Zebra's Top 50/100 - September 29, 2013 - Week 17

- New number one! Lorde moves up to number one in her second week with "Team". This is the fastest song to hit number one, not counting "Roar"'s number one bow and thus beating Karmin's "Acapella" (three weeks). This is her second chart topper, after the two week number one "Royals", which slides from 4 to 6. Lorde's other song in the top ten, "Tennis Court", rebounds from 5 to 4. "The Love Club", her other entry on this week's chart, falls 10 places from 38 to 48. 
- OneRepublic holds at number two with "Counting Stars" and they also move up 39 places with "Something I Need", this week's second greatest gainer. Lana & Cedric thus fall to number 3 with "Summertime Sadness", although they move up with "Young And Beautiful", from 49 to 42. Drake with featured artist Majid Jordan jumps into the top five with "Hold On, We're Going Home", moving from 10 to 5. Katy Perry also slips from 6 to 7 with "Roar", Gaga holds at 8 with "Applause", and Selena Gomez pulls into the top ten with "Slow Down" at number nine. This is her highest entry to date. The Neighbourhood make a bold move into the top ten, leaping from 24 to 10 with "Sweater Weather". 
- Two songs thus fall out of the top ten, Phillip Phillips's "Gone, Gone, Gone", a previous chart topper (his follow-up single, "Where We Came From", moves from 94 to 87) and "Oh Sailor" by Mr. Little Jeans ft. TSCOMYC. Overall, the top ten should start moving faster as the top of the chart keeps getting stronger. 
- The greatest gainer of the week flies up 43 spots to number 13, just right behind the current top ten and the two drops. The gainer is "White Walls" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. ScHoolboy Q & Hollis. It will most likely be their second top ten (the featured artists' first) after "Can't Hold Us", which peaked at number five. However, on my backdated charts (once they finally catch up), "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us" will have both been huge hits this year.
- Martin Garrix and Katy Perry/Juicy J also move into the top twenty with "Animals" and "Dark Horse", respectively. It is Martin's first, Juicy's first, and Katy's second top twenty hit. However, as mentioned on last week's chart, Katy has a strong history on my chart. 
- Other songs to look out for are Tamar Braxton's "All The Way Home" (23), Linkin Park and Steve Aoki's "A Light That Never Comes" (26), Bonnie McKee's "American Girl" (31), Fitz And The Tantrums's "Out Of My League" (29), Imagine Dragons's "On Top Of The World" (30), Daughtry's "Waiting For Superman" (34)", Britney Spears's "Work Bitch" (36), Imagine Dragons's "Demons" (39), Lana Del Rey's "Young And Beautiful" (42), Ellie Goulding's "Burn" (41), OneRepublic's "Something I Need" (46), Eminem's "Berzerk" (47), ande Imagine Dragons's "Monster". 
- This week Imagine Dragons extend their lead for most top fifty singles so far, with "It's Time", "Radioactive", "Demons", "On Top Of The World", and now "Monster" making it there. Lorde is in second with "Royals", "Tennis Court", "Team", and "The Love Club". However, Pure Heroine comes up next week so that is bound to change. Ellie Goulding is also tied for second with "Figure 8", "I Need Your Love", "Burn", and "Fall Into The Sky". 
- Lana Del Rey boasts the largest drop this week, falling 25 spots with "This Is What Makes Us Girls", but this is only because I am trying to weed out older songs due to backdated charts. Note the drop outs of most of the older songs. 
- Zendaya boasts the highest bow this week, with "Replay" re-entering at number 56. The Arctic Monkeys are right behind, however, with "Do I Wanna Know?" at number 64. AWOLNATION boasts two songs debuting/re-entering this week. In a strange move, "Sail" comes back at number 73, likely in it's fourth run on my chart, although we'll see how long it lasts, and "Not Your Fault" debuts at 82. Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, and Lil Wayne debut at number 75 on the chart with "Beware". This is odd because I never really enjoy Big Sean's songs but this one is okay. Maroon 5 comes back with "Lucky Strike" at number 89 and Justin Timberlake comes in at 95 with "TKO". Both are artists with strong chart histories, so we'll see how this goes. Janelle Monae comes in at number 96 with "Dance Apocalyptic", the follow-up to "Q.U.E.E.N.", a previous top ten. Ciara debuts at number 97 with "Overdose". Example also debuts with "All The Wrong Places" at 99.

