I'm really happy for Pink! Congratulations to her. I'm also really happy to see Mirrors finally entering the top 10. I hope it keeps moving on up.

8.6 was for two days though, so it'd be more like 8.6 x 3.5 = 30 million. More if we count that it's a bit less than two days, and the first day was the slowest so far, so 35-37 million seems more realistic I'd probably even estimate the number of views to be smaller by the end of the week's tracking period. So 25-30 million seems pretty likely. May or may not be enough for #1 depending on sales and airplay of it and the other songs around it. I thought that too but it's not showing any signs of slowing down yet from what I can tell, and this is Psy, so if there's anything we've learned from Gangnam Style's views, it's to always overpredict with him

So yeah most of Psy's views are outside the US. I'm surprised the song is not doing that good in sales in America.. I'm not surprised. It makes sense that it'll be doing the worse in sales in a country where it's getting the least views (in regards to overall population) Yeah, you're right XD "Gentleman" is a cool song so I don't mind if it hits #1 altough I'd like a 2nd week for JGMAR, her only multi-week #1 is "Lady Marmalade".

Even through last week, Gangnam Style sat at the top of U.S. youtube and has been that way for 23 of 34 weeks. With that track record, the new one will certainly last longer than a week or two.

It's so funny that Billboard's decision to include YouTube points is a make or break for Psy in North America from being labeled a one-hit-wonder. Without YT, the song likely wouldn't make the Hot 100. With it, it could be #1 this week or next week. That's a huge difference. Without it, he doesn't have a "hit". With it, he has a big "hit". It's just odd to think about it in such grand terms. Billboard is the deciding factor even if absolutely nothing else changes. Without YT in the Hot 100, Psy would still have MILLIONS of views and tons of press and attention but not an actual "hit" because the sales and airplay aren't there (yet - if ever). I hope he gets there just because the drama that happens every time it happens is amusing. But I also want Pink to get it too so Psy can wait. Without YouTube points gentleman would still likely have made the hot 100 in its chart run. Not this week but next week it deff would with sales in the teens on iTunes all week

...and just like that "Harlem Shake" is gone. Congrats to P!nk and Nate Ruess! totally deserved. So yeah most of Psy's views are outside the US. I'm surprised the song is not doing that good in sales in America.. UGH, those people that comment at Billboard are idiots, WTF with their spamming and stupidity? >:( Well give America a chance...most people don't even know about the song. I would not have known if I didn't come to this site. I would have found out by watching The View, which aired a snipped of the video the other day.

GENTLEMAN won't reach us hot 100 top 10
I'm sure
he will end as one hit wonder
this is the JESUS JONES effect
like i call it
JESUS JONES had a # 2 hit on the hot 100 in 1991,
and they had another hit REAL REAL REAL which made # 4 on the hot 100
but 99 percent of the people think they are one hit wonders
i have seen their name on dozens of ONE HIT WONDER COMPILATIONS

Oh my...lol. How can anyone say it won't reach the top 10?? I think everyone can agree it's going top 10 next week, even a shot at #2 or #1.

Note: Just because you have two hits on the Hot 100 does not mean you still won't be classified as a one hit wonder. The measure of that is how many of said hits are remembered after an extended period of time has passed. See: Leona Lewis. For your info leona had 4 usa hot 100 hits. Bleeding love peaked at number one, better in time peaked at number 11, I will be peaked at number 66, and happy peaked at number 32.So I would classify leona as a 4 hit wonder, not a one hit wonder. She also had a number one dance hit with collide.

I'd classify her as a two hit wonder. #32 and #66 aren't really hits.

Which brings us back to one thing - there is no universally clear answer as to what a one-hit wonder is. Lists can be statistically generated Lists can be generated by popular vote or by memory of the person making the list. Lists can be generated by any definition that someone could come up with In any case... Lists are subject to the definition that the person making the list wants it to be. These lists are always subject to critique because the person offering the critique has a different definition in mind.

My guess he will be top 5 next week.

fwiw I had considered Leona a one hit wonder. When looking up "Better In Time" I had no clue what it was, but as soon as it started playing I recognized it. However I knew right away Leona sang "Bleeding Love" and could sing that one without any thought. Hence why I can definitely see people thinking of her as a one hit wonder.

Obviously VH1 didn't stick to the criteria of a sole Hot 100 entry, or even top 40 entry, when it aired its wonderful list of Greatest One-Hit Wonders.

One hit wonder definitions can be anything.
Here is one: The Beatles are one-hit wonders because the only song I know the words to is 'Let It Be'

Well the point is, just because you or your friend does not know a song or does not remember a song does not mean it was not a hit and it does not mean that it is generally accepted in the US as such Another persons memory might be different
