145,000; down 5%) and Phillip Phillips' "Home" slips 5-7 (122,000; down 38%). Pitbull's "Don't Stop the Party" (featuring TJR) rises 11-8 (just under 122,000; down 19%), Justin Bieber's "Beauty and a Beat" (featuring Nicki Minaj) dips 8-9 (119,000; down 31%) and PSY's "Gangnam Style" falls 6-10 (105,000; down 45%). Digital track sales this past week totaled 28.83 million downloads, down 17% compared with last week (34.53 million) and up 1% stacked next to the comparable week of 2012 (28.56 million). Year to date track sales are at 63.36 million, up 3% compared to the same total at this point last year (61.32 million).

www.billboard.com/news/bruno-mars-leads-hot-100-as-justin-timberlake-1008098722.story Bruno Mars Leads Hot 100 as Justin Timberlake's 'Suit & Tie' Debuts Bruno Mars remains atop the Billboard Hot 100, as "Locked Out of Heaven" spends a sixth week at No. 1. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop," featuring Wanz, meanwhile, surges to No. 2, as it crowns the Digital Songs chart, and Justin Timberlake returns with "Suit & Tie." As it maintains its command over the Hot 100, "Heaven" logs a fourth week at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart, despite posting a 2% decrease to 146 million all-format audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. "Heaven" holds at No. 2 on On-Demand Songs, gaining by 2% to 1.07 million on-demand streams (and 1.28 million streams overall), according to BDS. It drops 3-4 on Digital Songs, down by 31% to 162,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Macklemore & Lewis' "Thrift Shop" roars 5-2 with the Hot 100's top Digital Gainer award. It concurrently dethrones Rihanna's "Diamonds" atop R&B/Hip-Hop Songs after a 14-week reign and notches a second week at No. 1 on Rap Songs. After the pair's independently-released album "The Heist" blasted onto the Billboard 200 at No. 2 the week of Oct. 27, the track reaches the top of Digital Songs, hiking by 18% to 279,000 downloads sold. Released on the act's Macklemore imprint (with distribution by ADA), the song is the first independently-distributed title to top Digital Songs since Artists for Haiti's "We Are the World 25: For Haiti," billed as on the We Are the World Foundation label, led the weeks of Feb. 27 and March 6, 2010. Macklemore & Lewis' comical tribute to 99-cent bargains rules On-Demand Songs for a second frame, registering 1.33 million on-demand streams (up 19%). (It boasts 1.46 million overall streams.) "Thrift" charges 38-22 on Radio Songs (44 million, up 33%). The rap track is earning support at multiple formats, bulleting at No. 9 on Rhythmic, No. 17 on Alternative Songs and No. 23 on Pop Songs. "Heaven" sports a lead of approximately 3,000 overall Hot 100 chart points over "Shop" (after leading last week's No. 2 title, "Diamonds" by about 8,000 points). "Locked" loses 13% of its points from last week and "Shop" gains by 20%, perhaps setting up a close race for No. 1 a week from now. Timberlake could also have a say in who occupies the summit next week; keep reading for details on Timberlake's track and expected top 10 rank next week. The Lumineers' "Ho Hey" rebounds from No. 4 to its No. 3 peak to date on the Hot 100, while leading the Rock Songs chart for a ninth week. It stays at No. 3 on Radio Songs (1.13 million, down 3%), bullets again at No. 4 on On-Demand Songs (1.03 million, up 10%) and rises 7-5 on Digital Songs (153,000, down 18%). After surging 4-2 two weeks ago, Taylor Swift's "Trouble" dipped to No. 3 last week, although with the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award. This week, the cut slips to No. 4 but claims the airplay ribbon again, ascending 7-4 on Radio Songs with a 17% increase to 95 million. "Trouble" falls 1-2 after three nonconsecutive week atop Digital Songs (261,000, down 20%). The song is not available to subscription streaming services and, thus, does not appear on On-Demand Songs. Rihanna's former three-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Diamonds" slides 2-5 on the Hot 100, ahead of will.i.am and Britney Spears' "Scream & Shout" (8-6). The duet edges 4-3 on Digital Songs (189,000, down 7%) and enters the top 10 (11-10) on On-Demand Songs (793,000, up 19%). It pushes 21-17 on Radio Songs (53 million, up 16%). EDM trio Swedish House Mafia scores its first Hot 100 top 10 with its fist chart entry, as "Don't You Worry Child," featuring John Martin, climbs 11-7. The track elevates 7-6 on On-Demand Songs (870,000, up 11%), 10-6 on Digital Songs (145,000, down 5%) and completes its top 10 trifecta by notching a 15-10 boost on Radio Songs (65 million, up 5%). Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Justin Bieber's No. 5-peaking "Beauty and a Beat," featuring Nicki Minaj, descends 7-8, Phillip Phillips' "Home" falls to No. 9 from its No. 6 peak last week and Flo Rida's fellow No. 6-peaking "I Cry" is a non-mover at No. 10. Among the Hot 100's seven debuts is Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" at No. 84, his first entry as a lead artist in more than five years. The lead single from his forthcoming album "The 20/20 Experience" starts at No. 33 on Radio Songs with 36 million airplay impressions totaled in its first two days of airplay, as it was released at midnight Monday morning (Jan. 14). Radio Songs runs on a Wednesday-through-Tuesday tracking period, so Monday and yesterday's airplay alone spurs the song's Hot 100 debut. Sales and streaming data run on a Monday-through-Sunday cycle, so those data fields will affect the Hot 100 standing for "Suit" starting next week. As it's projected to sell between 330,000 and 350,000 downloads by the end of the SoundScan tracking week on Sunday night (Jan. 20), and with a full week's-worth of streaming data factored in, as well, the song could challenge for the top of the Hot 100 when the chart is compiled, and highlights are posted on Billboard.com, next Wednesday (Jan. 23). Its airplay, however, may not be high enough by then for it to challenge for the No. 1 slot, although a vault to the top five is a possibility

"Thrift Shop" has to be the highest indie-charting single. "Suit & Tie" is gonna explode.

