If you are attempting to catch the "Quitter" video on the CMT Countdown, I have some information for you. The "Quitter" video comes on at about 6:04 PM, eastern time. The show started at 4:30 pm. So, that means it came on about 1 hour and 34 minutes into the show. If you set your VCR to tape the "Quitter" video, you can just leave it running and get the "Don't" video on tape too. After the "Quitter" video is aired, the countdown goes to a commercial break. When the show comes back from the break, Shania's "Don't" video is shown. "Don't" moved up to # 5 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown this week.

I wonder why Shania isn't performing this song on the ACM's? ??? That would have been such great promotion for the song.

Thursday Shania Twain Mediabase Update
I Ain't No Quitter 54 to 51 (compared to last week) 50 to 51 (compared to yesterday) 164 (up 37 spins) 1.084 to 1.352 (compared to last week) 1.419 to 1.352 (compared to yesterday)
LMAO!!!! (I have a feeling that since it lost audience impressions and it fell down a notch since yesterday, some people will only report the numbers as compared to last week...you'll see!)
DON'T LMAO!!!!! 19 to 19 SHANIA TWAIN Don't! 442 from 444 (lost 2 spins) 1.721 audience impessions from 1.756 LOL!!!! DOn't has peaked and lost its bullet. All it did was reach # 18 on AC and 16 on Country. It didn't even chart on POP (I still remember this post from Shaniagotchagood: "Look out, here comes the follow-up to "Forever and For Always" Well, that didn't help, did it? ;)

Wow. "NY" must be desperate. Resorting to using yet another screen name.

Why would you admit to being here before? Why TCorey hasn't banned ur IP is beyond me...
Is it worth responding to? Sure..it added 3 more stations overnight, so the single is not done.

I don't know for sure where it is THIS week, but it was #49 officially last week on R&R
This week's numbers are still looking slow.
50 49 SHANIA TWAIN I Ain't No Quitter 244 185 59 1.550
Doesn't look too promising.

Sorry, I wasn't sure.
reception usually just posts the information about songs stuck below the chart (it is listed under the Top 50). So I am guessing the information you want will not be supplied. The song is already on R&R Top 50, so it's numbers aren't listed under NEW AND ACTIVE.

If this flops, I'll be PISSED OFF, seriously. Me too. Especially when this song is so much better, and more country[/B], than most of the crap that country radio is playing - and sending to # 1. The fact that country radio hasn't jumped on this song enough to get it into at least the Top 20 is just embarrassing. This just goes to show you how low country radio has sunk.

I am a Shania fan and enjoyed watching her rise to stardom. Am still a fan, but this is not a favorite song.

I think it is now pretty evident that country radio is blackballing Shania....this is her most "country" song in a long time , it is a lot more country then most other songs currently dominating the country charts and how many stations are playing it? ...probably less then 20. The country charts are obviously being manipulated by the politics of country music and don't reflect what the people actually want to hear and what they are requesting....Faith Hill's new song going from 0 to 1398 spins and 15 Million Audience Impressions in less then a week is pretty self explanatory. oh...and KZLA have proved their Shania bias once again. When Don't! passed their "Tuesday Testdrive" they didn't even add the song to their playlist. Recently they tested I Ain't No Quitter and that also passed yet they STILL refuse to play her new songs despite the fact that their listeners were calling up saying they like them.

Country radio is so corrupt right now it isn't even funny. Pay-for-play and favoritism are what rule the country charts these days. The excuse that Shania's song not testing well does not work. How does a song NOT test well when you don't even give the song one spin/play? The worst part is that at least some of the stations that haven't played "Quitter" are probably the same stations that played Cowboy Troy.

Recently they tested I Ain't No Quitter and that also passed yet they STILL refuse to play her new songs despite the fact that their listeners were calling up saying they like them. Same thing has been happening at KZLA with SHeDAISY's 'Don't Worry 'Bout A Thing'. It passed their Test Drive with flying colors, and then... Nothing... Supposedly they even added the song on 5/1 (according to R&R) and how many spins per week since then? 2 or 3. Wow, that's sort of giving a new meaning to 'added' isn't it? It's all the more surprising since the song has continually improved on callout testing (it's #16 this week on Callout America and ranked #10 among females on that chart) and has reached number one at WYCD in Detroit, KEEY in Minneapolis, KTRY in San Jose. KZLA played the heck out of Passenger Seat and Come Home Soon, too, so Shedaisy fans were hoping for big support this time around. Sorry for the sidetrack.... back to the ShaniaStuff now. :)

I haven't heard this song yet, so I can't comment on it. It's #49 in R&R for a second week.
Country radio is certainly NOT blackballing her; the PDs out there are still too obssessed with playing recurrents that are 18 months old instead of playing any of the new material by the numerous female artists who've come into the format in the past 18 months.
Lee Ann Womack's 'He Ought To Know That By Now' is stuck at #43 for a second weeks as well, which is really disheartening; her new CD is the best CD of 2005 so far, IMHO. (In My Humble Opinion)

Country radio is certainly NOT blackballing her... Yeah I don't believe that yet. Several responses from DJs say that there is just so much new music that some songs get lost in the mix. Eventually, though, I think this song will move. It had a great week. You are also right about being stuck on recurrents. And they are playing some females new singles...

Talk about playing recurrents. Sugarland's "Baby Girl" may finally drop off the Billboard chart after 45 weeks on it! It looks a bit odd to see Sugarland's two songs on the charts right next to each other on this week's Billboard. Drop the old song already! Even fans will get SICK of songs played that much. We've heard it enough!
I used to fault Billboard's rules for going recurrent for the reason why songs hang around far too long on it. I guess it's also radio's fault for driving songs into the dirt by overplaying them, and then ignoring too many great new songs in the process.

I read that Shania and Mutt are having trouble building their mansion in New Zealand. They will find a way. As we know, Shania "ain't no quitter."

Singer Shania Twain runs into opposition with plans for New Zealand farm mansionU.S. singer Shania Twain's plan to build a mansion on her New Zealand sheep farm has run into planning problems because the complex would not be in harmony with the surrounding landscape, officials said Wednesday. The country music star and husband Robert "Mutt" Lange Twain have applied for approval to build a house with attached garage, two guest cottages and ancillary structures on their alpine ranch, Motatapu Station, on South Island. Last year the pair won approval to lease 24,700 hectares (61,000 acres) of rugged and scenic farmland _ half of it above the snow line _ for 33 years with automatic renewal rights. The pastoral leasehold farm land near the tourist town of Wanaka cost them 21.4 million New Zealand dollars (US$15 million; €11.9 million). Plans show the couple want to build a diamond-shaped residential complex high in the Motatapu Valley, which locals say will be visible for miles. The region's planner and landscape architect have both advised the local council that the building should not be permitted. "People slamming mansions onto leasehold land" should be stopped, Upper Clutha Environmental Society President Julian Hayward said. "I don't think Shania Twain will be using this mansion for farming," he said. "It doesn't matter that it's Shania Twain. We get a lot of people trying to put buildings in inappropriate locations and we object to all of them," he told National Radio. Consultant planner Andrew Henderson said in his report that Twain's proposed dwelling "is not considered to be in harmony with the line and form of the landscape." He recommended that the council reject the building consent application when it's heard next week. Twain's planning and legal advisers did not return calls seeking comment. Wanaka is 808 kilometers (505 miles) southwest of the capital, Wellington. ---------------------------- If they reject her, they oughta give her a refund

It had a much better week this week-gaining over 600,000 listeners and almost 100 spins. Quite a few large markets are also beginning to play. Comin like a lamb, goin out like a lion as the saying goes..
