Blurred lines, royals and thrift shop smashed in the US first and then went to other parts of the world. But yes there are songs that start off in Europe and others that started in the US

Royals and Thrift Shop were popular in New Zealand long before they hit top 10 in the US.

you forgot CMM which was #1 in Canada before it even debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 lol. Also John Newman's LMA which is just now becoming popular in USA.

yeah you're right;but in many cases(like CMM,STIUTK,royals,LMA,etc) the song gets popular in the country that the singer belongs to,first(except LHG that reaches #2 in UK,long after it had been reached #1 all over the world except US and Canada!!!).but many of the songs whose singers are from US get popular long after they got popular in many other parts of the world;for example talk dirty or all of me(the most recent cases)

They have charts for both, though the US only plays will be the only ones posted here.

That's a lot of streams from just Spotify and Vevo, then- probably the majority of total U.S. numbers. I think I asked before, but missed the answer- are the Vevo numbers just from vevo.com, or also Vevo streams via YouTube? (sorry for all the inquiries, and thanks again for the replies :)

I'm not sure yet. I presume the VEVO numbers and the Youtube VEVO channels work simultaneously?

From the Vevo FAQ:  "The view counts you see on VEVO.com and the VEVO apps are inclusive of YouTube view counts. They are not separate numbers, but because we have to pull counts from so many different sources, the views on VEVO.com and YouTube aren’t always in sync."  

When they do 24 hour views they wrote: "We calculate the total views over a 24 hour period from across our entire platform including our syndication partners. This includes all VEVO apps plus syndication channels AOL, Yahoo! YouTube and many more. These reports usually come in over the course of a 2 day period.
Once all the reports are in, we take the total view count from the exact time the video premieres to exactly 24 hours later. That is the 24 hour number."

Their other FAQ: 
 "Q: Does it count as a view if I hit replay, or do I have to refresh the page?
A: Either works, just don’t use automated tools. Our best advice is to share, share, share and think outside your fan base. The videos that really rack up views are the ones that span fan bases.
Q: Why do you take away views?

Not to mention almost all of the songs performed on the Grammys will see a slight increase in sales due to the last night of the tracking period being Grammy night.

Samantha fox was everything. I loved her songs, looks and her voice. Sheena easton and Sam fox cohabit the top 10 with like a prayer waiting to pounce...those were the best days of music.