THe songs I predicted right are in bold
1. BRUNO MARS - Locked Out Of Heaven 2. TAYLOR SWIFT - I Knew You Were Trouble (should be #4) 3. THE LUMINEERS - Ho Hey 780.364 4. MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - Thrift Shop f/Wanz (Should be #2) 5. RIHANNA - Diamonds 6. WILL.I.AM. - Scream & Shout f/Britney Spears: 584.462 7. JUSTIN BIEBER - Beauty And A Beat f/Nicki Minaj: 566.477 (should be #8) 8. PHILLIP PHILLIPS - Home: 538.608 (should be #9) 9. FLO RIDA - I Cry: 535.511 (should be #10) 10. SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA - Don't You Worry Child f/John Martin: 511.004 (should be #7)
So, except #2 and #4, I predicted almost every song right. Altough I didn't predicted #7 to #10 right, the order of the #7 to #9 songs are right, only the Swedish house Mafia should have been #7.
And actually, I did predicted that Thrift Shop would have been #2. I didn't see that it had 2 versions, so I only calculated with 1 of the 2, wich made it end up much lower than #2.
This week only 4 songs right. :'( I hope that next week will be my 2nd week that I'II get the complete top 10 right.

I'm surprised Taylor's label hasn't at least put "I Knew You Were Trouble" on streaming. She could easily get another Hot 100 number one out of it. Not the be all, of course, but seems like it'd be an easy fix.

YESSSSSS, finally Swedish House Mafia score a US top 10 and can join the rest of the world in the chart success! It probably won't go #1 but I'm happy just to see them pull this off. :)

I think now that Taylor's team has checked "Hot 100 #1" off the bucket list, they aren't pressed about making sure every single reaches the summit. She's filled that gap in her resume, so now they can just go back to maximizing those single/album sales, even if it means keeping her singles off streaming sites.

We don't know for sure how many Spotify users wouldn't have bought the song if they could just stream it there I know plenty of people who have a Spotify account during work but use iTunes at home and vice versa. It's really not always a case of one or the other.

True that use of Spotify (and other on-demand services) does not preclude purchase, but no one ever said it did. His point was that one can't actually know how streaming availability would have impacted sales during the past weeks, which means one can't make a definitive statement about streaming's ability to place "I Knew You Were Trouble." atop the Hot 100 were it available in past weeks, as did the post to which he responded.

That seems pretty technical/PC. IKYWT has had scorching sales. What song, since the streaming chart debuted, has been a multi-week #1 on the digital chart but not been top 3 or top 5 on streaming? I think it's very safe to say that if Taylor put the song on Spotify, she'd have another #1 Hot 100 single. Now, obviously, Taylor & Big Machine don't care much as Red is absolutely KILLING it.

With Taylor debuting on the Hot 100 this week, she passes Madonna: Solo women to make the most appearances in the Hot 100's 54-year history: 73, Aretha Franklin 57, Taylor Swift *new* 56, Dionne Warwick 56, Madonna 53, Connie Francis 48, Brenda Lee 44, Mariah Carey 42, Nicki Minaj 41, Barbra Streisand 40, Mary J. Blige 40, Diana Ross Taylor will probably reach 100 by the time she's 30 at this rate. :o

I counted an extra one for Swift somewhere- will have to check that. Those Pitch Perfect entries didn't disappear from the chart. I got my earlier figure direct from Billboard. I'm sure they'll give us an update.

anyone know the 2nd release off the Phil Phillip album? they should be releasing it today, to ride off of Home's success and the start of AI.

Billboard.com:
1/26/13 Billboard charts:
As Taylor Swift bullets at No. 4 (with Airplay Gainer honors) on the Hot 100 with current pop single "I Knew You Were Trouble.," she debuts another "knew" track: "The Moment I Knew" starts at No. 64. The latter song bows after being released digitally in the iTunes Store and on the U.S. Target-exclusive deluxe physical edition of parent album "Red." It was previously available only on the set's Canadian version.
The new "Knew" marks Swift's 57th Hot 100 entry, pushing her past Madonna and Dionne Warwick for the second-most appearances among women in the chart's 54-year history. With 73, only Aretha Franklin has more. (Among all acts, the "Glee" cast leads with 205.)
Here's an updated ranking of the women with the most charted Hot 100 titles:
73, Aretha Franklin 57, Taylor Swift 56, Madonna 56, Dionne Warwick 53, Connie Francis 48, Brenda Lee 44, Mariah Carey 42, Nicki Minaj 41, Barbra Streisand 40, Mary J. Blige 40, Diana Ross 39, Janet Jackson 39, Rihanna
Notably, Swift has benefited from charting in an era in which album cuts, as opposed to only commercially-available singles (often promoted to radio), can appear on the Hot 100 (a rule change enacted the week of Dec. 5, 1998). Of her 57 Hot 100 hits, 20 have spent just one week on the chart, a majority of which arrived thanks to hefty digital sales the weeks that her albums "Fearless" (2008), "Speak Now" (2010) and "Red" (2012) debuted atop the Billboard 200 album chart.
Still, Swift's top 10 total - 14 - is in line with most of the other women with the highest sums of Hot 100 visits.
While Madonna has tallied a Hot 100-record 38 top 10s, Franklin has collected 17 and Warwick, 12