All of the Lorde songs are fantastic! Expect all three to remain in the top ten. "Counting Stars" is amazing and it really deserves it. It should hang in there for a while but getting number one isn't so sure at this point, as "Tennis Court", "Sweater Weather", "Animals", "Team", and "White Walls" are all real threats. If it was winter or spring or even late summer it would be a multi-week number one smash. I have recently discovered it and I love it. So good. Expect "Animals" to keep going up, as mentioned. It should climb a little bit more, but my chart is so competitive right now.  :'( Expect a big jump from Britney on my next chart (working on it now!).   Not sure how high "Berzerk" will go.   "Something I Need" is great, and I expect it to really smash once "Counting Stars" lets up.  :) Oh, thanks to both of the last points. I thought you'd like that flashback. Thanks for commenting, juanito.

1. Flawless song. I'm glad you'll join soon, and "Royals" deserves that number one smash.  :)
2. I love it, as you can see. It is way more interesting than the other singles so far, and it was a strange decision to save this for the 3rd single. However, more momentum for them and Native is always welcome. 
7. Yay! Twins!  Such a good song, if it was any other time of the year this would have been a multi-week number one smash.  :'(
8. "Applause" should continue to go up! I have actually started this week's chart and I have moved it up. It is relly growing on me and I am starting to love it. You'll have to check back to see where she ends up.  :))
9. "Slow Down" is really good. I tend to love Selena songs anyways, and this did not disappoint. Too bad this may be her only week in the top ten, the top of my chart is so strong. However, it has outpeaked "Come & Get It". 
10. So good. I'm afraid I haven't heard 'Afraid". I need to check it out. 
17. Derk Horz is amazing. I agree that it deserves single status at some point. Haha, it is too good not to chart. Katy's songs tend to be favorites of mine. :)
33. I Need Your Love has had a great run so far. It would have probably already nabbed a week at number one when the album came out. 
37. I actually love this song, and it has also moved up on my new chart so far. I expect it to keep rising and go at least top 20. It so good.  :)
41. This one isn't done yet, either.
64. Do I Wanna Know? is coming to smash. I'm so glad I checked it out after seeing it was Slizzard's number one because I love it now. :)
75. Beware is an interesting one... not sure how it will do, but I already enjoy it more than most of Big Sean's work. 
76. Just Give Me A Reason has also had a great run. She would have nabbed several weeks at number one back in April/May before Radioactive took over, and this one should be high on my year end. It's so good, and it has had an amazing run!

- Lorde holds down the top spot for a second week with "Team". It is her second number one, and she is the first artist to collect two number ones on my chart.
She looks to replace herself at number one as early as next week with "Tennis Court". Speaking of Lorde, thanks to Pure Heroine she has ten songs charting, with "Team" at number one, "Tennis Court" at number two, "Royals" at number 7, "The Love Club" at 53, "Bravado" at number 54, "Million Dollar Bills" at 68, "Biting Down" at 81, "Ribs" at 82, 

