The song and video haven't even been out 24 hours and so many people are already preparing for its demise. Do you see anything wrong with that picture? These reviews are written by one-track minds who are probably praising Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha. As far as iTunes, chart positions fluctuate. I think this single is really awesome! Give it time, people!

I thought the video was cute. I wished there were interactions between her and Trey in bed or something. Also, is her face a bit puffier here?

I think the reviews for "You're Mine" are a product of frustration at the delays and not "delivering" with all the expectation of top notch "product" with the extra time. I mean I like the song, but it is pretty cookie cutter/safe especially after the hope that we got with #Beautiful of perhaps new sounds. We will have to see what happens with the rest of the album. However, the critics have never really mattered for Mariah's career anyway.

Like I chimed in last night. This song is a 7. It is not a smash... that die hard MC fans are saying... Been playing all day, and it's just not catching on.

I didn't get the need to go to Puerto Rico for this. This is not the nu Roar. No honey its not! and she felt the need. Honey was also shot there so a better response wouldve been this is not the nu Honey.

The song is good. It's not incredible, but it's good. The video is...competent. It could have been much better. But it's Mariah. Her last real video, for me was Obsessed. It was an actual video worth watching. She looks like a girl pretending to be a pop star at times in this video. As opposed to a legendary songstress returning to the scene. Mariah just needs an actual manager who won't give in to her and who will tell her the cold hard truth. Where's the woman who filmed the Honey and Heartbreaker videos? She needs to please stand up.

Was Mariah's Manager in her Honey era and Rainbow Louise McNally? She was let go after Glitter then hired again.. When was the last time she managed Mariah?

Mariah is in desperate need of a reminder that music videos need a hook as much as the song itself nowadays,

I think Mimi might be pregnant. she seems swollen up and in shots of her standing in that lingerie she wore for Elvis i saw a baby bump. Mimi had fat moments but she never had a belly, never.

I don't think she'd be drinking 5 gallons of alcohol a day if she was pregnant...

I like the song (and the remix) and I think it will continue to grow on me. My ranking of the last 5 songs that Mariah released:
1. #Beautiful 2. The Art of Letting Go 3. Almost Home 4. You're Mine (Eternal) 5. Triumphant
The first three songs are such a different sound from her and a break from her usual formula, and I actually enjoy them a lot. Like some have said here, You're Mine easily fits into the sounds of her previous singles (prior to Triumphant). This is not necessarily a bad thing though, especially since the song itself is pretty and her vocal is superb. Actually, this might be more palatable for radio. I'll be satisfied if it has a similar chart performance to #B, anything more than that is a bonus for me.
All in all, I really love her output from the last couple of years (yes, I even enjoyed Triumphant). I hope the album continues to showcase different sounds from her.
Edit: I don't know why the last two paragraphs are in italics. That is not on purpose, lol.

I'm glad reviewers are dragging this for being a WBT retread, which I have said from the beginning. #B was fresh; YM is not. That said, YM is more radio-friendly. If this can't succeed at radio, then Mariah is officially done at radio, which is fine. As long as I get that album on 5/6, I'm cool. Still have no desire to watch that video again. As for her potential pregnancy, well...alcohol is known for its bloating effects.

I've had You're Mine on repeat all day. Im featuring it; I can't help but feel like this is just the kind of track she needs at this point in her career. Mimi done good.

