The power of this song (and its Diplo remix) are unmatched. Not even Single Ladies was that impactful imo as a song. It's such an effortless smash and Bey's multiple singing abilities shine through it. LMAO!!! really? Single Ladies not impactful? That's news to me.... Read again. And I was clearly talking about the song not the video.

Lol. "Single Ladies" was a HUGE deal. "Drunk in Love" is big but, it's no where as big as "Single Ladies". I saw SL competition's everywhere.

Didn't someone post the radio edits a couple of pages ago? Here's a Beyonce-only Drunk in Love on Youtube. It sounds...fine? The transition seems pretty smooth honestly: This would end up being released to HAC or pull off an "Empire State Of Mind" with AC. Wouldn't work anyways, way too urban and sexual for HAC.

This is my favorite Beyonce song in a very long time. I think maybe it is not climbing very quickly because a lot of it sounds improvised and loosely structured. That does not stop me from liking it, but songs that seem to do well on the radio have very basic structures.

Its boring and not very creative...safe...and not even in a good way.

The album also stays in the top 10! Hasn't left since it's release :)

That's why I never saw it working as a single at first. But it does seem to keep growing and growing on a person. Will probably have an up and down run on pop.

I hope it goes all the way to number one until they unleash the beast that is "Partition," my favorite song on the album!

I don't think Partition will be bigger than this, at least on pop. It sounds straight out of her debut album although it's one her hottest songs for sure.

I think she needs to not release anymore dual singles. I feel her best chance at pop smash is Pretty Hurts. Not one of my favorites on the album, but that and XO are the most pop friendly and they already screwed up XO.

Dayum! The fact that this had a staggered release is hurting this song....

I've just rewatched the Grammy performance and I don't understand why most say that it was lipped. It was definitely live or at least not the album version's vocals.

^ NOP, there were obvious lipped parts especially the first 2 minutes when Jay Z came though she sang live!

I'm gonna scream if this isn't going to outpeak 'XO'. They better get it together.

This song has peaked on the Hot 100 already, it's never going to get higher than #2. So I'm completely okay if this peaks on pop in the teens. This song has done what it's needed to do. I want "Partition" to go to pop ASAP so it can have a proper multi-format release. The staggered timing of this song and "XO" underperforming has thrown this era off in a major way singles wise.

I agree. I had a feeling it was going to stall where its currently at. I'd just like this outpeak both 'XO' & 'BTINH'. I'll be content w/#15. I agree they should release 'Partition' hopefully within the next couple of weeks so it can have a chance to gain on all its formats somewhat simultaneously & not be in the same boat like 'DIL'.
