Enjoyed the video but is it so hard for her to film something 'serious'? Props to her though for always putting her humour in the forefront of her videos. I just had a completely different visual for this song.  The masterpiece of Thinking of You would like to say hello. |

I did have amazing dark visions for this video with fire and witchcraft a la the Grammys performance BUT I love the video. It's classic Katy style - fun, colourful, humorous and campy as hell.

That was ok. There was a certain something missing imo, but overall it was certainly well done. I do appreciate her sense of humor and I'd rather have that than her sitting on a street and hugging abuse victims.
I also got major Cher vibes from her sometimes during this video.

I agree with everyone who thinks that a serious, dark video would have been far more appropriate for this song. I'm getting sick of the oh-so-cheeky camp already. It's a turnoff, like the whole singing career thing is a big joke... A little balance, please...

loved the video. Yea something darker would've been cool, but the color palette in this is just amazing. I loved the ending with the wings. Looked really expensive.

This is my least favorite video by her in a long time. It just missed the mark and the vibe of the song. It would have been awesome seeing her as an evil empress taking out Kings and nations with her army of dark horses, and then maybe at the end someone 'taming' her and revealing a beautiful Queen. But instead it was bright and campy and made no sense.
Alas it really doesn't matter, since she's already at #1, which the label probably realized too. If anything, save the epicness and video budget (Joseph Kahn please) for Legendary Lovers!!!

Well that was...interesting. I did find it entertaining, but this is one of my favorite songs in a long time, and Katy's always been great with videos, so I'm disappointed. I was envisioning something much darker and more intense, and for this song, this was just too...silly. I probably would've liked the video a lot more if it was for a different song.

Yeah, I think we can all agree that the video should have been more dark and serious with a more epic vibe instead of camp and cheese. This type of video would have been cute for "Birthday" and/or "This Is How We Do" but this song along with "Legendary Lovers" needs more of a dark and artistic vibe.

Quite interesting the 'Remember the time' vibe of the video including the whole turning someone into dust, checking tricks, punishing people. Still, 20+ years after the original, this one pales in comparison.
It was visually cool was pointless. And I'm not into the whole illuminati imagery (one eye, pyramid, people with big animal 'mask'). Hated those elements.
I just think that with Katy the whole excessive production (stage, videos) may start becoming tiresome. I hope next video is more in the lines of TOY or TOTGA.
