Im actually really surprised at the One Direction updates after the failed radio success of every single one of their singles since WMYB. Imo, the main reason for SOML's success is that it doesn't sound like a boyband song. It has that Mumford and Sons sound or something Ed Sheeran would sing. "Best Song Ever" was my guilty pleasure, but this is even more universal. |

I was really over the Do What U Want video delay, but a video release next week when digital singles sales see that after Christmas gift card boom could do wonders for it.
I hate looking at airplay this time of the year because it's just all off and wont be right till the 2nd/3rd week of Jan.

Also weird updates for the Monster, one day it seems like it's peaking next it is almost at 2M updates. probably because it's just starting to pick up steam @ Urban radio. |

Well the idea is giving it a video will boost it on iTunes, possibly into top 10, which increases sales some as it is. Plus if people are watching the video and decide to buy the song, they now have money to do so. So it would have a bigger increase than most songs.

I'm not understanding the argument though. You make it seem like being at #1 on Itunes because of TV exposure is a bad thing? Yes SS was performed on TV, but so have most of the songs on the radio yet I don't see them flying to #1 after every performance. No, promo is not a bad thing, and yeah I gotta give props to 'say something' for flying up on Itunes every time it's performed. That's a huge achievement! Congrats on the success of Say Something! :) |

It wouldn't have the level of views that something like "Wrecking Ball" got- plus, this week's chart period for steaming ends today, and next week's has four days after Christmas is over.

SO Im expecting another Mariah Carey top 10 lol I read somewhere that it's blocked in the USA so no way would it even help AIWFCIY's streaming points. There are also lots of AIWFCIY videos/audios/lyric videos all over YouTube that are not available in the US. |
