LOL, so this is Fergie's fate in 2015. nice coverup job- it'll be like that comeback attempt never even happened. Now the question is whether Black Eyed Peas can still happen or not? I'm sure they'll be UK-big, but the US could go either way. If it's an album of "Imma Be" junk, let the other side of the Atlantic keep them. To be fair though, was anyone really asking for a BEP return at the start of 2009? They were pretty much seen as a fun mid-00s rhythmic pop act. That didn't exactly hinder them from scoring big hits over the next 2 years and selling a huge amount of concert tickets. They don't even have to do half of what they did then for this to be considered a successful final act.

First Gwen was planning a solo album and a No Doubt album in 2015. Plans may change after what seems to be a (deserved) floppage of STF. Fergie was supposed to release her comeback album in 2015... And she's done better than Gwen! (LA Love could've been bigger had promo started earlier ) what's gonna happen now? I have hopes of Ferg's album! But BEP could also be good... Just wish that'd happen in 2016

No Doubt/BEP releases this year don't necessarily have to be replacements for Gwen/Fergie albums. Let's be honest, nobody was expecting either Gwen or Ferg to come back with massive eras considering neither has had a solo hit in the better part of a decade. It makes perfect sense for the label to release the solo & group albums one after the other to maximize exposure.

Has it really been 5 years since the last album? Wow. Doesn't seem that long. I'm not uber excited about this but I'll check it out soon. I think someone needs to take the reigns from will though. Their last singles were kind of awful.

Latest comments from will.i.am:
"I can't give too much detail, but the PEAbodies, there's a bunch of PEAbodies out there that we've been Tweeting back and forth for the past couple of days, on the excitement of 20 years of the Black Eyed Peas. We're gonna have new music, we'll have a bunch of new experiences, I don't wanna call them albums. We'll have experiences and a bunch of stuff to get the PEAbodies, and the folks that supported us, that got us to this point, all the support the love, the encouragement and listening to and sharing our music. We'll make music for them, and just reflect on the initial dream we had in June 1995."

Fergie and BEP can co-exist. Fergie isn't the only performer in BEP. It may be harder for Gwen and No Doubt since she's the only singer in the band.
I'm not looking forward to the album at all, their albums tend to be pretty atrocious affairs. But I'm sure we'll get a few hot singles at the very least.

I could see this ending up as a greatest hits era , that would flow better with a simultaneous Fergie era

I'm excited to see what they can cook up instead of a traditional album. I feel like Robyn laid a nice foundation with the Body Talk series back in 2010, but no major pop acts have tried out alternatives to making an album.

His comments about albums just make me sad about what the industry has turned into. Albums are what it's all about but so many have forgotten about them, it's a shame.
I'm excited to hear what they've got for us either way

I'm sure his tune would be a lot different had #willpower sold millions.

YES!!! I idolized them at the beginning of the decade. And also "I Gotta Feeling" is my all time favorite song!

Time to resurrect this thread from the dead. BEP appeared at Coachella over the weekend to perform a new song apparently either called "Awesome" or "This is Awesome." Check out the performance/story here
Also, Taboo posted a photo of the group together on his Facebook page. He included "#awesome" so I'm going with that as the title as of right now.

Perhaps they'll revamp any of Fergie's new solo material and turn it into possible BEP album tracks a la Nicole Scherzinger/Pussycat Dolls?

I'm sure his tune would be a lot different had #willpower sold millions. To be fair though, he was saying the exact same stuff before THE END came out. He's been pushing that view pretty consistently since then. I'm still really excited for this.

Their sound is simply nowhere near as popular in today's music as it was 6 years ago when they logged 26 straight weeks atop the Hot 100. It's going to be a real struggle to pull off even a minor hit from this era.
Hoping for the best though. My favorite artist growing up, Elephunk and Monkey Business were on repeat for hours in my bedroom.

So they gon' do this without Fergie? I sure hope not. Seeing that picture of all 4 of them made me feel better about the whole thing but who knows. It seems like Will is just not willing to let her be the face of the group as many want her to be.

Phife Dawg on this one. Sounds like an old school classic.

If not for this Pulse thread I would've never known they had an album out. Didn't see anything on Billboard or Spotify, etc. Almost like there was a zero budget for promotion. Or perhaps all the promotion was done in online circles I don't frequent??

First album in 8 years. I can't wait to give this a full listen. I love them returning to their old school sound on some of these tracks. "Big Love" should get a serious single push.

#111 on iTunes. Will this even chart on the top 200? This will for sure be their lowest selling album in the US. Currently their first release, Behind the Front, has sold about 200,000 copies. But it seems that this will also be their lowest charting album, and if it even charts is definitely questionable. Behind the Front (1998), #129 Bridge the Gap (2000), #67 Elephunk (2003), #14 Monkey Business (2005), #2 The E.N.D. (2009), #1 The Beginning (2010), #6

If HITS is any indication, they sold less than 2,200.
