Once the legends speak in support of him, everyone else should shut the f**k up. And we can end this right here!

Once the legends speak in support of him, everyone else should shut the f**k up. Agreed, people need to leave him alone!! He, at least, brought back New Jack Swing to the forefront and gave credit where it's due. He acknowledged Babyface, Teddy Riley, and Jimmy Jam as the major key players. Now, that's my kinda guy!!!

Here's an update: Seren Sensei was suspended from twitter. Both the Grapevine and Meshell Ndegeocello are shamessly backtracking. The Grapevine creator said: Let me start by saying, no we do not hate Bruno Mars. I actually really enjoy Bruno Mars as a performer, and no one can take away his undeniable talent. That was never the intent of the conversation [...] Speaking for myself, I do not yet know if I believe Bruno Mars is a cultural appropriator.Meshell Ndegeocello feels like the writer took a lot of what she said out of context. It was not nuanced. She didn't mean karaoke act as an insult. Allegedly, she only has a problem with the title and Finesse. She said: karaoke is a device that plays instrumental accompaniment for a selection of songs with which the user sings along. I’m just saying that’s how it feels when I watch the video that looks like In Living Color. I thought this one wasn’t well thought out, but it is a hit so it connects in some way. But to me, it feels like a performance, like karaoke.Personally, I think they just s*** themselves when they saw the outburst of people defending him. It's thanks to the haters, legends keep praising Bruno on a daily basis. Teddy Riley does it again and freakin' Stevie Wonder joins in.

Black SJW are trying to ruin everything for the rest of us while shooting themselves in the foot. I hope this situation doesn’t deter Bruno from making more of this music going forward : (
Very pleased @ JD and others coming to his defense

Any speculation on his next single? No confirmation there will be a 5th single, but people keep looking at Chunky. I don't think it's gonna stop him. He's pretty stubborn and these CA accusations blackfired from the start. If anything, they only helped to cement his position. Some thought they could come for Mars and get away with it, they've been proven wrong. Now he not only has numerous hooligans and casual listeners but also legends sticking up for him openly. He'll be fine.

I'm glad legends are sticking up for him and he should NEVER apologize for his musical influences. There's other white male pop stars who should continue to be shamed but not him.

Andre Harrell spilled some tea regarding the making of 24k Magic album: He started it (at 0:37) by saying that Bruno is one of his favorite artists period. He saw him multiple times since his up and coming days and even though he didn't love every song on his debut, he always knew he's a good musician. It caught his attention that Bruno always included BBD/New Edition song in his performances. He randomly met him shortly after SB50 and asked him: So, what you're gonna do? Bruno: What do you mean? Andre: Every time I see you, you always wanna perform black records and now you made Uptown Funk. You should go black. As a matter of fact, you should go see Babyface right now and get it out of your system. Bruno went to Babyface's house for six weeks and worked on his album. Then got a phone call from Babyface, who said he didn't have to do much for Bruno bc he got it. Andre then said - what Bruno's doing is good for the music. Whenever mainstream artists do niche music, it brings the niche music to the forefront again. I think he makes young artists try and play with that music. For me, it's a compliment. More praise from Teddy Riley: The one think about Bruno is that he's never afraid. When you get artists with heart like Bruno who put out a record and don't think - is this gonna be a hit? He's not afraid. He just goes with it. He stands behind all his music. That's what sets him apart from a lot of artists.

Oh my godness, clues and Bruno? Sounds like fanfiction to me. The Stereotypes confirmed they will continue working with Bruno, but Mark Ronson thought the same and look how that turned out - Bruno ditched him before 24k Magic album. Honestly? We know nothing other than what we've known before - he was in the studio with Missy Elliott and Anderson Paak. Two Skrillex collabs pending, worked on something w/ Big Sean. Ciara and Chance the Rapper collabs are reportedly just wishful thinking on their part. Some ppl claim he might have some credit on Cardi's album. Bruno spread some love for Janelle Monae on twitter last wk. Remainded ppl of their joint tour and praised her recent music. Miss Janet Jackson herself confirmed with her own lips that they talked about collaborating. She attended his show in London. Bruno usually updates what fellow artists attend his shows, the fact he skipped Janet of all people is... suspicious. My thoughts: I don't think it's gonna be another conceptual album. Tour was the main purpose of 24k Magic. He's still performs with it around the world and he won't stop anytime soon. Imho he'll be bored to death with the idea of sticking to one specific mood/theme. That's why I think, he'll be coming back to his roots of combining different musical genres on his albums, but rnb feel is here to stay. Some ppl hope for more rock influences. Anyway, first hints will appear, if he adds some covers to his setlist. It's always the thing to look out for with him. For me, an improvement in lyrics is a MUST, it's already way better than some corny stuff from his previous albums, but still...Other than that I'm open-minded. His production is a treasure on its own: My dream come true would be if he worked with Jam&Lewis. So far, Chapter 4 is a mystery, but this was hanging on his refrigerator since 2014: so it doesn't seem so far-fetched he's already plottling something.... What do you want/hope for?

