Wow...this is ovious and desbrite...there is no secret here...everyone knows shes been putting an album together for 4 or 5 years...good god gurl....all you will here is how she tried the same trick as Beyounce...then the critics will have fun with it not having no were near the same results....common Mariah...your better then that.

I just want to hear this album already, hopefully not full of JD produced tracks. I wouldn't be mad at all if she had more pop tracks ala "Almost Home" on the record.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're in middle school, or around that age. Therefore, I will respond and say that just because she took a page from Beyonce's book, so to speak, I don't think she or her team expects the same results as Beyoncé. Sure, they're hoping for that, but I don't think they're expecting it. Moreover, I think the media has taken quite well to Mariah using the same kind of release technique as Beyoncé regarding the album. I don't believe I've seen too much negative press, at least not yet. |

YIKES, this is how those other gorls felt all those years when everything Mariah related was just flawless ie HITS, VOICE, LEGACY, PROMO. I've seen hiccups and such in her career in regards to the release business end of things but this takes the cake. I'm just like can we get this done in some format right away and move on to the music so we can talk about music. That's where Mimi shines is giving us albums and music that is "musical" by giving us the music and having that contrast with the shitty albums girls drops these days maybe we can have positive things to talk about.

This is the biggest mess of an album rollout for a major artist in recent history, right?
I'm not even a Mariah stan and I'm still annoyed by all of the rumors and delays and misinformation. I can't imagine how frustrated actual fans must be.

And yes of course all this attention is because Mariah's name is attached to it. Nobody would care if it was I don't know say Chris Brown, I don't know. I have to say that I am not a fan (I was in the early 90s) and chances that I'll buy this album are almost nonexistent, but since I love the music industry I can help myself from coming back to this thread several times a day!!!  I'm SO SO SO curious to know how this will finally end and if the album ends up getting good reviews or not. To be honest, deep inside of me I do wish I like at least one song that will take me as far as wanting to buy it. This happened with The Art Of Letting Go which was the first song I've liked of hers in YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. |

I know that, but now they won't need to set a date anymore. They will wake up one morning and feel like they could be #1 so they will release it right away. Exactly, it saves artists the trouble from even bothering with setting a release date, so you don't end up like Mariah and have rabid fans breathing down your neck about release dates. Have we seen anyone else of note actually do that? |

I honestly think for Mariah the business/marketing side really is the side that trips her up, and she genuinely has no interest in doing that aspect of her career what so ever. You can kind of tell in her 2000's career that it really is the side she dislikes. If she could really just take a year to really build a solid marketing team, she would be fine. I know she hates dealing with it, but literally it is her biggest problem building a solid team. You can tell she hates the interviewing and talking about her music/life. If she could live in a studio and be successful, then she would. Well, and what makes it an issue is that it's not her bag (so to speak), yet she still clearly wants control of all aspects of her career. "If you're going to round, round down!"  The Guardian article wasn't perfect, either, though, reporting 12m for Emancipation when it's more like 10. In that instance, though, she'd be glad with a higher number.  Of course you report that error, but not that they said TRL was on VH1. See right through you like you're bathing in Windex. Still in the studio, she tweeted: Mariah Carey ‏ Mariah Carey 11m Studio break! Ezekiel 1:28 Perfect timing. I was gonna get mad but then it dawned on me...she's coming with a last minute 'song of the decade'. Come on MC bring it! Shout out to those who thought an album was handed in! At the end of the day, no one - not JD, not the label, etc. - can proceed until a finished product is turned in. |

It can still be turned in she could be recording for anything. Mariah could go in the studio at any point, and it means nothing. She could go in and just record one song and release it. She also is slated to do some Christmas project too apparently, so she could be working on that.
