So, is she not having a fan club party this year? It's usually announced around the end of April, and we're now almost a week into May and no sign of an announcement yet. I know some folks were waiting for the announcement in order to finalize their flight arrangements. Just a simple "yes it's happening" or "no it's not happening" would suffice if they aren't able to provide further details yet.
I'd originally been planning to go to Nashville for CMA Fest week this year, but I'm glad I decided to put it off until next year because this year seems like it might be a bit of a mess. Not just Carrie's FCP, but a lot of things seem to be very disorganized this year (not to mention the not-so-great LP Field lineup).

Don't those stats they report seem outdated? Anyway, based on an earlier Forbes report and this one I guess it's safe to say her net worth is between 70 and 110 million. Most of the idols have found some success . Good for them. |

I wonder how this will turn out, I imagine split voting could be a big issue here. I think the best shot at VOTY would be "Somethin' Bad" as both fan bases will be voting for that one, but I'd personally rather SITW win. I think I'll probably vote for SITW for Female Video, and Collab should be a lock, I think. Edit: I voted for SITW for Video of the Year... I love "Somethin' Bad", but I just love the song so much more, and the video (although polarizing in terms of reception), is one of my favorites from Carrie. From what I've seen on twitter, most people seem to be voting "Somethin' Bad" for VOTY and Collab VOTY, and "Little Toy Guns" for FVOTY, figuring "Something in the Water" has already been awarded elsewhere (Grammys). Personally I'm not a big fan of the SITW video, whereas I think the SB video is one of the best videos I've seen in years.
I could definitely see vote-splitting causing Carrie to be shut out of both VOTY and FVOTY.

I'm voting:
"Something Bad" for Video
"Little Toy Guns" for Female
I think it makes sense because I think it's pretty clear that these awards are rigged. When Carrie wins Video they won't give her Female too - giving it to the woman who I assume has the 2nd amount of votes. So I feel like if one of Carrie's solo videos wins Video then Female will go to just Miranda. However if we vote "Something Bad" for Video I'm sure they'll have no problem giving Carrie Female for LTG or SITW.
I think it's a matter of winning 3 awards instead of 2.

As we expected, she's confirmed for a CMT Music Awards performance on June 10th.
Also, even better news: "Something in the Water" was nominated for MusicRow Song of the Year, which is awarded to the songwriters. The other nominees are "All About That Bass" (Meghan Trainor is a Nashville-borne artist), "Dirt", "Girl Crush", and "Raise 'Em Up". GC will undoubtedly win, but it's great to see Carrie recognized this way for her writing.

Hmm, hope his objectivity doesn't fail him and is able to do right for all concerned in his personal and professional interests. That's assuming he gets the job. I'd hate to see another Overton at the helm. |