What do I want/hope for? That's a great question, because Bruno is one of those rare artists for me that I really don't mind what he does. His productions and stage shows are top notch not to mention his melodies....I like a bit of everything (genre wise) he's done. I'm just curious about what he's gonna show us next. I'm sure I'll love it!

BILLBOARD: Bruno Mars & Cardi B's 'Finesse' Tops Pop Songs Airplay ChartWhile Cardi B notches her first Pop Songs No. 1, Mars earns his ninth, passing Justin Timberlake (eight) for the most leaders among solo males in the chart's history. Mars matches Maroon 5 and P!nk's totals, while only Katy Perry and Rihanna boast more Pop Songs No. 1s with 11 each. Mars has now earned two Pop Songs No. 1s apiece from each of his first three LPs. He's the first male to accomplish the feat and follows only Perry, who earned two, six and two toppers, respectively, from her first three major-label albums. Mars' first full-length, 2010's Doo-Woops & Hooligans, produced the Pop Songs No. 1s "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade." 2012 follow-up Unorthodox Jukebox generated the leaders "Locked Out of Heaven" and "When I Was Your Man." Mars' other three Pop Songs No. 1s: "Nothin' on You," by B.o.B featuring Mars (2010); "It Will Rain," from the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 (2012); and "Uptown Funk!," by Mark Ronson featuring Mars (2015).

www.billboard.com/biz/articles/8266977/bruno-mars-cardi-bs-finesse-remix-certified-2x-platinumBruno Mars & Cardi B's 'Finesse' Remix Certified 2x PlatinumBy Rania Aniftos | March 28, 2018 Cardi B and Bruno Mars add another platinum project to their collections: According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), their smash “Finesse” remix has been certified 2x Platinum, recognizing 2 million equivalent song units earned. The accomplishment marks Mars' 16th platinum-certified single and Cardi’s second. One equivalent song unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to: one digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. The RIAA revamped its Gold & Platinum Awards Program on Feb. 1, 2016, growing from a pure sales certification process to one that includes tracks and streams. The remix, along with its In Living Color-inspired video, was released Jan. 3 and became an instant hit, with the pair performing it decked out in coordinated Cross Colours outfits at the 2018 Grammy Awards later that month. The "Finesse" remix has so far peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (dated Jan. 20) and the Pop Songs airplay chart (March 31). On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Pop Songs, the track marked the second No. 1 from Mars' 24K Magic album, following "That's What I Like," which also reached the top of the Hot 100.

So Finesse is officially the last single from 24k Magic. Even though, I love this album to the pieces I think it's a smart decision. Hooligans start to wonder about his record deal... How many albums does he own them? What's the deadline? I think these are very valid questions with no specific answer.

I would love for Bruno to do something more modern with his next record, really change up his style again. I think the whole classic style has gotten a bit old, the shtick has worn out. Plus I want Bruno to be an innovator again, I really think all this banking off the past is gonna ruin is legacy. He needs to start doing some more original stuff again.

Ending the era with Finesse is a good move. Great run with three top 5 singles! Just a shame Versace on the Floor didn't do well but at least it still went top 40

Pitchfork: Nile Rodgers Says Haim, Bruno Mars, More Working on New CHIC Album He says the long-delayed project is finally coming this year
CHIC’s Nile Rodgers stopped by Pitchfork Radio yesterday at Coachella. During his conversation with host Elia Einhorn, he revealed some of the collaborators that Chic had been working with for their long-awaited album, It’s About Time.
He also explained how the Bruno Mars collaboration unexpectedly came together. “Anderson .Paak and I—we had a few days, and he was opening for [Bruno Mars] while he was in the UK,” said to Einhorn. “And Bruno was like, ‘Damn, I gotta stop by and hang with y’all.’ So we sat around telling great Prince stories and finally we got down, and Bruno came up with an idea and said, ‘Damn, I wonder why nobody’s done this.’ So we decided to get down and do it.”