You're Mine is by far the best song she's released this era.
The remix is FIRE.
My rank:
1. You're Mine 2. Almost Home 3. #Beautiful 4. Triumphant Remixes 5. TAOLG
I LOVE the video. I love the story, the concept of video.
For once, Mariah video does not look raunchy and trashy. (#Beautiful)
She's topless but still has class.
The forest fairy theme works very well, I thought the wings were a nice touch lol
I was surprised how it was beautifully shot quite artistic even. I guess I have to thank the director for that.
The beginning where the song goes "Suffocating" that gown water shot is also fantastic.
I do hope her next video is a continuation of the story because of the ending.
I'm expecting some sort of reunion between the two separated lovers.
:)

I definitely am enjoying this song...I don't so much find it to be a retread of WBT...thematically is it similar? Sure. Is it a midtempo/ballad type song with a harder beat? Yes. But that's where the similarity ends...melodically it's got it's own thing going on, and the vibe of the song is much different from WBT. The chorus especially (the softly sung bits) has a dreamy quality. It's weird...she is sort of whispering that section, and it's actually my favorite part of the song...
I would personally rank this higher than #Beautiful. I liked that song, but I didn't LOVE it. Perhaps that's because Mariah didn't actually show up on the song until like the 1:30 mark. I like Miguel and all, but give me Mariah. I haven't seen the video yet btw...I tried last night on my iPad as I was going to bed but it wouldn't load...

Yeah I'm thinking not so much...because like others mentioned she was having "splashes" during those interviews. Also, childbirth changes a woman's body, so she may hold weight a bit differently now.

Yeah, I definitely don't agree with the WBT retread thing. Does it fit in the Mariah catalog well absolutely. If you play this song and WBT after, you realize the differences.

Is it true that the video will continue with the remix?
I read on another forum that there's a story arch similar to It's Like That/ WBT.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. :)

It's not a retread, but it's part of the WBT family, in terms of similar keyboard beat sounds. I didn't like the video though yes, it has great scenery but I'm tired of seeing her scarcely clad, in bikini, bra-less, striking diva poses, beauty shots, etc. She's beyond that at this point. At least she was fully clothed in AH, my favorite song this era so far. Anyway. I hope she manages a top 20 this time around, but it seems to be a more uphill battle than with #B

Yes, but isn't she suppose to be a forest nymph? It would be completely ridiculous if she was fully clothed.

The Filipinos are killing it! Original #1 and Remix is at #2 They don't play. She needs to do an appearance there; she'd surely break local records! :)

Lol at forest nymph. The video has a laid-back approach, just like the song.

She is too old 2 B a nymph! According the Nymph Wikipedia page (probably the most official in all the lands), there really isn't an age restriction for being a Nymph. I don't believe they all die off at 25. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymph

I would've cared that this was a "beat ballad" (really, that's the only similarity) if it weren't for "Beautiful" and "The Art of Letting Go." "Beautiful" was the breath of fresh air everyone needed. "The Art of Letting Go" led me to believe that she had lost her ability to write a song.
Yeah, this is nothing new for her. Like others have said, though, love songs are her forte. Quite frankly, when she's not singing about love/sex or getting her drink on, she's not on her game.
As for why she's falling on iTunes: the video was fine, but not something a user would want to watch over and over, like a lot of her videos from Butterfly, Rainbow, 2005-2008 and "Obsessed." In all honesty, iTunes is probably more important than radio and youtube now anyway at launch. MDs and PDs sit down for their weekly music meetings and use iTunes positions much more than they probably should to gauge audience reaction when making their playlists (see "X.O." or even "Drunk In Love"). The last time she invested in major iTunes advertising for a single and an album resulted in her 18th No. 1 and her biggest first week sales. She must have some beef with Apple or something, I don't know.

Any time Mariah does a ballad with a beat, it gets compared to "We Belong Together". It's not stopping anytime soon. If this song is similar to any of her other songs, in my opinion, it's "H.A.T.E.U.," but even that one drew comparisons to "We Belong Together". If she was the one singing Tamar's "Love and War," I'm sure critics would have said "following in the vein of her comeback anthem We Belong Together...". Meanwhile, no one drew that comparison when Tamar sang it.

I don't believe they all die off at 25. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymphbut they do say several times young :) anyways, I am trying and trying to like this new song, been listening to it at least 20 times - original + remix but I just do not feel it :( I put HATEU right after so I am listening to this great song now