"A World Alone" at 85, "Glory And Gore" at 86, and "400 Lux" at 93.
- OneRepublic slips one place to number 3 with "Counting Stars". This may still have a chance for number one, so look out. Drake & Majid Jordan rise one place to number 4 with "Hold On, We're Going Home". Lana and Cedric thus fall two places to number 5 with "Summertime Sadness" while Gaga is right behind (moving up two places) with "Applause". Lorde slips one place with "Royals", although she has had an amazing week this week. The Neighbourhood move up two more places with "Sweater Weather". This is also a strong contender for number one in the coming weeks.
- Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, ScHoolboy Q, Hollis, and Martin Garrix all boast new top tens this week. The first four are all on "White Walls", which moves 13 to 9, becoming Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's third top ten hit (second official), ScHoolboy Q's and Hollis's first. Martin Garrix flies 19 to 10 with "Animals", becoming his first top ten ten.
- Other debuts this week are: Katy Perry's "Walking On Air" at 74, Justin Timberlake with "Starwberry Bubblegum", "Gimme What I Don't Know (I Want)", and "Murder", although the rest of his songs off Part 2 have a chance of charting once they get more spins, and John Newman with "Love Me Again" at 98.
 - Greatest gainer is Arctic Monkeys with "Do I Wanna Know?", flying 64 to 28. Tamar Braxton, Zendaya, Britney Spears, and Fifth Harmony all make large upward movements as well. The greatest dropper is Nicola Roberts with "Yo-Yo", falling from 53 to 71. This is do to the fact that the older songs are being purged because of my in progress backdated charts. 
- Only 14 of my original charting songs remain. A most weeks on tag will appear once it narrows down further.

• Yeah! I've seen that about Lorde. Three top 2 and two of them have been #1. Impressive.
• I really hope OneRepublic could sneak, at least, a week atop, but in case they couldn't, it would be great to see slaying the Top 10 ;)

• I don't think "The Fox (What Does the Fox Say)" is bad. From of all the songs that went viral, I think it's the best (I previously thought "Gangnam Style" was better, but I changed my opinion).

Zebra's Top 50/100 (October 13, 2013) - Week 19

- OneRepublic ascends to the number one position, with some encouragement from juanito, who's wanting of "Counting Stars" to hit number one encouraged me to listen to it more, and thus I realized that I couldn't leave it with a number two peak. Thus, "The Way" and "Tennis Court" are my only number two peaks thus far, and "Tennis Court" looks to break that soon, as it holds at number two this week.
- Lorde's "Team" falls to number three. Drake and Majid Jordan hold at number 4 with "Hold On, We're Going Home". Lady Gaga moves up one place to number 5 with "Applause" and The Neighbourhood moves up two places to number 6 with "Sweater Weather". Lana and Cedric thus get ousted from the top five, which is a shame because at any other time in the year it would have stuck around forever. Macklemore & friends moves up one place with "White Walls", while Lorde drops two postions with "Royals" and Martin Garrix holds at number 10 with "Animals". A very static top ten this week, but things look to change in the coming weeks.
- Future top ten contenders to look out for are: Tamar Braxton's "All The Way Home" (13-11), Britney Spears's "Work Bitch" (20-12), Arctic Monkeys's "Do I Wanna Know?" (28-14), Bonnie McKee with "American Girl" (22-16), "Thinking About You" (21-19), Linkin Park & Steve Aoki's "A Light That Never Comes" (24-22), Imagine Dragons with "Demons" (30-23), already a top ten hit, Zendaya's "Replay" (40-25), "Holy Grail", "On Top of The World", and several others. For many of these acts it is their first top ten/will be their first top ten. Others are veteran acts or are just now breaking the top forty.
- Lady Gaga nabs the highest debut with "Aura" at 51. Several others debut as well, including "Sonnenstanz (Sun Don't Shine)", "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?", and "The Mother We Share". 
- Example nabs the greatest gainer award with "All The Wrong Places", up from 100 to 44. 
- The largest dropper was "Dark Horse", dropping from 18 to 50. However, it will rebound once it gets single treatment or once I play it more.
- "Counting Stars", "Gone, Gone, Gone", "Radioactive", "Demons", "The One", "Safe And Sound", "Clarity", "I Need Your Love", "Figure 8", "Pompeii", "Stubborn Love", "Just Give Me A Reason", "Dance With Me Tonight", and "The Way" all nab the most weeks on chart award. All of these except "Pompeii" have hit the top ten. It is interesting to see that only 14 out of 50 of my original songs still remain. Many of the others were simply older songs that had no more room to rise, got pushed off in their prime, or just burned on me really quickly. Three of these, "JGMAR", "The Way", and "DWMT" are all at risk of falling off as early as next week. The twenty week mark is coming, and it doesn't seem like twenty weeks at all. So for now, 11 songs are almost guaranteed that mark.

