Or because she makes every month-long relationship sound like it was super serious and 5 years long.

Well she certainly knows how to exploit her dating life. If a guy wrote as many break up songs about women like she did at the drop of a hat, he'd be branded a misogynist.

That reminds me of in the late 90s, when all the female R&B acts were singing about how men are dogs. While I don't think R&B and pop music were full of acts singing about women being hos, sluts, etc., there's always been plenty of it in mainstream rap music.

Yeah rap music, that's expected. Misogyny, homophobia, etc... It hasn't changed through the years. But imagine if someone like Justin Bieber kept releasing songs as often as Taylor about breaking up and girls who screwed his heart, he'd be labeled a woman hater so quickly. Who the hell would even want to date Taylor knowing that they will probably end up as the target/subject of her next "song".

Don't fuck with Adele Taylor. I will kill you or I will sing a song about you. And you will not like it either way. But you never know what's it gonna be. Watch yourself.

Female singer-songwriters have been writing about their relationships in songs for years.Jewel, Michelle Branch,Vanessa Carlton etc. were writing about their relationships. There is nothing wrong with what Taylor does. This is what every female singer-songwriter has done for years in the music industry. Why should Taylor stop doing what she is doing? The formula has made hit songs for her. Why change what works?

When your current album has already eclipsed the triple-platinum threshold in its first season of release..........yup, this strategy of excavating the ruins of her relationships for golden nuggets to predicate her recordings on is clearly serving her well, and is unlikely to change anytime soon! ;)
Even if she were to fantasize fifty scenarios as to how to murder one of her ex-boyfriends on tape, and then incorporate mariachi brass into it musically, it would be as big a hit as her previous releases! ;)

I thought most people in here would take anything introspective from their favorite divas so I'm surprised that some want Taylor to change the lyrical themes of her songs. I'm sure if she did more 22s they'd call her a sell-out and that she's the new K$ or sth.

Or because she makes every month-long relationship sound like it was super serious and 5 years long. Well people are different and do experience emotions differently. It doesn't take "x amount of time" to fall in love or develop feelings for someone. There is no magical formula or time frame on something like that. She's said before she's a girl who falls quickly and just goes all out for it when she does. Just as there are people who are walled up and take their time in giving theirself to someone else (for whatever reason), there are people like Taylor. Also, it's kind of hard to even judge a situation like this in the first place given we all don't know how long they were actually together and how much time they spent together during the period when they were linked. At the end of the day it's a bit offputting to me that people are passing judgment centered on Taylor's personal life (something they don't have the slightest bit of knowledge about, other than what she's given us lyrically), citing tabloids and gossip magazines as credible sources (aligning their coverage with blatant fact). These people stay in business due to such gullible behavior. I'm not saying there's no truth in any of it, but there is also a lot of untruths in them and it's kind of hard to sift through and seperate the two without talking directly to the source. And this whole speculation of her releasing "The Moment I Knew" because it's rumored that her and Harry broke up is silly. I'd say it's most likely because Big Machine only allowed Target exclusivity of these bonus tracks until the end of the year (hence why the first track was released on the first full week of January).

To be fair to Taylor, she has written positives songs about men such as 'Mine', 'Enchanted', etc. And she's more than willing to call herself out when she was the problem in the relationship like in 'Back to December'.

^ Not only that, but she's written many songs that have nothing to do with romantic relationships ("Mean," "Ronan, "Never Grow Up," "Eyes Open," "The Lucky One," "Change," "Christmas Must Be Something More," "The Best Day"). And some of the "relationship" songs are from her own imagination, rather than taken straight from her own personal experience. ("Speak Now," "Starlight," "Mary's Song," probably others).

I want to see Taylor at #1 this week. Might be her last chance since JT's single drops today.

No. It was a bonus track from the Target deluxe edition. Correct? It wasn't put on iTunes. It IS on iTunes now, though. I forgot this part: "when Red was first released."

I want to see Taylor at #1 this week. Might be her last chance since JT's single drops today. This was the first daily update in wich Taylor was bigger than Bruno in my prediction. It probably won't be #1 this week. :'( But I still hope that Taylor will get that #1

Ok thanks.
I suppose it will set some sort of digital record, but debut at #1 won't still be easy.

Ok thanks. I suppose it will set some sort of digital record, but debut at #1 won't still be easy. He's gonna have 2 days (plus 3 hours west coast, 2 mountain time, 1 central time) of airplay, and if he has a clear channel deal (very likely) he will debut on airplay alone. :'(

Finally, Ed Sheeran broke the top 10 :) I'm not really a fan of his but I've been quietly rooting for his song to get there for a while now.

She's addicted to self, everything is about her. Tina Fey told Taylor some good advice at the Golden Globes tonight.