Yeah, I've been listening to those. I heard "I Luv This S**t" on the radio and it's okay. It may debut in the lower end. Most of the songs in the lower half of the top fifty are really just album tracks or singles that I am either late on or don't care for too much. So "White Walls" and "Something I Need". I'm curious as to which is which. Thanks for commenting!

Something I Need is the one I haven't heard & White Walls is the one I don't really like that much, Idk maybe I'll catch on, but I'm just not feeling the song yet. The chorus line is okay but I don't really like the rap verses in it.

"Something I Need" is great. And I agree on "White Walls", the chorus is my favorite. The rapping is just okay. That'll probably hurt it in the near future. However, I still love it.

Zebra's Top 50/100 - October 20, 2013 - Week 20

- Lorde ascends to number one in the 20th week of my chart. I have finally reached double digits bigger than the teens! Anyways, "Tennis Court" moves 2 to 1, becoming her third number one. She is the first artist to score three number ones on my chart, having also reached it with "Royals" and "Team". OneRepublic slips one to number 2, although it is still a strong contender for number one.
- Drake, Lady Gaga, and The Neighbourhood all move up one with their respective songs. They are all intensely strong and at any other point in the year would each hit number one. Now, that isn't so certain. Thus, Lorde falls 3 places to number 6 with "Team". Macklemore & Ryan Lewis & Friends move up one place with "White Walls". Martin Garrix also moves up one place.
- Two new songs enter the top ten, the first being "Do I Wanna Know?" by The Arctic Monkeys, moving from 14 to 8. The other is "All The Way Home" by Tamar Braxton, moving from 11 to 10. 
- Jay-Z/Justin Timberlake and Zendaya enter the top twenty with "Holy Grail" (26-17) and "Replay" (25-19). Both are their first top twenty entries, although neither are strangers to my top twenty or my chart.
- Lady Gaga, Klangkarussell, and Example all boast new top 40 entries. Gaga enters with "Aura" (51 to 30), her second top 40 hit. Klangkarussell/Will Heard enter with "Sonnenstanz (Sun Don't Shine)" (54 to 33), their first entry. Example enters with "All The Wrong Places" (44 to 39), his second entry.
- Zedd and Hayley Willams re-enter at 47 after they plunged off last week (aka I forgot them :x) with "Stay The Night". Lana Del Rey enters with "Dark Paradise" at 59, also a re-entry. Zebra's Top 50 - October 27, 2013 - Week 21

 - Lady Gaga sets the record for largest climb to number one with "Do What U Want" with R. Kelly, flying from 71 to 1. It was by far my most loved and listened to track of the week, and it completely threw me off. I thought Arctic Monkeys or OneRepublic would take over, but no, Gaga had to come and slay my life. :'( She also moves up one place to number 3 with "Applause". This is likely it's peak, as other songs seem to be racing up, she has a number one right now, and it is getting older and starting to burn on me a bit. However, this has been an amazing era so far in my opinion. "Aura" moves up from 30 to 29 as well.
- Lorde falls to number two with "Tennis Court". Arctic Monkeys move up four places to number 4 with "Do I Wanna Know?". OneRepublic falls from 2 to 5, The Neighbourhood falls from 5 to 6, Drake and Majid Jordan fall from 3 to 7, Macklemore & friends fall from 7 to 8, "Team" falls from 6 to 9, and Martin Garrix falls from 9 to 10. This is an insanely crazy top ten, and top twenty in general so don't count any of these out yet.
- The rest of the chart may or may not be posted, I haven't decided to keep posting it or cancel it or just keep it in my records. Anyways, Katy Perry is likely dominating it.
